I've listened to some excerpts of Paul talking from about 7 years ago recently . His voice isn't nearly as croaky now as it was then . I think Glasto proved that he is currently in very good form vocally Personally I'm delighted

I'm looking forward to the first videos of his new Live. I'd like to see how it sounded. I'm afraid he can't handle a long tour. But then he often surprised us. Although I still wonder how long Mr. McCartney will slip through the cracks. At some point age will catch up with him.
watching a compilation someone has made on YouTube of his Glastonbury set from different gigs filmed on phones this year .On letting go and got to get you into my life he's hitting the high notes effortlessly . The modulation on letting go is not easy !

I was wondering if people were hopefull that this will be released on DVD / Bluray . The performance is terrific , and there's been a lot of goodwill shown to it fairly universally , so it surely makes sense ?
i for one am very keen to buy it .

Well, we KNOW he will do Get Back even though he can't do it justice anymore.
I agree with you guys about the removals and swapping out he should do. Instead of Something, why couldn't he blow our minds and do While My Guitar Gently Weeps? Abe could help with the high notes! And ANYTHING but Mr. Kite for John! In My Life would be fantastic, but again, there's those pesky high notes. (he could falsetto the end)
For someone who is a known perfectionist, he sure is lazy about re-learning songs!!
Get Back sounds pretty good in the youtube clip to me !

RE: Where's Paul been lately?
Just saw some guy on Twitter claiming he was at a secret Paul gig in Southport last night ?!

RE: Your favourite songs on MCCARTNEY III

I think McCartney III stands up as it's own album. It does not sound like the I-am-doing-a-contract - obligation ... like some groups that have duds and quick fillers.
I get a kick out of Paul doing all or most of the instruments as he did with 1 and 2. There is an appreciation for all the tracks and work required. I started liking and understanding that Deep Deep feeling ...the low pounding background instrument...I like that at 78, he didn't decide to spend all his days reclined in the recliner watching television, reading the paper, and sawing wood and then waking up to some loud show that he didn't start off watching.
I like that he stayed with songs of now and that he reached back and pulled a few of them to the view of being new.
I think it was a good gift to his fans and those he wants to gain as fans. I like that he stayed active and sharp by playing the collection of parts.
I like the many songs and not just a few singles or EP.I am playing this album more than Egyptian Station. It could be the timing and the pandemic combination. I also have been doing things while listening and it goes welll while doing so. I have done my own multitrack of instruments (no where as well or as close to this) which is why my appreciation- knowing what it takes. I like the fun songs and then the lyrical combination on a few too.
perhaps I didn't receive the album as a rattled critic who wants to pound down the artist. I am a fan that sometimes has the rose colored ear pieces and speakers (not rose colored glasses).
my opinion only... I enjoy it and that is what matters to me.Great post - couldn't agree more
My favourites are Find My Way , Lavatory Lil , and When Winter comes .
A couple of thoughts ... I think the album is generally very well recorded , but .... the first track has a very warm bombastic drum sound . When Find my way (which i really like ) comes in , the snare sounds like its coming through headphones in comparison - really thin, quiet and tinny . I thought he would have went for more continuity with the drum sound . Any one else notice that ?
Secondly , When winter comes is absolutley CLASSIC McCartney . Fantastic melody and chords - lovely structure . What on earth possessed him to leave it off Flaming Pie ?!

RE: MCCARTNEY III IMAGINED
Sorry if i've missed this in previous posts . Is the new Mccartney III Imagined cover versions with no involvement from Paul or are they his originial recordings remixed with added vocals by the other artists etc?

RE: Give My Regards To Broad Street.
I really love the film , and have the region 1 DVD . High time it had a proper UK release . I often watch it near to Christmas - not sure why . I love the atmosphere in the film , can't quite explain it . So many great quirky little scenes . As others have said it's not perfect , but I think it's really underrated .
I actually prefer it to A Hard Days Night

£33-35 seems a bit steep for a single LP no ?
Is that how much they're charging in the U.K.?! They are averaging $29.99 here which is £23. Amazon is $26.49.
I had a look in HMV this morning and just as a rough guide, the Wings Greatest single vinyl lp was £27.99 (approx $36), most of the latest single albums by other artists are roughly around the £29.99 mark. As a rough comparison, it seems that vinyl albums are twice the price of their CD counterparts.
McCartney 3 is a further £7 on top of that . I got a brand new Decca 60's beat scene double album for £28 on record store day . Using Amazon , I can't remember the last time ( if ever ) that i spent as much as £20 on a single brand new LP . I often find them to be between £11 and £17 - and thats with free delivery !
