Hey Paul are you really checking in here?

I would say he might be using an alias/pseudonym.
Another possibility is that he's wearing Buddy Holly glasses, where it would be difficult to recognize him!
-
@njr have you considered his 80 year old voice range may not be suited for some of his earlier music?
-
@carenlk You obviously haven’t been on this forum recently. His singing voice is a big topic here! I just mentioned in another post somewhere on here that he should lower the keys on his songs. My last post in this thread was talking about his 21st century songs, many of which he could still sing. I certainly don’t expect him to be able to sing a lot of his old songs! Physically impossible! He’s already dropped some of them, like The Long And Winding Road & Yesterday.
-
@njr 2 theories as to why he "does the same old songs". 1. Some fans have waited decades and decades. Or a lifetime to see him. Would they really let him leave the stage alive if he didn't do Yesterday, Band On The Run, or Hey Jude? I personally wish he would drop Yesterday and do She's Leaving Home, instead. But I think the fan's would hate it. And 2. The guy is now 80. If he did songs, lots of songs, that he's probably never done live before, that's a lot of lyrics for an 80 Yr old to remember. Just saying is all.
-
@wandy As I just mentioned, he has already dropped Yesterday. And P.S. He uses a teleprompter to show him the lyrics.
-
@njr Yikes!! He's dropped Yesterday??? I have to say I am surprised about that. I love Hey Jude, but he's done it to death, and Abe Aborial beats the cr*p out of that song, and all the other Beatles songs. Ringo didn't. I first saw Wings in 1976. Wings Over Wembley. I was hyper just receiving my ticket in the post. ÂŁ3.50p. Cost a fortune, I was only earning prolly less than ÂŁ25 a week. Did I tell you I went up on the Apple roof top in 2003 and 2009. Hallowed ground.
-
@njr The great man's voice has gone:::sad face:::
-
@wandy Yep. And I agree about Hey Jude! Done to death, but he will never drop it. That’s great you got on the Savile Row rooftop! How did you manage that? I tried to bribe one of the employees of Abercrombie Kids in 2016 to let us up there! Lol!

I saw Paul & Wings in Atlanta in 1976. THE.BEST.CONCERT.EVER. My ticket probably cost about $8.50. But I was making more than you were then. -
@ladyleslie He could use Paul McLennon. Or maybe, Macky McPaulney. Howsabout Harrison McStarkey. Or Lenmack Paulson. The fan's would never suspect anything, would they? What could possibly go wrong.
-
@njr First time on the Apple roof top was because my friend is a builder and he got a building job there for a while. He's a Beatles fan, I'm a Beatles fan and he had they keys to the building. You can guess the rest. Second time was with Richard Porter. There is a film of me on the Apple roof on my YouTube channel, but because I used Beatles music in the film, YouTube blocked my film due to Copyright infringement. Err thanks YouTube:-( Thanks for the link explaining the Apple building now. If I can find the picture of me holding the green plaque ( but now I think there is a blue one there ) that was going to go on the front of 3 Savile Row. The photo was taken inside 3 Savile Row. Also if I do find that photo I would have to figure out how to upload it here.
-
@wandy Very cool! And the plaque is blue. For some reason I didn’t get a photo of it in 2006 or 2011!Didn’t stop by this past Aug.
This is 2016, but I don’t see a plaque.

All those names sound great! Paul is very creative and has always had a great sparkling sense of humor, so he'd probably enjoy creating alter egos like he already has with Sergeant Pepper and Percy Thrillington and The Fireman! He definitely has the talent to be able to create all kinds of interesting characters, so anything is possible!

@njr The blue plaque was put up fairly recently. I held the original green plaque inside Apple in 2010. It took ages for the blue plaque to be erected on the front of the building. I thought it was never going to be done. I have a great story about a band who played on the Apple roof top. Can't tell it now. And the band isn't the Beatles.
