The ..2012.... Political thread

In case you haven't heard the public has rejected the idea "overwhelmingly" that conservative talk radio and fox news rhetoric had nothing to do with what contribute to this killing....I heard this on Fox News in case you hadn't heard it anywhere else on the planet.
Yeah right : - and if there was any connection to any possible political rhetoric, then it would only be plausible that it was the Daily KOS chart that started the ball rolling with this nut ball, because his hate/threat letters date to back then, a year before Palin's chart...but I can assure you that no one would believe the statement you made. The consensus was that the guy was a loose nut and that a series of oversights by friends, family, school and health care (but not due to affordability in case you bring up the 'healht care' thing)...so to sound like a copy cat to your good buddies, 'prove it'

The daily kos chart you posted was obviously doctored to anyone but you apparently, yet you keep hammering it on. If there was really anything in it.. it would be covered by legitimate sources. http://s0.ilike.com/play#Eagles:Lyin%27+Eyes:10258:m6299443 to you and all the others living in hate and fear and delusion: http://www.myspace.com/103839666/music/songs/desperado-21277505

It turns out the Daily KOS (the site that originally posted that target chart) is the single most cited 'non legitimate' site out there...Glad you included your site's theme song (since 'lying' seems to be huge with you guys)... And just to point out how disingenuous you are, what you're pointing out as 'doctored' is the inclusion of a 'quote bubble/balloon' which highlights the incriminating quotes, as well as a red line arrow pointing out where the quote appears on the chart Everything else on the chart (as reported on numerous sites, including the very left influence MSNBC) is as shown You're just a chump with no substance. And just to further prove that if anything, the shooter was working under the influence of leftist ideals, it was just reported that he was evidently wearing a g-string
-
Btw, your good friend, Nancy Pelosi called the shooting an accident...what's up with that? Was the shooter acutally a Democrat or something?
-
That right there was an example of showing contempt, derision, hatred, division. I fail to see how the Democratic Party can arouse such negative emotions. They stand for unity of all races, faiths and countries,multi-culturalism being inclusive rather than exclusive, and for compassion and tolerance, for helping the neediest and weakest in society rather than ignoring, exploiting and harming them. The best of the G.O.P. which isn't extreme right shares some of these values, at least. And Republicans should not appropriate 'family values' and being religious, spiritual, patriotic only for itself, the G.O.P., and imply the Dems don't share these.

Actually I think it's the party shoving their head in the sand after looking bad for unfairly taking pot shots at Sarah Palin, and having the public in general calling them out

Nope, that ain't it...

Sure it is It was a big 'fail' for them this week - bad enough at face value, but even worse given that they paraded their true face over dead bodies

Agreed. If anything, the pot probably helped him. Not sure how much of the hard stuff he was doing.

I understand "fab4fan"'s chart that pictures the killer. However, many fear that he was influenced by rampant vehement hate and fear talk in the media and from various pundits and pols. That something like that set him over the edge, or at least contributed to his delusions and insanity. He might have seen Palin's target and crosshairs exhibitions, for example.
-
Wow - actual logical discussions as to why this loose nut did what he did. Btw, a good read would be the Jan 24 Time Magazine, with several enlightening articles on the topic

