Also, one other cool moment - when Paul did his little bit about "when we play an old song, there are lights everywhere, galaxy of stars, etc; but when it's an old song, it's like a black hole" and then launched into Fuh You, people all over the arena held up their cell phone lights! (as what usually happens during Let it Be). "Galaxy of stars" for a new song. Paul was very surprised and very pleased!
You meant “but when it’s a new song, it’s like a black hole.” He did the same bit (of course) in Greenville.
oops yes I did mean "new song." Yes he did that bit at the shows last year, too; but I've never seen an audience actually turn their lights on for the new song after he's said it. That was a first!

Where did you hear that? Everything I heard contradicted that. He sounded fine on BOTR on the 30th in Greenville!
Not firsthand; somebody who talked to somebody on the crew. So who knows what the real reason was. I did think about curfew at first, also.

Trying to put into words the sense of anticipation and excitement I’m feeling as I get ready for what will likely be one of the most incredible events of my life. Seats on the main floor in Section 106 just to the left of center stage in the second row are waiting. Never in my wildest dreams could I have imagined this way back in 1964 when I first fell in love with the man and his music. The reviews I’ve read of his first stops on this U.S. tour have been stellar. No doubt tomorrow night will not disappoint. I don’t know if I will be able to sleep tonight....this experience will be both epic and truest unforgettable.
Sir Paul, all my loving I send to you. Thank you for who you are and all you do to make this world a better place.
Have an amazing time tonight!

What photo are you referring to? *confused*
The photo above in Nightfish's avatar.
OMG, I totally missed the word avatar and thought “The Nightfish” was a movie! Anyway, don’t think he looks anything like Rami in that pic. jmho

WTF no BAND ON THE RUN tonight? Was that cut for time or just plain dropped from the setlist. Disappointed but otherwise great show. Next stop for me Green Bay
Wow...can't remember the last time he dropped Band On The Run in a full concert! Did he bring any one up on stage last night?
No one was brought on stage. I heard that Band on the Run was dropped because of his voice...(which btw sounded ok to me) and that it was his choice to drop it. All the tech was ready to go so it wasn’t a mistake or surprise, apparently.

I personally thought his voice sounded better than it has in quite awhile. A few clunkers here and there but that’s to be expected. Being the first show was definitely a plus vocal wise. Quite a few new videos behind him and yes the riser stage is still there. From where I was in the third row the pit in front didn’t seem to have as much junk in it but I could be wrong about that. And he didn’t do the reading of the signs.
Thanks to you and Carlos for your reviews! What did you think of the horn section? I think they are great and do add a lot to the songs they are used on. I just remembered that last night was the first show they've done in the US.

I don't know why he won't sing more of his songs that he wrote from that last 20-30 years. His current voice may be better suited for them.
I agree with you Maccaroni1974. I am tired of hearing about 1st timers.
agree, but there really are still so many people that still have never seen him, for whatever reason, no matter how many times he has toured. I have one friend that goes to lots of concerts and he's still on her "list" of people to see. And she's not a millenial.

I'm going to the show on June 1 and for the first time I paid for the hot sound package. I'm very excited to see the whole experience but also a little nervous I may miss out since I've never before been and dont know what to expect. I know an email is to be sent about a week prior. Well, we are at that point. Has anyone else who is attending the sound check received the info yet? Again, forgive me as this is my first time with the sound check experience.
No, I have not received the email with the info yet. It's usually sent around a week or so before, I have always gotten it in time. You're going to really enjoy the experience but it's addictive.
Yes, it is! You will have a blast! I would start watching for the email now, since we are about a week away, and be sure to also check your spam filter, just in case it ends up there. It will come from SLOTix, not from Ticketmaster.

