June 1976. I was 19 years old and travelling around the U.S. I happened to be in San Francisco with a friend on the same days that Wings Over America was playing at Cow Palace. I decided to go over and see if I could get a ticket. I took the S.F. city bus to Cow Palace and just as I stepped off, a guy walked up to me and asked if I needed a ticket. I said "yes, but how much do you want?" He said "15 dollars", which is exactly the amount I was prepared to spend. I bought the ticket and headed over toward the line, which was about 500 feet long and went around the entire arena. Just as I was passing the front of the line, someone kicked aside a sawhorse. I saw my opportunity, so I with several others walked in just as the doors were opening. It was a general admission concert, or "free seating" as they called it those days. I ran to the front of the stage, and there I stayed for the entire show. Stage front, watching Paul McCartney and Wings only a few feet away. It was an incredible show and a night I'll never forget. All because I took a chance that I might be able to get a ticket and went there. It was 16 years later until I saw Paul the second time on the New World Tour, and I have seen him several times since then, up to last year. Every time has been a great and wonderful experience!

RE: Love Songs
@atalayagreen I have Love Songs on vinyl. Two LP set on Capitol Records label from 1977. A beautiful package with printed lyrics in a parchment style booklet, and a gorgeous group photo by Richard Avedon in the gatefold cover. Maybe the best compilation of the unnecessary theme albums U.S. Capitol issued in the 70's and 80's.

this is probably fake (spelling mistakes !) but hopefully a grain of truth in there somewhere (rumours been going around all week about an upcoming tour !)
I hope it isn't true. I hate the thought that Paul might be doing his last ever tour, even if I know he's getting to the age where he'll have to retire.
I doubt anyone who watched or heard Paul at Glastonbury last June thought "now there's a man who needs to retire!" I heard an 80 year old man burn through a 3 hour set with energy to spare! To me it was just inspiring!

Speaking of the Archive Collection; when are we gonna see the last two Wings albums London Town and Back to the Egg reissued?!

RE: Paul McCartney- New Album for 2023
@njr Streaming has taken over as the predominant music listening format. The Vinyl comeback continues to grow. But even with all the beautiful Deluxe Box Sets, like McCartney's Archive Collection, CD sales are disappearing. There are fewer and fewer CD outlets, and even Target has gotten rid of most new CD releases. Sadly but true, the shiny silver disc which all but destroyed the Vinyl business, is nearly at its end.

RE: The Rarest Paul Song You Seen/Heard Him Perform Live
For me it was "I'll Get You" and "Please Please Me" on the 2005 US Tour. That whole show was full of surprises!
Some other rarities that come to mind were "Another Day" and "Good Rockin' Tonight" at the New World Tour concert  in '93, and "Venus and Mars/Rock Show" at the Hollywood Bowl in 2010.
But i guess by your "criteria" the only real rarity was Venus and Mars/Rock Show in 2010.

Was there, not sure if my brother took any video. Iâll have to check with him. It was a great show, wasnât it. Supposedly no one is further than 400 ft to the stage at the JOINT! I have some great still photos from that trip.
I was there too. It was a fantastic show, and Paul was in top form! I only have some photos and a few video clips I took on my cell phone. I have not seen a full video of this show, but I do have the complete bootleg of the concert on CD. Same cover as somebody posted. Excellent recording!
The Joint is now called The Theater at Virgin Hotels, after Virgin bought the Hard Rock. And now the Hard Rock Hotels just bought The Mirage on the Strip and they are going to build a new hotel there. It's where The Beatles LOVE theater is, so I wonder what is going to happen with their show?

RE: New album consisting of soundcheck tracks!

I know itâs not the most reliable source, but I just saw on facebook a post with a quote from Paul, announcing the release of an album with tracks from the soundchecks from the past years! That is the best idea ever! Realllllly looking forward to that, especially since attending a soundcheck is such a rare happening and you always miss out on some tracks you also really want to hear!
Actually, a lot of the songs on "the Russian album" Choba B CCCP he plays during soundchecks. That was just reissued. Maybe that's what he was referring to?

Last year the November/December concerts were announced in July, so maybe an announcement can still happen anytime between now and the next couple of months?
There are several European countries that have not seen the "Freshen Up" tour yet, for example.
The post on his Instagram said the show at Dodger Stadium was the end of the tour. So at least for this year, I don't think any more shows will happen.
Paul seems to have slowed down a bit: his pattern used to be more than 30 shows in the year, but he did 18 shows in 2018 and 21 shows in 2019; similar amount in both years, so perhaps it's his new pattern. He has already toured Canada, USA, Japan, South America and 6 countries in Europe. I think Australia is too far way for him to return, since he was there not so long ago.
It's time for the man get some rest and really "freshen up" things for next year.
I compared Paul's setlist from the 2014 Out There concert at Petco Park and the 2019 Freshen Up concert at the same...the only repeats were Nineteen Hundred and Eighty Five, Maybe I'm Amazed, I've Just Seen A Face, Blackbird, Here Today, Queenie Eye, Lady Madonna, Eleanor Rigby, Being For the Benefit of Mr. Kite, Something, Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da, and the finish of set one -
- Band on the Run
- Back in the U.S.S.R.
- Let It Be
- Live And Let Die
- Hey Jude
For the encore both shows had Helter Skelter, Golden Slumbers, Carry That Weight, and The End.
Out of 38 songs, there were 20 repeats. And a total of 6 numbers I have never seen him do before. Given that the energy level, the performance, and the production were much better than 5 years ago, it felt pretty "fresh" to me!

Anyone selling a ticket or tickets for this?
There's a lot of tickets on the reseller site Stubhub. Wait 'til the day before, or the day of the concert and you will get a ticket for face value or less. (It's just a tip, I've done it before)
Ah! Â Fantastic!! Thanks for the tip!
Also, just noticing your sig. Â Were Paul and Ringo at the LA Convention Center in 2014??!?! Â How did I miss this!? Lol
Yes, Paul and Ringo played together that night. They also bowed together at the end, just like The Beatles did at the end of every show. It was just amazing to be there!
