RE: TOTALLY UNEXPECTED songs/moments @ McCartney concerts
BarbB:
It has occurred to me that many people have problems with my setlist. Whether it is the lack of Wings/Solo songs, vs Beatles songs or vice versa, some people just can't be satisfied with my choices. I'll let you know that I pick the songs through a careful process called shut the *bleep* up and be happy I'm playing anything at all. This process allows me to play songs while the listener mindlessly sings along without any complaints, because I could sing the *bleeping* alphabet and you would still be in amazement. However, I will help you out by listing some songs that I'll have in my line up to sing live when Hell freezes over. Which means there is still a very slim chance that it could happen, seeing as I am capable of indeed, freezing it over. In no particular order: 10 - Baby, You Know It's True 9 - Temporary Secretary 8 - Ou Est Le Soleil 7 - Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey 6 - Monkberry Moon Delight 5 - Check My Machine 4 - Darkroom 3 - Be What You See 2 - Give Us A Chord, Roy 1 - The Other Me The reason for your affection, Paul
That was great! You made my day!!

Weather for Friday high of 84 low of 69, partly cloudy, pretty much the same for Saturday. Should be in the low 70's around 800. Pretty good weather for a weekend in July in NYC, at the great Yankee Stadium for the even greater Mr. Paul McCartney! Should be a very special night !!!! 2 long days left!

peteooooo I didn't get a chance to read your post before I left for the show. Funny, I wound up at PD O'Hurleys on W 72nd. A few pints of Harp and I was ready for the show. I thought they sounded real good, loved the orchestra.

paulmccartneyfan1 That's the problem, we can't get a definitive answer. You would think it would be on the seating diagram!

UPS just dropped off the tickets. Instead of the usual ticketmaster printed format, these are a bit larger with the outline of the Yankee Stadium in the backround. Really nice for those who keep tickets to the concerts they attend. BTW is anyone in NY going to see Deep Purple tonight?

dsmpaul I agree with you. The difference between seat 1 being in the middle as opposed to the outside is night and day. I'm in the middle section for Friday so seat number isn't important. For Saturday I played it safe with seat number 15, I'm assuming somewhere in the middle. I was trying to get seats for a friend and sec 5 came up with seats 1 and 2. I think they are on center aisle but passed because I wasn't sure, if I was wrong I didn't want to stick her on the outside. I can't see why all arena's and stadium's can't add the seat numbers to their seat maps.

So facing the stage they run right to left, sec A3 seat 1 would be the seat furthest from sec A4, and If there were 25 seats in sec A3 the section then seat 25 would be near sec A4

I called Yankee Stadium about how the ticket numbers run on the floor left to right or right to left. I called 3 times and after waiting and being switched around I got 2 completely different answers and 1 I don't know, and I don't know who would. Anybody else get any seat number info?

MacGirl glad to see you're back. When you figure out how, I would love to see the pictures from Philly, especially the one's with the signed drumhead!

Triplets Love Paul So happy to hear the triplets under normal circumstances, would love to dress up. Enjoy every minute of it! I have such great memories of the 05 tour with him rockin to the Man with his Sgt pepper suit. I'm hoping my son will be in NY on July 15th, if he is he will be there. Thanks for remembering it was MacGirl with the original answer to the seating question, you are right on top of everything! She sat 1 row behind me in Philadelphia. She was a lot of fun. I haven't seen her post here in a while. I was hoping she had some pictures of Paul signing the drumhead. Where are you MacGirl? JOYCE Row 6 the lucky row, that's great!! I hope you are sitting next to us, but you will probably get much more of Paul's attention sitting next to DrivinFan also in row 6. I think he has all the right connections, especially at sound check!!!

Triplets Love Paul, I'm always happy to hear you and the children are going to the concerts, that is great!! Do they still dress up? Tiggywinkle That's a good question on how many seats across there are in a row. I don't know. To help you with your other question, I called a lot of the concert halls for Paul's last US tour and as a rule of thumb (but not in all venues but most) I was told most of the time that the lower seat number would be next to the lower sections. Example row 1 seat 1 in section 102 would be closest to sec 101, the highest number seat in row 1 sec 102 would be closest to sec 103. I'm pretty sure that is how it worked on the floor in Pittsburgh, Philadelphia, and Nashville. Somebody on this board gave a similiar explanation for Paul's last US tour. Can anybody confirm this. When I called most of the concert halls the people were very helpful if you could get them on the phone. DrivinFan, Sheepboy Row 6 seems to be lucky for us! Anybody else in row 6?

Everybody... Thanks for the heads up. I logged on at 955 this morning and after reading on Ticketmasters site about the VIP packages going on sale this morning in 5 minutes I kept trying on there to get tickets with no results. I came back to Paul's website and saw your message and went to the link. It was so easy getting tickets, even after I started so late. I got tickets in row 6. I wonder when (if) they are going to announce a Saturday show.Sir Paul in July at the Great Yankee Stadium, it doesn't get better than that!!!!

Once Again what a great show!! Paul was late for sound check and they were suppose to open the doors by 600, so i thought we would get a shorter sound check. Instead he played for an hour or so and I was told by the people working the sound check that the doors would be opening later when Paul was finished. The sound at this new arena was excellent, and as usual Paul's voice sounded great! Congratulations Alvita!! Keep the pictures coming!
