Precisely. The general public is rather ignorant of Wings. In a group of 12...one person knew "Bluebird", one cared to hear it, and the other 10 have probably forgotten the conversation.
Being a Paul fan (I don't know if your friends are), I don't ask for rare songs; Bluebird isn't a popular song at all, but among Paul fans, it's known, not so much as Silly Love Songs or With a Little Luck, and those are the ones I ask for, some popular songs that has never been performed or where only in WOA or the 89/90 tour.

Beatles = 72:28 Wings = 32:22 Solo = 10:07
That breakdown of minutes per concert per era of Paul's music is pretty depressing. I hope that this isn't how he himself values his work, as I'd like to think he's more proud of his Wings and solo music than this breakdown of how much time he spends on each during a concert shows.
Excepting a few tributes, most everything he performs IS his work. He's proud of work from 1970-2013. And (much to the chagrin of many people here) he's proud of his work from 1963-1970 too. I think he just plays whatever he feels would be the best show possible, and that's the end of it. Whether the song is from 1967 or 1974 or 1982 or 2008, it is ALL PAUL MCCARTNEY MUSIC.
Well, that's obvious that it's all Paul's music. However, it remains true that the music he brings out during concerts is weighted heavily in his Beatles' days. Why not give some credit to the other 40 years of his work and even that out with some Wings and solo work? As has already been stated, there are TWO songs from the last 20 years in his current setlist. Two. A little equity would be nice.

Yes, but nothing to make him a current artist. and I think it is 2 songs from the last 30 years.

Then perhaps you'd be happier at a Bruno Mars, or Lady Gaga concert.

No need to get flippant. Why can't people express opinions? oh & does Bruno Mars or GaGa play Paul's solo work? (didn't understand your reasoning with that quip) Never said I don't like Paul's music. :

That's a good point, I would't expect mnyof them to. But, I'd like to think I wouldn't be the only one. Ever sinc Silly Love Songs was on Glee (BARF) all my friends kno it. :

I promised myself that I would stop harping on this issue, but -- seeing your post... ...amen, sister! OK... ...now I'm returning to the state-of-mind of waiting for the new album.

I like Bruno Mars. Heckuva entertainer! He stole the show at the '12 Grammys, barely edging out Paul.

...stole the show??? : There were a LOT of high points that night, and he wasn't one of them.
-
I disagree. I love how he celebrates his strong Elvis and James Brown influences.
-
Have to say, I've been watching some footage from Bruno Mars lately...and man can that boy sing!!!

I've seen this -- it's great. This is one of his current hits, and -- although it's an obvious homage to The Police -- it's got his unique stamp all over! it!

His voice is amazing, I know a guy plays bass/sings in a local band...they were covering this song and their female singer had to drop the key!!

How in the heck was this not a highlight??? That's nuts. His band is tight as hell.

Have to admit I don't like that song and from stuff that I've seen it's a long way from the best performance I've seen from him. Frankly though he was better than a lot of the oldies that night.

Have to give him props for doing that split, though.

The band rocks, but he is the epitome of arrogance. Don't you remember watching his hissy fit when he didn't get album of the year? Can't stand the guy and I don't like his music...at least what I catch on the radio during commercials on the decent stations.

Lol! In summary: In a music industry that is dominated by a lot of talentless individuals, I have A LOT of time for Bruno Mars and his music. With regards to his character, I know literally nothing about the dude so I can't comment on that. Great songs and one heck of a voice is all I really care about!
