Yea, Ticketmaster, Eventim and such charge enormous money for the delivery. It costs usually 30-40 Euro only inside Europe, which is insane. CrodSurge on the other hand charges reasonable prices, so they would not lose on the E-Tickets. The only reason I can think of, why they issue paper tickets just a short time before the show, is to avoid scalping as much as possible, since I am sure it makes it waaay more difficult for scalpers than if thay have months to do their bussiness. It is a great policy from that point of view, but it might cause bad trouble to real fans who only want their tickets. Well, I don't know, maybe the real reason is different anyway. But there is no way to avoid scalping without causing other problems I guess. For instance U2 issued their standing tickets for some of their 2015 shows only as mobile tickets, so the one who bought it must have his mobile phone with him, plus an ID and the card the tickets were paid with. It sounds great, but I wonder how it will be possible to check IDs and cards of some 7000 or so standing fans. If it works, then that would be probably the best way to aviod scalpers, but I can imagine a huge mess in front of the arenas. I really wonder...I will learn it in September
I think retina scanning while you buy your ticket online and retina scan when you enter the Arena, the only way to go. The U2 option sounds good, but imagine trying to get 50.000 punters into a stadium that way, it would take forever!
