To play Silly Love Songs, With A Little Luck, My Brave Face, Hope Of Deliverance, Take It Away is not "playing less hits." Those WERE hit songs.
that was kind of one of my points... those are biggest hits than many Beatle songs he plays. Or even bigger than most of the Beatle songs he plays.
Muy bien!
Mr Kite is anything but a hit
,
Yeah. I get it, hombre, you love Paul no matter what he does. I don't share your devotion.
Then why are you here? The man is living history, not just a 73 year old rock star selling out stadiums. He and three other guys from Liverpool changed the world. That is why he still does this. Because it matters to people, that's why!
Because I feel like it. That's why.
I don't share your devotion

A possible way to look at the set list (part 1,984,765,590,123)
Just my thoughts on the whole set list. (I know, I know it will never happen in a million years............ I can dream though). Keep as these songs unite most (if not all the tours) Let It Be Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End Yesterday Band on the Run Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five Save Us In Spite of All The Danger Letting Go Get rid of (as these songs have been over played IMHO) Hey Jude Let Me Roll It Something Here Today I've Got A Feeling New Hi Hi Hi Live and Let Die The Fool on the Hill My Valentine Obla Di Obla Da Four Five Seconds Queenie Eye And I love Her Lady Madonna What a possible set list could look like (assuming Paul's voice was in good shape, and with the exception of the first song and the last three songs, in no particular order -- just that they reflect more of Paul's entire career). My Brave Face Save Us Can't Buy Me Love Band on the Run Letting Go We Can Work It Out Take It Away No More Lonely Nights Arrow Through Me I've Had Enough Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five With A Little Luck Footprints Yesterday In Spite of All the Danger Blackbird Calico Skies Helter Skelter Beware My Love Souvenir Fine Line Only Mama Knows Juniors Farm Mull of Kintyre Blue Sway Through Our Love 1882 Another Day Kicked Around No More Let It Be A Day in the Life Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End

Actually, Elvis was the one who changed the world. The Beatles took it to the next level.
Ah you see, I must disagree again.
-
I really want to see him perform "For No One". I think it's one of the greatest songs written about an ending relationship

Yes. He has done it before, I wonder why he doesn't do it more, it is one of his better songs.
-
For No One is easier for him to sing than HT&E. It'd be a nice swap.

Who inspired The Beatles the most? Elvis.

Me, too! I've always felt that song is perfect: says it all in just a few short verses. I haven't had the pleasure of seeing him do it in concert, but I'm always hoping.

Yes Elvis. And Chuck, Little Richard, Fats, the Killer, Carl Perkins, Phil and Don, Larry Williams, but also and earlier, Tommy Steele, Lonnie Donegan and skiffle. Elvis was an American phenomenon. More a style icon and now a brand, a bit like Coca-Cola, James Dean and Marilyn Monroe. For all his popularity, talent and visibility he hardly changed the world. It's action reaction - just because Elvis was an inspiration to the Beatles doesn't mean he changed the world more than they did...or before them. In fact I think it's just wrong to suggest that. And I'm a huge Elvis fan (as you know). When you have hundreds of thousands of people lining the streets or grandparents, husbands and wives and their kids all tuning in to see four boys from Liverpool, that's more than a phenomenon: that's capturing the imagination of the world revolution style. Every demographic, the world over. The Beatles are name checked every day. Be it film, tv series, interviews, contemporary artists, inside the pages of a novel...still very much referenced. The shockwaves that began in 1962 are still reverberating. When it comes to impacting the world and changing it, The Beatles leave Elvis in the dust. ...besides Elvis stole all his stuff from Jackie Wilson...
Just kidding!

The Beatles changed the world in may ways. From fashion (haircuts/clothes), songwriting, experimentation in the recording studio and heck even making album covers "art".

Agree with the last couple posts. Elvis did not change the world...he shook it (by shaking his hips!) The Beatles changed everything!

The Beatles were it. But everyone and everything has a history. Elvis was it. Until the Beatles came along. But there would be no Beatles without Elvis. Or Buddy, Chuck, Little Richard, Eddie Cochran, etc. They were stealing from the past every bit as much as Elvis did.

yes, there is no present without a past and all that... zzz.... but the Beatles were and are THE THING (I can't say it in a better way) Even if we don't like it sometimes as Paul sometimes plays a bad Beatle song instead of a great solo song. But what happened with The Beatles... they are the legend of our times (maybe of some already past times...). The greatest myth ever (there is the religious myths too, but those are not universal, and they separate instead of uniting). There are more books written bout the Beatles than about any other historical figure. It's out of question, even if even themselves didn't like it sometimes. The Beatles even changed the countries where they were censored!. It's beyond any rock and roll performer, beyond any artist, beyond any historical figure. Yesterday I was in a "Queen+Adam Lambert" show. Before the show there was a hardly audible audio of rock classics: Led Zeppelin, ACDC, Phil Collins... nobody sang anything until Hey Jude was played. Etc, what are we doing in 2016 already discussing this?
-
BTW, In the "Queen+Adam Lambert" nobody seemed to know what song was the opener. And, to my surprise, people seem not to know that We Are The Champions was the last song, as if it could be any other song... So, I guess no, people don't check setlists before buying tickets. But maybe if they don't like the setlist of a show they have attended they maybe won't buy the tickets for the next tour... (But, well, if the setlist is just the same in the next tour, maybe they don't like the repetition...) I feel like that girl playing bass with Paul in a youtube video has a bigger impact on tickets than the whole setlist.

"It was Linda who said, 'you've got to get it together...' and that led to Wings. I liked the idea of a band. I wanted to go back to square one. [But] we were terrible. We weren't a good group. People said, 'Linda can't play keyboards,' and it was true." http://www.bbc.com/news/entertainment-arts-36357574 AAAARRRGGGGGHHHHHH
:
Well done... A potential next setlist: 'If You've Got Trouble', 'You Like Me Too Much', 'Cold Turkey', because his own solo material is too shitty...
