No luck for me...I kept getting the New Orleans page although I was clicking on the Albany link...went to All Shows, but was too late. Will try again tomorrow for Amex presale.

Local paper says Paul arrived last night, saw security posted around hotel perimeters. Crowd surge tickets never arrived but customer service very responsive, we were able to pick up wristbands yesterday with no problem. Just watched very interesting show on tv from Ottawa performance/interview. Paul talked about the challenges of playing bass & singing Day Tripper & Mr. Kite.....

How cool! They just said Paul is going to call into the show at 5:00 pm and are wondering what to ask him. They also said they think a police pipe band will join him on stage.
Sounds like we'll get, Mull of Kintyre" - yay! It's a soggy day in Kanata, ONT! But that definitely brightens the day!

Great show, he sounded terrific! Always fun to bring along newbies, they were gobsmacked - and there is nothing like watching a newbie see Live & Let Die. Best for me was Another Day - takes me back to freshman year in college. Despite critiques, also totally enjoyed All Together Now & Lovely Rita - but I will enjoy most anything if I'm at a MacCartney concert. He did sound GREAT, though. 3 more to go, otherwise, I'd be sad.

Glad it's indoors & not a stadium - less than 24 hours to go. Driving down to NYC in the AM...going with friends who have not seen Sir Paul before, so it will be fun to watch them see Live & Let Die.

RE: Paul McCartney 2013 Rumours
Heard from a friend today who bought a tour tshirt in Orlando (not sure if it was official merchandise) but supposedly, under AUGUST, Buffalo was listed! No specific date, though. I like that rumor!

I knew I should have waited to buy tickets. Oh well, on Saturday I'll be sitting with a box of tissue in my hand to tackle the nose bleeds I'll have because of my seat.
Don't feel so bad: I'll be up there, too! In fact, I'm so high up there, my row doesn't even show up on the seating charts!
I'll bring some extra tissues for you.
Wallie, what seats are you sitting in?
I believe my ticket says "New Jersey" as that's how close I'll be to the stage. Or, section 108, row 9. It looks fairly far away from the stage.
I'm in 108 row 6 - believe it's located in the Holland Tunnel.
I'll be three rows behind you, or the next lane over in the Tunnel.
and that's why it's the OUT THERE tour....we will be quite a ways out there. But at least, we will BE THERE. And it only seats 18,000 - so hopefully, it will that bad. I decided to go for quantity vs quality - I'm in for 4 shows, vs 1 soundcheck. Motto for the summer is, "Broke By August.""

RE: McCartney Concert Voice
Paul has a really great back-up band...the audience! Regardless of talent, we all sing along - best audience performance I've heard was at Anfield - "Something" gave me shivers! And, the band onstage is not too shabby, either. Saw Bob Dylan 2 years ago - he phoned it in. That NEVER happens with a McCartney concert.

RE: "Out There" 2013 Setlist Critique and Suggestions

Ahem. Back on topic ... I would like to propose one other little change to the set list that I wish Paul would consider. I love Hey Jude. I want to hear it in July. But I wish he would drop the boy-girl singalong and just do the song and let us all join in.
Funny you should mention that. I was thinking about this idea for "Hey Jude" yesterday: This may be cheeky, but I think Paul should expand the sing-a-long. Seriously. "Now it's the veggies' turn!" "OK -- now only the sexy people." (a concert can't-fail tactic ) "OK -- the Wings fans." "And now THE BEATLE fans!" Change it up a bit.
He could do a special version for the forum: "And now the folks that think I play South America too much!" "How about the folks who hate that I tour the US so much!" "Everyone still bitter about the Premium Membership fiasco!" "Now the folks who are in debt because of me!" "Everyone who thinks my voice is going!" "And now the folks who think I should stop dying my hair!" "How about the banned members?"
I find this hilarious! I'd be singing in groups 3 & 4.

RE: Favorite Part of a Paul Show
I love the pre-show, due to sheer anticipation! And everyone is in such a good mood. Mind you, it doesn't lay a candle to the show - but there's such a buzz going on. Everyone is SO GLAD to be there.

RE: "Out There" 2013 Setlist Critique and Suggestions
Everyone has favorites...songs you could easily give up to hear rarities. Sir Paul has to balance that against the many people who are seeing him the first or second time. I'm just happy to be able to see him a few times on this tour, he could sing the alphabet & I'd be fine with it. Not sure if I'll ever get the chance to see Long Haired Lady live, I just love the juxtaposition of complementary melodies. Also, he's touring to promote his latest remaster, so obviously there will be songs from Wings Over America/Rockshow - the gentleman in question knows how to make a dollar or two!

RE: VIP Packages
You can take cameras in, just not professional recording equipment. No one minds digital snapshots, but have a good zoom, as you are back by the sound equipment. Of course, for the show, you have better seats. it's not really a VIP experience, but it is very fun to be there for a sound check. I thought mine was really good in Toronto, as it involved the bagpipes for Mull of Kintyre - so it truly was a rehearsal. I am going for quantity this year, vs quality - 4 shows with one Gold ticket, vs 1 soundcheck. I don't regret doing the soundcheck - it's an experience - wish I could do four. But I can't, so I'll be happy further back. Have fingers crossed I can get tickets for Quebec City!

RE: Plains of Abraham, Quebec, Canada - July 23rd - ARCHIVE
I made hotel reservations the minute I read the rumor - have my fingers crossed I'll be able to get general admission tickets. I've already decided I will treat it as picnic in the park, watching screens rather than trying to get close. It's still a fun experience - last year, we "saw" the Queen's Concert in the overflow area in Hyde Park. Very fun...and unless you are in the very front, you tend to watch the screen a lot. I have 1 decent (Gold) ticket in DC, 2 meh tickets in Brooklyn & Ottawa, and hopefully, the picnic ticket in Quebec City. So I''m going for quantity vs quality, as together, they equal a soundcheck! The important thing is to be there for OUT THERE.

RE: Paul McCartney 2013 Rumours
I'm going to treat this one like the Atlanta concert...just hang out, picnic on a blanket & watch the screens. We went to Quebec City in the dead of winter 3 years ago...really pretty, but VERY cold, and we know winter! Everyone told us to come back in the summer. The Chateau Frontenac was very proud that Sir Paul stayed there, and it's a wonderful place. I'm looking forward to being there when it's not below zero! But that year, there was a huge blizzard in the northeast, and we drove about 20 miles north of it, all the way.

Where will I find regular tickets going on sale May 11th - TicketMaster? Capitaltickets? Evenko? Not sure who will be selling them....
-
RE: Ottawa, Canada, Scotiabank Place, July 7th - ARCHIVE
Should Toronto not be in the cards, I would think there's a great chance he'll play Mull of Kintyre in Ottawa - that in itself is worth the trip! I'm hoping for better tickets tomorrow....

RE: Ottawa Pre-Sale
Aargh, very stressful morning! Was trying for 4 tickets, had some success but decided I could do better. Wrong. Then...after 2nd presale with nothing looking good, I have up, only to find an email that friends can't go. Grrrr...so I tried for 2 & got Section 119 - took them & will try for better on Friday. some days, I'm my own worst enemy.
