I thought this place was for the real fans... Not bitchers.
you are waay too young to know. You will learn.
No one is too young for anything...some people are just unaware of how cyclical this board is.

You keep telling yourself that... ...but more importantly, try telling THAT to the judge!!

I only meant that when you are a young teenager you have nothing to bitch about. You are barely into life yet. There is so much more to it. Wait till you have to get a job, pay taxes, buy a house & on & on.

None of that should matter here. We only know ages because of what others have said AND because we choose to believe them...scary thought, eh? We're all on the same level here regardless of where we fall outside of this board...it's one reason I keep coming back!

Here is a compilation video of the new songs. Notice at 058 into the video, on the screen, the picture of a young Barack Obama pictured with his mother. http//

No, I disagree. I think we should always be aware of others ages (if we know). Especially when teens are involved.

Everyone has favorites...songs you could easily give up to hear rarities. Sir Paul has to balance that against the many people who are seeing him the first or second time. I'm just happy to be able to see him a few times on this tour, he could sing the alphabet & I'd be fine with it. Not sure if I'll ever get the chance to see Long Haired Lady live, I just love the juxtaposition of complementary melodies. Also, he's touring to promote his latest remaster, so obviously there will be songs from Wings Over America/Rockshow - the gentleman in question knows how to make a dollar or two!

I agree! More so, at least he does still play and a long set on top of that at his age. There are modern groups that don't play half the set Paul plays. I think it has to be really tough having SO MANY hits to have to choose from in a 50 year career. I think I can see the point on how to balance that more fair, however his mass popularity is that of a Beatle.

I realize I do not have to come on here, I like to come on to see if there is some intelligent, informed opinions not just bitching over and over and over again. It is kinda like when you have a kid on a trip and they keep saying "are we there yet" you still love your kid but you want them to eventually quit asking. I too think it is disrespectful to constantly bitch about what the man plays.

See this is why he doesn't usually change set-lists.....instead of embracing the fact that he's gotten much more experimental....certain folks want to knock him for his choices. If you don't like the choices, just don't go to the show!! I applaud him, regardless of what choices have been made, for him this is a giant leap to change so many things and I hope it will continue with tours down the line because then you might get a song like "the mess" played at some point. The other alternative is to play the same 37 songs that are usually played. I'm excited to see these new songs played...some may not be the ones that I would have picked but hell, happy he changed tact and made a big change!! YOU GO MACCA!!!
woot woot woot !!~ right on Bob!

exactly....I hope he does not get word of all the complaining and decide to change ANYTHING...ya know there are a lot of songs I would like..but I am thrilled that there are 8 or nine new songs that I have never heard live. Some people are complaining that there are too much Beatles and he did not do anything other than My Valentine from the past 30 years well, yes I could get into more of his solo stuff and I could get into Some other wings stuff...but damn enough already. I like hearing anything he does.
This is a fan board and people can express their opinion and I personally don't care if you had enough already. I am one of those who said that I would like to hear songs done more recently than 30 yrs ago. My reason is that I bought these CD's and I would love to hear some of the songs live in concert. You are thrilled you are going to hear 8-9 songs you have never heard live before and I am glad for you. I wish you would give myself and others the same courtesy when we may disagree what would thrill us in a McCartney set list - lol.
Yeah, I said that too yesterday. I'd love some songs from the last 30 years. And for that, I've even been accused of not liking Paul. What a bunch of BS some of these people are.
People here have a right to criticize Paul for his choices. I think it is disrespectful and I've said it before. But I also have a right to defend his choice to play any damn thing he pleases for 55,000 people who obviously enjoyed the concert!
I don't expect you to read my every post but I have said I understand McCartney playing a heavy Beatle set list and expect it. I just want the remainder left to be more of his recent work. I have also praised the youtube clips I have heard from the other night's concert. I have also never made a "nasty" comment about people who like the choices he makes and tell them I have had enough of them - lol.

Just curious. Why is it disrespectful to want a performer to play more songs from his entire 50yr career than just a 15 year period? I will also add that McCartney tours rather freqently so that is why there is more discussion about his setlist.

I certainly don't mean to sound like I'm telling anyone what to do, but if you are fed up with set list debate then why enter a thread called "Out There 2013 Setlist Critique and Suggestions"? If it bothers you that much then I would perhaps suggest you stay away from threads like this, then you'll not be bothered.

I've heard every reason imaginable why McCartney has to play a Beatle heavy setlist. I'm sorry but after almost THREE DECADES those reasons just don't fly with me anymore! Some say he has to think about the first timers, well I say McCartney has thought about them long enough. Some say people only want to hear the Beatles, well we won't know until he decides to play more of his other music. Some want McCartney to breath his very last breath singing a Beatle song. I want him to showcase more of his fantastic career, and I don't see anything wrong with wanting McCartney to perform more of his music! I'm not satisfied with the predictable, why does McCartney have to repeat songs, why not change up and play totally different and totally new songs, why repeat songs over and over. The man has the material?