Ooops - I guess I spoke too soon

Actually, most people close to the situation would point to a 2007 meeting where this guy actually ask Gabby Giffords 'How do you know words mean anything?' - when Gabby glossed to the next question without answering his, he became enraged and he held a grudge against her. At the time, President Bush was still in office, Sarah Palin wasn't a thought in anyone's mind (outside of Alaska, where she was a first year governor), Hillary Clinton was the Democratic front runner, way ahead of Obama. In 2008, the Daily KOS produced their own target chart, with Gabby's name specifically mention, a full year and a half before Sarah's...The fact that you continually attack Sarah Palin is concerning. I've been asked numerous times whether I thought Sarah's chart was appropriate and I responded that I in general don't agree with any type of rhetoric from either party...which by default, means I don't agree with Sarah's. So lets hear you 'man up' and claim the same for the Leftist/Democratic members who have done the same...and had every chance of being a source for influence to this guy's actions (especially since he's a leftist gone wrong - which not to worry, unlike your lack of objectivity, I segregate him from the typical left just as I would separate Muslims and extreme Muslims)
-
The information they found in the safe did not have the map of the US with the crosshairs. There is no evidence of this guy's politics. People always want simple answers to tragedies....that's human nature for all of us....for the most part, there really aren't any. Here's an example from my own state of Massachusetts.....a father murdered his wife, his mother in law, his 4 year old son and 2 year old daugher. He slit their throats. The last one was the 2 year old...she was in her crib taking a nap. He cleaned himself up, watched a few movies on cable and then left the house. The cops did find him before he got to the New Hampshire border. There's no simple answer here either

The guys going for a insanity plea. Like he going to start taking and say Yes Palin statement made me so angry I went out and shot this person. The would be called premeditated and that would mean the death penalty. He was rational enough to follow this womans politics for a year as you reported. He was rational enough to buy a gun and show up where she was going to be. He also rational enough to keep his mouth shut. There going to be book deals and movies. I sure this kids parents have already been contacted by someone to represent them. Sure this guy got to be mental ill but that make Palin comments even more dangerous. That why you don't make outrageous comments because of the nut jobs. We all met weirdo's in life. I had a rental and met the neighbor kid and got so creeped out by him, I nicknamed him Damien. His family was really strange too. A few years later he murder the little boy across the street, gruesomely. Not only wasn't I surprised when I heard it I actually though about calling the cops and telling them to check this kid out.when I heard a kid went missing in that neighborhood. One friend was like Yes do it the other was like you can't call the police and tell them you suspect your neighbor's kid because he weird. Who knows what happen in his family or at school that day that triggered the event. He and his family had issues and I guessing the family of this kid will have some issue as well. The US policy for mental ill people was put into place to protect them from being taken and put into a mental hospital unjustly but maybe we went too far in protecting there rights. Mental illness is a real issue in this country. Most insurance don't cover it. We see most of our mentally ill, standing on street corners, begging for spare changes. It heart breaking really. Than one day they go off and hurt someone. The mental health system is broke.

I agree too schizophrenia can be triggered by drug use...but I suspect its a form of self medication. The person doesn't know what is going on with them and so they drink or use to try and clam down the voices there hearing. They were already headed that way. Sometime it years before the condition becomes out of control. I know about this because I had a worker who developed it right in front of my eyes. Sadly no one could do anything. He was normal for years and than one day he wasn't Dave anymore. He was the best worker and just one day the story started getting a little weird and pretty soon it was heavy religious talk. Than the conspiracy talk started and pretty soon it was little green men and the last straw for me was I hadn't seen him in a year and got a call one night from a mental hospital he was in saying I put him there and he was a godhead and when he gets out he coming for me.. When these people take the meds there normal. Off the meds their crazy town. Getting a threatening call from a metal hospital was pretty weird but hearing that the hospital or cops can't do anything unless they hurt someone. Some how this wasn't reassuring me. He showed up at a mutual friends house right before dawn and the guy said it was like something out of a horror movie..he got into his car to start it and the headlight went on and there was crazy Dave standing in front of his car at like 5:00 in the morning ranting about god.. The guy was a big dude and he was scared of him. Now add Sarah Palin voice calling for load and reload..now you got two godheads talking to each other. Scary!

I know it's hard for you to accept that the Daily KOS chart was this guys template to murder - oh well...Maybe he took the extreme leftist rally cry of 'Kill Kill Kill' literally. They should be held accountable for at least being a possible influence to this guy's actions. However I think they're protected by some type of journalistic legislation that allows them to be irresponsible and not be held accountable - since they got away with this one, look for them to push to the envelope and call for more of the same.