Looking for 2 tickets (preferably hot sound) for May 27th in Raleigh...anyone not able to go?
Those type of tickets (Hot Sound) are not transferable unless the person who purchased them comes with you, shows their I.D. and says (s)he is “giving” you the tickets.
I believe you only need the person who purchased them with you if you want to go to soundcheck. I bought them from a third party back in 2014 and was able to use them to attend just the concert.
Okay, I see. It sounds like Steve wanted the whole package though.
Oh if that’s the case the you are 100% right Nancy. I was just happy to be in the third row.
Thanks for the info ya'll did not realize sound check was non-transferable...at this point I'll be happt to get up to the show from Atlanta...
Look on Facebook, sometimes people who are going to the concert end up with extra Hot Sound tickets and packages that they need to sell and will post there. I'm not on FB myself, but a friend of mine was able to sell an extra soundcheck package that way when one of her other friends was unable to attend. She met the buyer outside the arena before soundcheck and they checked in together.

For those looking for tickets to the upcoming USA shows - Ticketmaster is showing "gold" and "platinum" seats for the shows, in addition to the "verified resale" tickets that appeared right after tickets originally went on sale. "Gold" seats include merchandise which they mail to you after the show. "Platinum" is simply a higher-priced seat (with no merchandise). Depending on how deep your pockets are, this might be an option for you. Keep an eye on Ticketmaster, as the pricing for the platinum seats is dynamic and the costs have come down over the past wo weeks. Gold seats weren't there two weeks ago but appeared recently for some of the shows. Does anyone have experience with "verified resale" tickets? Do the prices come down as it gets closer to the date of the show? Good luck to all who are looking for tickets!
Verified Resale tickets are tickets being sold by the original buyer. It’s TM trying to compete with StubHub because since you are buying via their site, you are guaranteed that it won’t be a fake ticket. Ticket sellers set the prices. So do keep an eye on those, too, because sellers will probably come down as it gets closer to the show, esp if it’s just a regular person who is trying to sell extras or tix they can’t use.

Zach, you are preaching to the choir - we have been saying that exact thing for 6 years now! Hate that damn little stage! 🤬
Paul likes it, which is why it is still around. I think he likes being up high and being able to look out over the entire audience from that vantage point.
I have no problems with the stage height. It's the extra staging, which takes up AT LEAST a couple rows of potential floor seats. Those in the front row shouldn't be so far away from Paul. I had front row back in 2012, and it was great. I've seen some recent videos where it looks like some people are so far away, and they are in the first few rows.
I have front row tickets for when he comes to Fort Wayne. It is a smaller venue than his normal stadium, so I'm hoping that they do away with that smaller extra stage. I want to be as close as possible.
That little extra stage/platform is what I was talking about. Paul obviously must like that part of the show when he rises high above the audience and can see everyone. They must have decided it was easier to have that platform placed in front of the main stage rather than have it rise from the middle of the stage.
Don't expect that it will be removed for Fort Wayne. It's been at every indoor arena show since it first appeared; even in the smaller arenas. I agree that it does take up more room in front of the stage and pushes the audience back a bit. But front row is still great and you will still be close, with no one else in front of you to block your view!

Can anyone recommend a good way to get reasonable roundtrip tickets from the Midwest to Raleigh? I can't remember how I booked my last ones to NC? It wasn't Expedia or Orbitz or the usual ones.
Appreciate any suggestions.
You can try Google Flights - I think it's google dot com / flights - put in your home city, your destination, and the dates, and you can get an idea of fares from there. Or try Kayak dot com and do the same thing for a flight search.

Paul McCartney The film Live at The Cavern 2018 ', directed by Paul Dugdale, will make its debut at Cannes 2019. The 72nd Cannes Film Festival is scheduled from May 14 to May 25, 2019, Paul will be present at the festival.
Has anyone thought of the possibility of a mini-concert on the red carpet stairs of Cannes as did U2 in 2007 or Sting in 2018? would be great.Sure, it would be fun if he did something like that, but of course it depends on what date they schedule the screening of the film. The New Orleans concert is May 23rd.
