Is it a time-traveling platform? (yes, we know you meant Austin).

RE: Lewisohn's Book
SusyLuvsPaul:
I've got his huge book on daily events in the Fabs' lives especially about their recording studio sessions. It's kind of dry stuff, although crammed with info. So this tome will be more of a regular biography and not a "diary" type thing focusing mostly on their recording activities? In that case, want to read it.
I've got that book, too. And yes, these 3 are supposed to be the definitive biography

John was going to tour in 81, and mentioned performing I Want To Hold Your Hand. Alas...
Source please.
Many places. Off the top of my head, Peter Doggett's excellent book "You Never Give Me Your Money"

RE: New DVD from Out There Tour
fletch:
Paul should do what Peter Frampton does on his tour stops. Offer a copy of the soundboard from each venue's concert. Ironically enough, Abbey Road Studios were responsible for his live soundboard cd. Wife and I got ours within 30 minutes of Peter's concert here back in 2011.
This would be a great idea!

The cameras are there for every show.
Right. I'm wondering if there will be a DVD that compiles footage from multiple shows. *shrug* Just an idea.

RE: Lewisohn's Book
VERY confusing. The thing that puts me off is the price. As a Beatles nut, I of course would prefer the 1800 page UK edition, but that's 125 POUNDS, which is something like $180. I can get the US edition, which is 1200 pages and has all of the footnotes, for $40. I could buy volumes 2 and 3 and still have spent less money TOTAL than the UK edition of volume 1!

RE: Rockshow in Theatres
I think I'm going to go see it by myself on June 8 when it plays in Concord. None of my friends who are as rabid a fan as me live close enough. But I'm confused that it's playing in Concord, 45-min north of me, but not in Boston which is an hour south of me. Weird. EDIT: Nevermind, it's showing in Concord on JULY 8...which is the night before I'm seeing Paul FOR REAL in Boston. Plus it's a Monday night...

RE: New DVD from Out There Tour
It does look like they're professionally recording the gigs, though...the boom cranes with cameras at the gigs, and if you go to his official YouTube channel, the quality of the footage is excellent (like the "grasshopper" video). It's not out of the realm of possibility!

Children Children was to be given to MJ to sing, I dont know that it was written *specifically* for him.
As far as i'm aware it was only Girlfriend from London Town that was offered to MJ not Children Children.
That's what I'd read a while back, too. Just Girlfriend.

RE: What are you wearing to the concert?
MaccaGirl90:
Here's the problem I have with people wearing Beatles shirts to his shows... It's a PAUL SOLO SHOW. Not a Beatles concert. I mean it's been 43 years since he was a Beatle. I don't get it...
So what? Paul was *in* the Beatles, FFS! I went to a Page and Plant show in '98 and loads of people were wearing Led Zeppelin shirts (myself included) and it was just fine. I've talked to several friends who have been to Paul shows in the past who said there are always loads of Beatles shirts. I guess I don't see what the issue is in wearing one?

RE: Skip tracks...
I mainly just skip the non-Paul sung Wings tracks. Otherwise, I usually try to listen to everything

Wings much better than the Beatles it really is that simple
Shall we have the debate that without the Beatles, the greatest band ever, there most likely would not have been Wings.

I love Wings but they aren't better than the Beatles by any stretch, at least in my opinions. Wings was a damn good fucking band...The Beatles was a once-in-a-lifetime confluence of the perfect 4 talented people who had a bond like no other, at the right time, with the right producer. Revolutionary.

RE: Lewisohn's Book

DrBeatle:
I hope so! I was talking to a friend who has some inside connections who usually has good info when it comes to things Beatles-related who seemed to think that was the final design. I hope you're right, but it seems odd that the official Twitter page for that book would hype up the cover reveal last week for a placeholder, don't you think? :
I think that photo on your avatar would be a bitchin' cover!
I'm a little confused and truthfully a bit irked that the US edition will only be 1200 while the UK edition will be either 800 or 1800 pages...the price difference between all three makes it more of a choice than it deserves to be ($40 for the US edition vs. $125 for the UK 1800 page one! )

Cook of the House, heard it once years ago - never again.
Yeah, that's one I always skip, too. Same with Wino Junko on that album...yuck!

RE: Boston, MA - Fenway Park - July 9, 2013 - ARCHIVE
Thanks for the info! I've got seats on the third base line close behind the visitor's dugout. I sat in almost the same box last time I went to a game last year, so I was trying to use that (and the seat-finder online) to visualize. Oh well, it'll be what it'll be...important thing is I'll be there! I hope we have good weather, too...it's rain or shine but I'm hoping in July it'll be a nice evening. We'll see!
