I just voted Harley. Sam is at number 5. We need some more votes to get him to number 1.

RE: Sam Leach - KEEP
Sam I was wondering if there are any early recordings of the beatles available. The onesof them at the Cavern. I would love to hear how they sounded back then. It is too bad Eppy amde them change from black leather jackets to ties and jakcets. Do you have any links to where i can hear them or do you have any recordings and could you put them on your website?

Mike at least this reply went through. I guess everyone has different opinions as to who their favorite beatle is. Yes MAcca is known as the one who worries whether people like him or not and yet even if he doesn't do things people like he gets called cold hearted. Paul himself said in one book about how he was into avant garde stuff before John except he didn't publicize it like John did and said if he doesn't say anything he gets called the wimp of the group if he does it looks like he is sullying John. I think sometimes the critics expect too much of him. He put Linda in the band when it wasn't cool to do so so I would say that he didn't worry too much what people thought of that. I've read about John being insecure too and protested about Cold Turkey slipping down the charts. As for their music if it sounds good I like the song. For me Paul's msuic sounds the best so I listen to him. Let'Em In is known to have cheesy lyrics by some but the music sounds so good. IT has a 70s sound which I love. Same with Silly Love Songs. I'd say John's lyrics ahve good meaning like Imagine and All You NEed Is Love. I usually listen to Macca to feel good and Lennon when I'm in a bad mood. I wish people could like one without knocking the other.

Mike yes it went through. I have the cds you sent me in my cd player now and just heard PArtial to Your Abracadabra which is an excellent song and didn't realize it was on there. I also like 3 Legs and Eat At Home from Ram. Are those songs on there?

I told the guy Paul was older and he said I know he is older but why can't he sell or keep up with today's generation like Clapton and the Stones? I was prett mad at the time and I told a person who worked there because Paul is more mature and he said to tell the guy that except the guy had left the store by then. I don't understand why critics pounce on slow music whether it be Paul or anyone else. Why do people hate slow music? I am personally happy that Paul does slow music for I can listen to it well into old age. I have Back To The Egg and yes it is a great album and Dobule Fantasy is pretty slow. Even John's most popular solo single Imagine is slower than Paul's which is Maybe I'm Maazed,Live and LEt Die and Band On The Run. You are right we shouldn't worry what the critics say. I hope one day I will be able to ignore them. I'm still trying to learn to ignore them. Do you like Silly Love Songs or Let'Em In better?

Mike I see what you are saying. I can understnad people not being fans of Macca's either except some of them really put him down. There are some John fans on ehre that I like real well who don't put Paul down and that is fine with me. I feel the way you do about unfairness which is why I've had to defend Paul. I guess if there were John fnas and critics who chose John as their favorite beatle without putting Paul dwon I wouldn't mind. The way some people act is like their opinion of Macca is right and John was the king and on one website one person said Paul is good but face facts people John was the greatest beatle he was the msot creative. I was in the store a couple of years ago and asked when Driving Rain came out and the people said November and one guy in there said Paul Mccartney he has been around for years. I siad yes eh is good and the guy said I saw his movie Give My Regards To Broadstreet and some other stuff and he wondered why Paul wasn't keeping up with the younger geneation.

Sam maybe that is the reason why Liverpool Rockers don't age lol! ISn't LEd Aeppelin british too though? If not from Liverpool what part of England are they from?

RE: Sam Leach - KEEP
Yes JEn we are all here because we enjoy Paul's music. THe only reason I defend Paul si because I don't feel he deserves this kind of treatment plus if you don't stnad up to critics you get bullied alot. At least Paul showed the world who si number 1 last year with the tour. He will leav the critics in the dust.

