My Salamander:
I'm betting he opens with Magical Mystery Tour or Drive My Car. Second tune might be Flaming Pie. I just hope he plays Let Me Roll It and Long And Winding Road. Now THAT would shake things up!
-
Also, instead of just the fusion of Foxy Lady and the Hendrix story, how about a partial tribute to both Hendrix and Harrison, by fusing in the Tax Man guitar solo. From there Sir Paul can inform us about Harrisson requesting Sir Paul to play the guitar solo on that recording. I bet 90% of the audience have no idea that Sir Paul play'd the blistering solo on Tax Man. And Hendrix may have had an influenced that as well. Wouldn't that be a nice little addition?

But is a new tour or a recording of the past?

That Clapton/Hendrix story is so hit-or-miss, too.

Might be worth remembering that in the very first clutch of shows if some songs don't go over as well, in all likelihood they could be dropped and replaced early so as to fine tune the show. So folks, in Fresno, Portland etc...when ANY new songs are played please capture 'em and get 'em up on YouTube for posterity.

so true... I'm dreading a repeat of when HOD or On My Way to Work were dropped before many of us had a chance to hear them.
-
Well, McCartney gets a pass on "On My Way To Work" as it was a genuinely impromptu performance. But my very good buddy who saw the Indianapolis show in 2013 felt positively robbed when "Hope Of Deliverance" was yanked from the set on the very show that he attended.
-
I thought HOD was taken out after the first Orlando show. I know it wasn't played in Memphis or Indy as I attended both shows.
-
Could be true. But I definitely remember getting text messages from my very disappointed buddy the night of the Indianapolis show.

It was. I was at both Orlando shows. It was only played at the first one.

Same sort of thing with "Listen To What The Man Said" last year...played in Philly, and then dropped from there out...maybe even more peculiar than HOD since it had been played for all of the preceding tour dates...and while it was cool to hear "One After 909" for the first time in Charlottesville.....what an Odd replacement!?!
-
The falsetto part at the end of "Listen..." was becoming a real struggle for McCartney after a while. I think that's why he plays it selectively.

Was it played anymore after Philly '15? I didn't think it was, but could be wrong.

A live version of "Girls School" Will be so great! And I have a feeling that he will play "Goodnight Tonight" this time, it's really weird he never played (except one time in 2012), he can handle it and it's a great song. Well, we'll see in 3 days!
He played "Goodnight Tonght" during the '79 tour:
Yes I know, but it was too long ago

Philly '15 was the last time "Listen..." was played.

I think that decision was made because he added 'Temporary Secretary' that leg. In Asia in April 2015 he started to skip 'Listen To What The Man Said' and brought 'Jet' back instead, but after that the setlist was Beatles opener, throwaway solo song, big Beatles song, solo song, obscure solo song, solo song... and I guess he wanted to have that evened out with dropping one solo song for another Beatles song ('Got to Get You Into My Life'/'Good Day Sunshine'/'One After 909') at that point in the set. I loved those changes in the early set in May 2015, but I gotta say it felt kinda uneven, regardless of how interesting the material was.
