This list is basically a joke and  the selections prove it.  It is one thing not to have a Beatle song in the top five, it is absolutely absured to have "Strawberry Fields Forever" as the highest ranked Beatle song. It is not just the Beatles they are absolutey "nuts" with their selections, the highest ranked Rolling Stones song is "Gimme Shelter", really -lol.  I could not believe it but "Stairway To Heaven" by Led Zepplin did not make the top 50 (#62)  you got to be kidding me.  I am sure the majority of voters are younger than me so I expected to see more rap/hip hop songs make the list and replace classic rock songs.  I may not be alive the next time they do this but I would be willing to bet if they do it in another 17 years there will not be a Beatle song in the top 10.BTW - Not one Paul McCartney song like "Maybe I'm Amazed" or "Band On The Run" for example made the list -smh

That list really is a joke. Tens of thousands of songs have been written, probably hundreds of thousands of songs (if not more?), most of which have never even been recorded or even published and yet here we are again, the same old songs by the same old suspects. No wonder no one takes these lists seriously.

Wembley Empire Pool, London  (Wings) 21st October 1976.

'Take It Away' video shoot Elstree studios, London 23rd June 1982.

'Give My Regards To Broad Street' film premier, London 29th November 1984.

Docklands Arena rehearsal concert, London 5th February 1993.

Run Devil Run launch party, Equinox Club, London 30th September 1999.

              O2 Arena, London 22nd December 2009.

              O2 Arena, London 5th December 2011.
