RE: Paul McCartney- New Album for 2023
Hello everyone,
I am curious what kind of music style you would like to hear when Paul releases a new album of originals? What would you prefer? I would like a âbass heavyâ album. Preferably with another bass than the Hofner. Or at least some tracks with other basses. I would also really like another piano rocker. And last of all I would be very curious how a song would sound when Paul throws in a little 80s. But on the other hand, that is going on so much right now that I hope he is not going in that direction. In the end I just want a real Paul sound and I canât wait to hear what his latest sound is. Slidin and Long tailed winterbird sounded so fresh.
I would like to hear your thoughts!

RE: Forum acting up again???
@wandy yeah, I think all we can do now is be patient
I check the forum very regularly now, because I think something might be announced very soon, so itâs a pitty you canât access it now :S

RE: Forum acting up again???
@oobu24 yeah, Iâm also encountering problems. For example when I open the âNot such a bad boy threadâ, I receive the message that an internal error has occurred and that the connection was lost. This happened throughout the entire day and was not solved by logging out and in again. Is this a known issue? Thanks in advance!

RE: Cheese & Grain, Frome - June 24, 2022
Wow, this is a cool suprise! And so is the announcement that the setlist won't be the usual setlist! I guess this is what we've been wanting to see! I hope someone makes some cool video's! Enjoy, for the people that are actually going!

RE: Set List critique
Hello everyone,
Having seen the setlists of the tour so far, we can say that this is probably it. Not much changes from concert to concert. I do think that Glastonbury is likely to have a different setlist; it is a festival with a special occasion after all... Paul has said that he doesn't know what they will do exactly, but they have some tricks up their sleeve. In the past we also saw him perform some alternative setlist on special occasions. What do you think? Is it likely that we will get the much desired changes in the setlist for Glasto?
Thanks!

Some interesting responses from fans.  My first reaction was that some fans have to be realistic.  Someone was pushing for more Ram Songs.  I get it but you have to remember that Paul was like in his early 30's when he recorded Ram and he has been incessantly touring for like 50 years since Ram.  The  problem is that Paul couldn't sing well most of the songs from Ram with his current voice.  I keep going back to the fact that in my opinion Paul sings best on songs from his more recent albums.  It makes sense since during the recording of those songs on McCartney 3, Egypt Station, or New... Paul had his "older" voice.
I noticed that vocally Paul sounded real good on "Womens and Wives" (from McCartney 3) in Spokane the other night. He also sounded good on "My Valentine" (from the "Kisses" album) as well as "Come On To Me" from Egypt Station.  I think Paul is confused about what the hard core fans want.  We don't mind that his current Setlist is Beatle heavy but what we want are different choices of his newer songs on this "Got Back" tour than what Paul and Band did in 2018/2019.  For example, on his tour 3 years ago he did "Come On to Me" and "Fuh You".  Instead of those recent songs, give us "I Don't Know" or "Dominoes" also from Egypt Station.  He did "I Don't Know" on several Soundchecks in 2019 and looking at the Youtube video from the Soundcheck in Glasgow in 2019, he sounded real good.  Instead of "Fuh You" now give us "I Don't Know" which is, in my opinion, a way better song.  I think "I Don't Know" is one of his very best Solo songs ever.  And give us more than 1 song from his latest album McCartney 3.  I think Paul can  sing these new songs better now than some of the old songs because Paul did the McCartney 3 songs with his older voice.  The other thing is that it would so cool to hear "Seize the Day", "Slidin" and "Find My Way" with the full band including the horn players.  They would be a little different than what you got on the album.
That is all we're hoping for.  You don't have to change the whole setlist.  The last thing that would help if you change a few of the 2nd tier Beatle songs (not signature songs like Blackbird or Hey Jude) that you have done on the last few tours to different Beatle songs this time around.  Instead of Mr. Kite or In Spite of All the Danger, think about songs like Rocky Raccoon, I Want to Hold Your Hand, or Two Of Us.  Think about Beatle songs you have never done or rarely done on previous tours.  This would make "Got Back" a little better for your biggest fans and "Beatle Only" fans would love them too.
Was this basically the post you wrote in You Gave Me The Answer on paulmccartney.com that got deleted?
Repost it!
I agree! This is a great opportunity to share these views and opinions and this one really makes sense because it safisfies everybodyÂ
I will also write something tonight, to express my own view on this topic. I also think he should make other choices in general (more solo stuff and don't stick to certain  songs so long). But besides that, I also wish he'd do more songs that fit with recent events, like Ukraine. I think Paul is someone who could bring people together with his music and I would really love it if he'd play a song like Hope of deliverance. With a good introduction, this kind of addition could really make the concerts even more special than they already are. I also hope he does make the Glasto concert a bit special...

