Rather strange/bizarre categories with a mixed bag of entries in each. How could anyone decide? It comes down to pure guesswork. Not sure how/why they come up with so many awards with so many categories. They all just become meaningless....just another award show of which there are a gazillion.

I wanted to like that special..and in many respects I did...but I didn't love it, particularly some of the selected performers. I loved the Beatles interviews, the historical footage and some of the interviews with people there at the Ed Sullivan show...but as a whole the thing was just OK. IMO anyway. That said, would've been great to see it win the Emmy.

I assume this title was meant to be, more or less, tongue in cheek. Technically Mel Brooks didn't beat the Beatles. A special about him beat a special about the Beatles. As I said in your other post, I thought that special was just OK. Had the potential to be amazing. I would've preferred more of a retrospective documentary vs. a collection of some (average to pretty good) modern-day pop stars singing Beatles songs. John Legend was the only performance that sticks out in my mind from that show. Not a knock on the Beatles (trust me) more of a knock on some of the so-so talent they got to perform.

Funny, I can't remember what John Legend even did. I loved the Eurythmics Fool on a Hill & Dave Grohl & Jeff Lynn doing Hey Bulldog. I mean...who else has ever done Hey Bulldog?

Good call? Hey bulldog was pretty great. And there were some other highlights too I suppose. John legend did what I thought was an amazing duet with Alicia Keys and they performed Let it Be with the dueling pianos. It was pretty special.

oh yeah...Let It Be. See...I'd rather hear some songs that are a little different. Even Yesterday was not good for me..wasn't that Katie Perry? Terrible. Maroon 5 opened & they were pretty good too.
