How does someone get dead-center front row seats?

I still don't think it's fair that the "upgrades " get 1st & 2nd row, front & center. A couple years ago I had 3rd row center & it seemed like all in front of me were upgrades or free tickets ...all young & very drunk, could have cared less there was a concert going on,much less that it was Paul. Looks like this tour first row center is available to fans. When I was trying for tickets for Grand Rapids show, ,I saw center seats ,front row. I opted for 3rd row because of price . But they were available!
Very very unusual for those to be sold. At all the shows I've been to this year, front row center seats were filled by upgrades.
Me too
If you look at that Munich seating chart, you'll see there is only one section straight on in front of the stage (not 3 like in the U.S.) so they had to sell those front row seats for the Hot Sound Package (or whatever they call it there)

I meant solely for US shows. I don't know what happens in Europe.

I understood what you meant, I was just saying what I thought perhaps happened there in Munich because of their seat configuration.

This practice is common for all shows no matter who the artist is and where or what the venue is. That is why it is sometimes possible to get the best seats in the house the day of the show. They are held for friends, family and other vips and if they aren't used, then you could luck out. And of course you aren't going to complain if you are the beneficiary of this. It's happened for me a couple of times, although not for Paul and I'm not going to complain if someone offers me tickets up front, usually for free. Face it, lets say you were friends with Brian Ray and were in town for the show, wouldn't you expect him to get you a good ticket? They clearly aren't going to remove someone from their seat, so they have to save tickets for this possible occurance.

And I understand how people feel about it, unless of course you benefit from it. But regardless it is a standard practice and not about to end anytime soon.

The thing is, you will have no way of knowing where Paul will be positioned on stage. I was dead center where Paul stood during the 2013 Missoula concert, third row, seats 9 and 10, but the middle was seats 15 and 16. So, my answer is probably closer to serendipity.
-
This is probably one thing I will never get is directly in front of Paul in the seating. Those seats are very expensive but are worth every penny. However maybe next year if he does another tour maybe I can squeeze in time to go see him at least one more time because I hardly ever go to concerts. Maybe start saving now and maybe I can get a close up seat somewhere.

I did it the old fashioned way back in 1993. Best concert I ever attended. It was May 26, 1993 in Boulder, CO. That was when they had the arm that the band got in and it went up and over the crowd. They were right over me when that happened. I was right in front of Robbie. We spent a lot of time making the Wings sign with Linda and she kept taking our pictures. Ah, the days before packages.

Look at last few seconds of video:
Looks familiar. Wonder how they got there? ð??? **and I hope the condom story was true. -

They got there because they got up very early and queued until the gates opened, and then spent all day in front of the stage waiting for Paul to come on at night. (what condom story?)

I've seen the main 2 girls (front row) in the video at a lot of McCartney concerts and I have never seen them upgraded to front row. They go online when they go on sale and they have wound up with some good to great seats. Die hard fans who travel to see McCartney.

^^ I guess I should just be quiet on this subject. Never mind. This is why my phone doesn't work anymore. That was meant for one person reading this post. But I am glad it is done. Peace & Love.??

Slotix also has it's favorite fans. I can't call a main person directly for a ticket, get in to the venue with no ticket and get the ticket during the reception for sound check. Saw it happen with my own eyes. Was told work computer wouldn't let them buy tickets, so a phone call was made. Closer seat that I got.

By "old fashioned" do you mean the lottery? That's all we had then--the luck of the draw. It wasn't until 2002 that you could get online at exactly 10 am or whatever and get better seats. Got my first floor seats that year.

Yes, I met them a few years back at AROTR. They are boardies here. Both have Paul signature tattoos on their upper bands plus one has a small Hofner tattoo.
