I guess pinching IS an American tradition, Dawn. Fiona, it's not Irish, is it??? On St Patrick's Day, anyone not wearing green can be pinched! Some people are lucky enough to be armed with green eyes. The rest of us just have to do the best we can! I'm prepared, don't worry. dollierocker, I can't promise to wear a feather boa for you, but I'll think green thoughts while I'm at the show. How's that???? Feel better soon! Who else will be at Brian's show?

it's actually very bad news when you have no rain in the desert. Today is day 126 with no rain, not a drop. Next summer we will have drought conditions to be sure, no washing cars, watering lawns, etc....cause if there's no rain or snow up in the mountains, there's nothing to melt in the spring to fill up the resevoirs...so it's very dry days ahead for us desert-folk... I would KILL for a nice rainy evening - love to fall asleep to the sound of rain
Well , i hope you get some rain soon then Sue .

My mom calls this a.m., says "Did you watch that music thing on TV last night?" I said no, that after watching an equine thing on Animal Planet, I had to race out and run some last-second errands. She says "Well, Dusty was on it. I just happened to turn it on when Paul McCartney was on with Dusty and that blond guy. I taped it for you. They always show more of the blonde than Dusty, but the blonde is much better looking." I was 16 when I first started seeing Rusty's band Eulogy. I am 44. She has the CD (she had to have one since my name is on the credits, LOL), and to this day she still calls him Dusty. I have given up trying to get her to call "the blonde" by his name.
Corinne, that is TOO funny! I can just picture you shaking your head! Dusty/Rusty looked great at the Grammys....love that grin! But, I have to agree with your mom....."the blonde" IS a cutie!!!! Gotta love our mothers!

Have you all seen the new interview here: http://www.mwe3.com/ It's great! Brian talks about about MM and some of the collaborations that it involved. He also talks a bit about his guitars and working with Paul.
Thanks Caroline ... it's a very good one ,isn't it !
That's a good interview, Caroline. Thanks for posting the link! I hadn't seen it before. Only one more day [in the US] until the Grammys!!! YAY!!!! Good luck, Paul!!! Dawn, Caroline, sorry y'all have to wait an extra day.....but at least you'll get to see it!

Did anyone get to watch Brian on " Good Day LA " today ? Was it just Brian , or the rest of the band and Paul ?? [ We don't get the channel here ! ] So .. how did it go ?
I was able to tape it. I would have preferred to stay home from work to watch it, but, somehow, I didn't think watching Brian on tv was an excuse my boss would accept! Imagine that.....
No .... I don't think that would have been a good enough excuse Ronna !! Glad you managed to watch it anyway.
I don't know, Dawn........I would have understood perfectly well if a co-worker had told me that was their reason for staying home from work!!

I was able to tape it. I would have preferred to stay home from work to watch it, but, somehow, I didn't think watching Brian on tv was an excuse my boss would accept! Imagine that..... Brian, Rusty, and Wix were on the show and they were being asked questions about working with Paul, etc. They were all great, but, instead of showing them on camera during the questions and answers, footage from BITUS was shown! That was a bit of a disappointment. They did get in plugs for MM and UU, however! That was cool!!

YES! It was quite the unusual jam, wasn't it??? There was a whole lot of talent on that stage in Santa Barbara!! I'm so glad I was able to be there!

I think it's amazing what a difference Wix on his accordion can make. I loved Here, There And Everywhere on the '02/'03 Tours.
Me too.
I know what you mean! Wix also played on "Tears of a Clown" in Santa Barbara. He and Brian and Pete had quite the jam session going on during that one! Very impressive!

Did anyone here go to Brian's show in Santa Barbara ???? So....How did it go ????
I DID!! I DID!!! How did it go??? How about OUT OF THIS WORLD!!!! Doesn't matter where Brian plays..........the show is always FANTASTIC!!!!!! He looked and sounded GREAT!!! The band was awesome too. There were several people I recognized from previous shows, although I didn't know everyone's names. Not the same as a "home" crowd, but the response was wonderful. Afterwards, Brian made his way through the crowd, speaking to everyone and signing a few autographs. Always the inimitable Mr. Ray! Biggest surprise of the evening?? WIX! He came onstage with his accordion and played "All I Know" for a new twist on that ballad. That was really good! The crowd recognized Wix as well, and he got a great reception. That was the only ballad that Brian played, but he did include "Tears of a Clown" and the crowd went wild! Great night, great venue! Mike Campbell and the Dirty Knobs were terrific as well. Thanks again, Brian, for another fantastic evening!!

It WAS an amazing show, wasn't it??? I loved "All I Know" with the added instruments of Rusty and Wix! It sounded even better than the cd! Longer guitar solos, Caro, and more improvisation, I thought. You'll have to get someone else to tell you about the guitars. You know I'm hopeless at paying attention to those details!!! Made some "new" "old" friends and managed to actually order and EAT dinner before Brian took the stage. That was quite the accomplishment! Food was wonderful, as usual. The crowd was great! Not just in the size, but in the attitude as well. Jake Labotz and the Mojo Monkeys put on great shows as well. All in all, I think the night was just about perfect! Sure hope Brian feels the same way!!!
I'm sure he does!!!! Sounds like a great evening....oh I wish I could have been there!! I was trying to imagine how All I Know would sound with a accordian. Can you remember if Brian played an acoustic at all?
I wish you could have been there too ! I think that when Brian played "If you're leaving me" , he played an acoustic guitar then .But it really did sound beautiful ! And yes , " All i know" sounded great with Wix playing the accordian , and i think ?? that Rusty played accoustic guitar ?
Yes, he did play acoustic on "If You're Leaving Me." It was wonderful! Sure hope he keeps the ballads in the setlist for all future shows!

So I was gonna go, really. Had finally sorted it out Was gonna go see Constantine at HOB in Anaheim on Wednesday (I do not drive up to LA on a weeknight unless, say, David Lee Roth would rejoin Van Halen), but had this thought that just maybe it would have left me wiped on on Thursday and did not go ... ...which is a good thing, because at 12:45 on Friday a.m., I was right there when my little niece Annika was born! Got home at 2:30 on Friday a.m. and went to work anyhow that day. Had to go to LA on Saturday a.m., then drive back and do the horses, and then was going to go back up for the show, but I gotta tell ya, I was wiped out. I never would have made it back on Saturday night, I'd have fallen asleep right there, facedown on the table. Hope you guys had a blast - Dawn and Fiona, sorry I missed you!
Yeah, yeah, Corinne...........we've heard it all before....... You missed a really, really, really great show!!!! Congratulations on your new niece! Hope she shares your love of horses and music!
