@cb70 after the singles collections announcement, I am now inclined to believe that the Archives has fizzled out. Consider the release of the recent collections, first McCartney I,II, III and now boxed singles. If you don’t mind my asking, what is the source of your information on the next deluxe including the 1982 Cold Cuts?

RE: Paul McCartney 2023 Rumors
Not sure where you are but like many others here, saw him on the Got Back tour back in the Spring. In the past, when he has toured, he would have followed up those concerts elsewhere, maybe Europe and South America, then maybe back here for additional shows. I had expected him to do just that this fall, maybe Charlotte or Atlanta. Well, after leaving he played a small venue in England before huge show at Glastonbury. He called that the end of the tour and thus far no more tour dates. At age 80,he may just show up at special concerts like he did recently for Taylor Hawkins Memorial concert in London. Time will tell.

@wandy it is a toss up between London Town with Tower Bridge appearing and Wild Life since it looks like such a pretty sot.

RE: THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL
@poupou we may be past the time for announcing the long awaited London Town and Back to the Egg deluxe. A combined package would lend itself to including the DVD of Wing’s 1979 UK tour, there last one. Of course, the reissue of Revolver has just came out so perhaps the final two Wing will come out in March like Flowers in theDirt, March 2017.

This is the type of thing that ticks me off with Paul. All these years we would have loved him to do this song and only now does he perform it due to Chrissie's request. Obviously at 80, Paul can't do justice to this song and it was good idea for Chrissie to do most of the singing. That being said, he could have done this 25-30 years ago but never thought of it.
I thought the same thing. Maybe it's the perfectionist in him? 30 years ago he probably thought he couldn't do it justice and then 10 more years passed and then another 10. There's a life lesson in there somewhere.
Good point and the life lesson is one he sang about recently… “Do It Now”. Best not delay things as the years and bad health can catch up sooner than we think.

RE: “On My Way To Work”
Wow! Time flies, I thought I saw that you were over there a few weeks ago and I have to remind myself we are approaching the middle of October. Look forward to more photos.

Are you in Liverpool now? Know you were in London recently. Hope to make it back over in the Spring of next year

Paul just did Oh Darling with Chrissie Hynde at the Tribute Concert for Taylor Hawkins on 9-3-22.
Definitely a live rarity, I think the one and only live time fr that one.

Amazing he would do that as that can be a vocal chord shredder. Will check YouTube. Thanks!

Just caught half of Helter Skelter he did with others there, not his own band. What else did he do?

I'm in London now and going to Henley-On-Thames tomorrow. we'll probably be knackered after a full day there. Would be cool to see Paul though! How much were the tickets you got? P,S. It's sold out.
We did see his London home on the 31st and a light was on in the ground floor left front room,
Enjoy London! Great exchange rate right now, we hope to go back there next year.

I have been listening to this song recently, on both RRS as well as the "work up" track from the bonus on the RRS deluxe edition from 2018. An article that came out June in the Guardian for his 80th birthday rated the song 15th out of what the author sees as his best 30 post-Fabs songs. Writer of the article, Alexis Petridis, says it is "one of the loviest melodies McCartney has ever written." Superlatives follow-"utterly gorgeous, inexplicably moving. " Wikipedia has someone callling it "haunting." I have been a fan since the late 1960s and I recall when this song came I was baffled by the lyrics but found the melody beautiful but at the same time conveying the emotion of sadness, unlike most of his songs.
I have never considered the lyrics the strong point either and Paul did not include it in his Lyrics book from last November.
So what in the heck does this song mean to you? I regret he didn't include it in his Working Classical CD from 1999 and would love to hear that melody with full orchestra
Little Lamb Dragonfly is probably my favorite song by Paul, I love it. It's beautiful, but in a haunting kind of way, as you mentioned. Happy but with a melancholy tinge. It makes me think of the countryside, and I think has a little bit of a Celtic feel to it too.
I, too, love that Celtic feel,

Agree 100% John. Little Lamb Dragonfly along with Single Pidgeon are 2 of Paul's greatest Deep Cuts in Paul's Discography. The problem with the original Red Rose Speedway was the 2nd half. It should have been what Paul wanted all along...a Double Album. Paul had so many up-tempo and Rock oriented songs that were missing from the original RRS.
I agree, especially after getting the deluxe version of RRS, something I had held off doing until just this summer as I have mainly purchased the two disc versions. It does work much better on the double album, as do all the other songs.

RE: Paul Mccartney 2022 - rumours
Almost September and no dates for anywhere announced. Possible reason-increasing talk of sky-jhigh energy costs in UK/Europe as a by-product of the Ukraine War. Financial networks on cable TV discuss energy rationing, evening brown-outs, recession. Not a positive backdrop and perhaps large events in the evening dependent on electricity will be limited and discouraged.

Apparently, at Glastonbury he said that it was the last night of the Got Back tour. That surprised me as I thought it would continue with UK/European, and South American dates. Perhaps these will occurr in the autumn as part of a newly named tour?
Or maybe he plans on recording new music!!!!!!
Maybe so, and also putting the finishing touches on deluxe Londontown and Back to the Egg. Let's hope

I'll put some context to that mini rant, it's just when he started got to get you into my life I surprised myself by selling up from nowhere - it reminds me of all the gigs I've been to, he played it at my first in 1990, buying revolver Xmas 86, just my life. Paul's been my life, as he is for many here, but when you older (47) and an illness that gives you an uncertain future, you realise what has meant things to you the most, and Paul has made me so happy. And I'm happy he's still here, and his voice isn't what it was but it's not that bad. I get sick of negativity from fans. I love him, I'm glad he's not dead. And I wish I wasn't ill. Night night, I'm watching Paul on telly.
I agree 100%! Like I said a few weeks ago here on another thread, everybody has the right to their opinions and posts, but it just goes on and on here, it never stops. I'm not saying everybody has to be sunshine and roses all the time, but the amount of negativity that goes on here... good grief. No matter what Paul does or says, the negativity comes out and it's getting old.
Perspective from a life-long older fan:
May 30, 2019 Paul plays Greenville, S C. And I am on the sofa at home recuperating from over two weeks in hospital and rehab from severe sodium depletion. It would have been my 18th concert;I gave our tickets to our son's. Parents-in-law.
May 31, 2022--Fully recovered and made it through the pandemic, I catch the Got Back tour in Knoxville, Tn. No McCartney III in set list, yes, four numbers would have been nice but in big picture doesn't matter, thankful I am alive alive and well as is Macca and that he still WANTS to hit the road after all these years, so rock on!

RE: The Final Tour??
Sort of neat, it is fifty years after the first Wings tour, cheap prices at University unions so maybe this Frome thing is a little bit of nostalgia for the early 1970s. I have my own 70s nostalgia for the other end of the decade so I know how it is, mine centering on wrapping up my graduate work, etc. I wasn't performing live!