Hello everyone! The release of Mccartney III Imagined is already some months ago now. However, Paul is always developing new music. We learned about a new song that he played in the 3, 2, 1 documentary for instance. He also said in one of the online conversations that accompanied the release of Imagined, that he was working on a song with a young producer (I forgot his name). So the last few weeks I was wondering when Paul will release new music? I donât think it will be in the near future, since his precious output has been relatively recent. Maybe some new music will accompany the new book in november? what do you think? Thanks!
He is writing the music for the musical "It's A Wonderful Life" and until it actually goes on stage, he will be needed for re-writes and maybe additional music. Nobody sems to have any idea when this musical may actually be done. That may not be the trype of music you are looking for but it will be new music.
True and true
Good point!

Which radiostation and what was the time? Sounds promising! I had tickets for Nijmegen last year...

Back on topic, sadly "McCartney III" has already dropped down to #37 in Billboard charts. I assume it will be out of the top 100 soon. I just wonder, can an older artist have a popular album anymore that stays in the charts for a month or so. "McCartney III" had everything you would think it needs to sell decently, critical acclaim, publicity from McCartney being on the cover of "Rolling Stone" with Taylor Swift, McCartney appearing on the "Tonight Show With Jimmy Fallon" and being released around Christmas which made people aware of the album.
Good question! Who knows about similar artists that have been at the top of the charts for longer than one week? Bob Dylan maybe with his last album? Springsteens Letter to you? I must say that the last week or so, itâs also reasonably quiet on Mccartney social media. No more TV appearence, podcasts and so on. I thought that would still go on in the first weeks after the release to keep the momentum going...

Hi there! I wanted to get back on the question whether I hear songs from Mccartney lll on the radio here (in the Netherlands) and actually I do! I heard Find my way several times. I also heard Deep deep feeling which was introduced really nice. And I heard Women and Wives once. All on the same radio station btw. Iâm sure I will hear it more often the next weeks.
I donât think that any accoustic type song will appeal to a large (new) audience. Iâd say that Slidinâ has the most potential to do so. It sounds fresh and heavy and that alone can get some real attention because a lot of people still think of Paul as the guy with all those silly, mellow love songs.
I just think Europe is more receptive to playing new McCartney music than the US and glad to know you are hearing it on radio.
Yeah! I must say I really am thrilled everytime I hear one on the radio! Itâs because itâs so rare to hear one of his solo songs spontaneously on the radio. Most of the time you put his music on by yourself. Besides that, it feels like some kind of appreciation when his music gets played on the radio and I think he really deserves that.

Yeah, it was really cool! He gave some really interesting answers to questions I had myself as well. Like he wants to sort of collaborate with Bob Dylan, thinks about using his ârickyâ bass again and thought that the last live gig he played live was one of the best gigs ever! There was some doubt about what he said about that gig in an interview, so itâs actually really positive

RE: PAUL ON BBC TV
Cool! Not that I can watch it unfortunately, so I hope it will find its way to youtube or something
But for my understanding; is it a new show or a rerun and is he going to perform or is it an interview? Thanks!
