@njr Yes they are the same as my Toby Jugs. I paid £100 for all 4, in the 70s for them, a fortune back then. Now they are worth around £800 for 4. Of course I would never sell.
I got mine at an antique store in the ‘80s and paid more than you did. Mine are actually in my Will to go to my son! He’s a fan and goes to Beatles tribute band concerts with me!

@njr Love your pics. I tried uploading my pics. Couldn't do it, pic files too large ️
Thanks! Are you using a 3rd party uploader like Photobucket? That’s what I use. Little Willow posted directions to post photos right off your photo gallery on your phone, iPad or computer, but I haven’t tried that yet.

@njr I love tribute bands. Saw Elvis, the Elvis version was the army Elvis, the Beatles fave Elvis. Not the Las Vegas cat suit Elvis. ABBA ( Just the girls) ABBA were actually called FABBA. There was also a Rolling Stones Tribute band. The Counterfeit Stones. And closing the show was a Beatles tribute band. The Bootleg Beatles. It was a great show.
-
@wandy Found my George ticket pic - it was $8.50, not $7.50, but still a bargain! I think I only paid about $10-$12 for 1976 WOA ticket!
-
@njr YIKES!! My George tix were £20 plus booking fee and I had to buy 2. Well worth it though. Would easily do it again.
-
@njr I looked at the date on your ticket. 1974. That's why your tix were cheaper than mine. I saw George in 1991 ( or 1992 can't remember exactly)

Adam Hastings, who is from Northern England, used to play John in The Bootleg Beatles. Then he joined the best Beatles tribute band in the world-The Fab Four! When Covid hit he got stuck in Liverpool but ended up playing with the Cavern Beatles. Now he occasionally is back with The Fab Four. They won a Grammy for their concert on AXS. Look them up on YouTube!

It was definitely 1992 - I sent you a link as proof!
P.S. In my OP, I said I saw him in 1974! -
@njr We went to Chiswick House Gardens in 2006 with The Counterfeit Beatles, to commemorate the Beatles going there in 1966 to do the Rain and Paperback Writer promo films. They were great they did it all just for us, and for free. I filmed it. I think it's on my YouTube channel. If it is I will try and post it here. I hsve re edited it better since I posted it on Youtube, but it will give you some idea what a day we had.
-
@wandy Here is my film of The British Beatles Fan Club at Chiswick House Gardens with the Counterfeit Beatles. It won't be the best film you've ever seen, but hope yall like it anyway.

@wandy Says Video Unavailable ️

@njr Wha??? I just watched it in this forum. It might be because you are in America. Not available there, perhaps. A real shame

@wandy
I believe Jimmy wrote "Wino Junko" from "Wings At The Speed Of Sound". Denny contributed "Time To Hide" on that album and it is an excellent song. -
@yankeefan2 Yeah. Denny is a classy songwriter. ppl forget he co-wrote Mull of Kintyre with McCartney even though Paul wrote the bulk of the song. So sad Jimmy died so young, we will never know just what lay ahead for him. He was a professional musician at 15
-
@yankeefan2 Yeah, okay But....I believe Paul insisted they contribute because he wanted to "create a band", not just backup musicians...his idea and concept. That gave them the opportunity...or rather he gave them the opportunity, insisted on it. He wanted a band, but....it was still him people talked about...Paul and his backup musicians. Denny Laine, I will agree, was a bigger force and collaborated with Paul. Ultimately, Paul got him out because...Paul had the power to do it. He wasn't about to let Laine outshine him. They were his musicians. He would decide their fate....with him. It was always about Paul. He gave them all assignments for little songs to do or sing on Wings At The Speed of Sound, Wings Over America and maybe, Venus and Mars, to make them seem like a band, but everyone knew.

@beatles4ever-1 if you remember, originally the record company insisted the band be called, Paul McCartney And Wings. They were fearful nobody would know who the band was, they wanted Paul's name at the beginning so people would know it was Paul's group. I remember the wonderful story told in a book called BLACKBIRD. I highly recommend it if you like books. The story goes that Paul took Wings to his farm in Scotland for the first time, and put them up in his barn. They were not happy. The barn was a rat infested cr*p hole. They felt they deserved to be housed in the main house, UNTIL they saw the main house was an even bigger dump than the barn
-
@wandy Well, I love your story!!!
-
@beatles4ever-1 Lol!! Not my story. It actually happened. Its in the book. The book is a good read. I've read it twice. Though many year's apart. Books called BLACKBIRD.

@beatles4ever-1
Of course, it was Paul's band but once I again I am noting there was a difference between members of Wings and his current touring band. His touring band is treated like backup musicians/singers while members of Wings did write a few songs and did lead vocals on those songs. Look for "youtube" clip of Wings doing "Medicine Jar" live and it looks like Paul is having fun doing "backup vocals" on the song. I will also tell you I have seen some clips of songs like "Maybe I'm Amazed" from the Wings tour and Jimmy McCulloch was introducing the song to the audience. That is not something a backup band does, it says they were trying to be a real group with Paul as the obvious star. I will also point out Linda had her own song which she sang lead on with Wings, she never had one once Wings broke up and Paul went solo. -
@yankeefan2 Yes we all have our own take on it. I believe Wings was a proper band, not Paul's touring band. Re his current touring band. I struggle to remember who is Rusty Anderson, and who is the other guy. I know Abe Laboriole Jnr is the drummer, though I don't like his drumming style. He sure don't play them Beatles songs like Ringo. He's more a rock/metal drummer. Heavy handed. I never struggled to remember the Wings members. Although I do a bit now. After all these years.
