He did Junior's Farm during the soundcheck, not the main show. Also just want to say that I've been lurking on the threads about Paul's demise, and about 2/3 of the way through the show the thought of them popped into my head, and I had to laugh because they were so inconsistent with what I was seeing. Paul is still the ultimate entertainer, and I didn't think about his voice a single time the entire show, other than that moment, because his performance was flawless. At least from what I observed up front, there was a tremendous vibe in the crowd, the audience could not have been more excited, and everyone I overheard while leaving talked about how amazing it was (as usual). I'm just not seeing someone who needs to hang it up anytime soon. He might still decide to at any point for his own reasons, but when you're still keeping 50K folks at a time fully engaged, and 200 people pay thousands of dollars just to see your soundcheck and love every second, it certainly doesn't seem necessary. Still the best out there, and I hope I'll continue seeing him for a long time.
"I didn't think about his voice a single time the entire show, other than that moment, because his performance was flawless." NY Newsday did not think his voice was flawless, said it was less pliable but he made the best of it.
I agree with that review, watching my videos back his voice seems a bit more wobbly but during the show it was just awesome. Some parts he just killed it ("In Spite of All the Danger"). Obviously, having seen him in 2011, his voice has gotten older every time. That being said, I thought tonight was far better than I expected and I can see him going on until age 76, maybe 77 if he wants to. Barclays June 8 2013 was his best vocal performance I've seen, but holy shit the venue and audience sucked, and Paul was a bit reserved and uptight that night. Not my favorite show.
