Well....I'm FINALLY getting over my "Still in shock after seeing Paul" mode!!!!! What an absolutely AWESOME show!!!!! Des Moines really showed the love!! It was so great to finally meet everyone I've been chatting with for months!! Maccascruff,Suess,Scottycat,Maccatak & Dragonfly3310... thanks for being so great!!! I'm really glad that we decided to meet up at The Spaghetti Works! But, being the mindless TWIT that I am, I wore 3 1/2 inch heels, and ended walking about 10 blocks that night, as well as standing & dancing thru MOST of the show . Needless to say, I could hardly walk after the show!!!! : Maccascruff was gracious enough to offer me a ride to my hotel (Many Thanks)!!! I'm sure anyone watching me try to walk out of the arena & to the parking garage thought I was seriously intoxicated!!!! I was staggering and trying to get my useless feet to work!!!! Needless to say, my feet are STILL killing me!!! Oh well....I still had a great time!! My seat was THE BEST!! Just to the left of the stage-1st row-aisle seat!! I definately had eye contact with Rusty & Paul(I'm sure Paul was SO happy to see me) I also was so close, that I got to watch John Hammel tuning Paul's guitar! Live & Let Die is always my favorite, but I must say that this concert was absolutely BRILLIANT! ScottyCat & her great boyfriend & I DID close the bar at The Savery...& thanks guys! I had so much fun talking with you! Maccascruff...I'm so glad that we finally met up!!! Your a wonderful person!!!(Hope you made it home ok)!!! All in all, it was just a GREAT experience!!!!

Glad to see you survived the trip home!! I was in such a fog the next day, that I misread my flight confirmation and we arrived at the airport at the time our flight was LANDING in Phonenix. ops: ops: We got booked onto a later flight and spent 2 hours sitting and waiting in the Omaha airport. : I was getting something out of my purse last night and loads of confetti from the show fell out!! I scooped it up, like it was gold or something! I wish you were coming out to the west coast for a show or two. We could really do some damage here.
-
Ooooohhh...me too!!! That would be such fun!!! I REALLY hope you guys get tickets for the California show!! I'll keep my fingers crossed!!! Hope the kitties were ok when you finally made it home!!!

The kitties and the dogs were fine. Let's just say that it took until 2am to clean up the little "welcome mat" that they had rolled out for mom and dad!!

Hey mspeel007 - for next time - no higher than 2.5 inches for a Paul show - LOL! Seriously, my feet were a bit numb, too, from the walking back and forth from downtown to the parking ramp to the arena and back to the parking ramp PLUS standing forever in the merch line and for most of the show! No matter - Paul is always worth it!! So fun meeting everyone and glad you all had a great time in Des Moines. Hopefully Paul will remember the warm welcome and keep us in mind for a 2nd spring leg of the tour
-
Well, the wife and I didn't make it over to the spaghetti place (we actually ate at the place just to the left of it). We waited a couple of hours to see Paul pull into the arena and got this shot: GREAT show.
-
Great picture!!! Thanks for sharing! Sorry we didn't get to meet up...maybe next time!

Last, and most imortantly, I want to say how NICE and FRIENDLY everyone was to us in Des Moines. We have never felt so welcome anywhere!!! You guys are the BEST!!! Aahhh,Scottycatt, thank you so much! It was really a pleasure to meet you and everyone else. One of your signs showed up on the Des Moines Register website.Next time I'm in the vicinity of Laurel canyon I'll look you up... We finally found the Quality Inn,and I knew the barmaid there was jealous because she couldn't go,and had to work instead,so I took her a copy of the Philly show that's circulating on the board, and her jaw dropped to the ground, since we'd never met.A splendid time guaranteed for all!!!

I forgot,I've posted a few pictures at my homepage if anyone cares to take a peek, and beware, there is no nudity..heh,heh... http://groups.msn.com/macdaddyshomesite

I went to Chicago, Milwaukee, and St Paul before Des Moines, and I gotta say Des Moines ROCKED. One can sometimes forget how important the audience can be. The audience started out pretty much like the others, some on the floor even sat down for a short time, but a few songs into the show the audience seemed to get more into it and then were just nuts. Don't know if the entire audience was that way (we were in the 8th row), but it sure seemed like it to us - AND to the band. Paul and gang fed off that energy - it was electric! What a great show!
-
Hey Maccatack......Great pictures!!! I was great meeting you & your wife(and your friend..I can't remember her name, but very nice)! I got my camera in, but the security squad was right next to me the entire show, so I decided not to risk it!!(I snuck it in my top like you suggested)! It's the only time since I was pregnant that I've had a cleavage!!!
-
You won't believe what the lady next to me on the floor asked! After about three songs, she said are they ever going to sit down? I told not likely on the floor. She turned to her husband and said, honey, we should have got the balcony seats and he said, too late now. It was great and I'm glad you all like Iowa's hospitality.

I forgot to tell you that when some younger people came and sat in front of me, the guy said, let's play Paul trivia. I said, okay, ask the question. He said what is the best non-Beatles, non-Wings Paul album and I said Chaos and Creation in the Backyard. He said there is no such album. I said you are going to hear four songs from it tonight and he left to buy another beer.

Hi Mspeel! You must have been sitting right near me....we were front row seats 43 and 44! We thought Paul was looking at us too, but then he starting talking about the "great nephew Drew" sign, which was an entire level above our heads...so embarassing! Anyway...had an awesome night! Rusty was very engaged with our area....stellar performance! Come back Paul!!! We miss you and I wanted you to sign my British flag sneaker!!
-
Yes...I think we must have been on the same row! I was in seat 11...right on the aisle!!!( And I think I have a little crush on Rusty now)!!!

Hey guys!! Was wondering if any of you that live in Des Moines have any copies of the newspaper the day after the show???? I usually get a copy of the local newspaper after a show, and I forgot this time!(age)

Hey mspeel! I have only my copy (I'm a packrat and also try to get the morning-after paper if we go to a show out-of-town) however, my parents also get the daily paper. If they still have it, I'll try to nab it for you. Trying to think of any others that might get it - I'll let you know
-
Thanks alot Suess!! If not, I'll probably just try to buy a copy from the newspaper itself!!