Hi Mike, I see you finally made it. I was just letting Clo know what you told me when she asked me why people can't geniunely see Paul as a nice guy and hwo you told me about people seeing him as a pr man. I asked ehr what she meant by Paul has uleterior motives for speaking and she told me stuff like he onl says what people wnat to hear. She didn't understand why people can't see Paul as geniune and I tired to answer ehr question and tried to remember some of the stuff you told me. I wasn't too worried about the critics this time around I was just trying to explain to Clo what I've been told by you and some others. As for critics yes they will knock anyoen on top because it is their job and I think jealousy. I was on Peter Noone's site a couple of weeks ago and he talked about Paul being the best lookign man he'ds een and how he played the bass real well and sang real well and thought he must have amde a deal witht he devil because nobody can sing and play bass that well. He said he hated him for it too. It sounds like he was jealous of him which is probably why people knock him. I think jealousy.

By the way Sam I frogot to tell you on the cover of Mojo magazine I saw a picture of LEd Zeppelin and they looked so old. Especially Jimmy Page. They look every bit their age and I was thinking at least Paul looks great. I thought to myself Paul looks great for his age,and keeps on going and doesn't seeme messed up liek other rock stars do. Hooray for Paul!

RE: Sam Leach - KEEP
Sam I guess you are right. Clo said she hated when people said Paul uses ulteriro motives for what he says and I asked her what she meant by it and she told me and asked why they can't beleive he is a geniunely nice guy and I explaiend to her what Mike told me and what I've heard before. I would love to ignoie the critics except it seems hard sometmes and they push Macca around and us if we don't stand up to them just like a bully in school. I like to focus on the positive except sometimes the negative happens and I'm not prepared for it. I was afraid I was wrong for liking Paul at one time. That was what worried me what if the critics were right and I was wrong? What if they were warning me except I was too stubborn to listen? That was what I was afraid of being wrong for choosing Paul as my favorite beatle. Anyway I do hope to ignore the critics but how do we do it without getting pusehd around?

RE: Sam Leach - KEEP
Sam, I wasn't trying to spread the critics bite just trying to answer Clo's question. She asked me why people couldn't see Paul as geniunely a nice guy and I told her what Mike told me. I wasn't worried at all about the critics just letting Clo know what I've been told. Sorry if I made it come out that way. I just gave Clo an answer that's all.

RE: Sam Leach - KEEP
Clorinda thankf ro clearing that up for me. Paul is seen by alot of people to be a pr man. There are some who say he worries more what people think of him than John did and he is afraid to speak his mind. They see him as a wuss who can't stand up for himself and a rich snob who is a media mainpulator.I don't know why people don't see him as a nice guy other than that. They also think he broke up the beatles and cares only for money. I'm sure Sam could clear it up for all the people who don't see him as a nice guy.

RE: Sam Leach - KEEP
Clorinda what do you mean by Paul having ulterior motives for what he says?

RE: Sam Leach - KEEP
Hi Jen,I'm glad you ahd fun at the picnic. Have you heard from Mike? IF os tell him to stop by here.

RE: Sam Leach - KEEP
Sam it is no wonder Paul gets picked on then. Rock N'Roll usually celebrates bad behavior as does Hollywood and they think nice guys finish last and like bad boys. It shows how twisted show business can be sometimes.

RE: Sam Leach - KEEP
Thanks Sam. I always wondred that because I read about him liking certain stuff and his dad being afraid fo him being a teddy boy. I read where his dad didn't like him wearing tight pants and black leather jackets but Paul wore him dwon. I always wondered how to describe Paul if he wasn't a rebel or exaclty a clean cut type. Thanks for answering my question I sure could take a lesson from Paul on diplomacy. I've said some pretty rotten things before myself and gotten in trouble for it. One thing I noticed is that parents like Paul and never object to children listening to him. No wonder he gets criticized so much because he isn't a rebel. I think my question may finally be answered as to why critics put Paul down so much he has looks, talent, wealth and is a diplomat qualities to make other people jealosu eh? I hope I'm right. Like you said I'll ignore the people who ptu Paul down from now on.

Hi Sam, I do hope I get to see American English someday. I'm glad you know I was joking about playing Paul even though I would love to play him if there was a local production down here. Maybe I should dres up as him for Halloween. I always wonder whether Paul was a James Dean type back int eh Cavern days?
