The "Paul Forgot The Lyrics" Thread
-
He has flubbed the lyrics to "Blackbird" before.
-
My all-time favorite flub during a concert was from Quebec in 2008. Right before the fireworks start in "Live and Let Die", Abe must have really done something to crack Paul up, as you can see Paul start to laugh right before the "Live and Let Die!" moment, and then you can see that Paul can't even finish the line. Right around the 32 second mark http//
lol lol lol lol lol -

I think he laughed because he mucked up on the piano!

Paul isn't the only one who has messed up words ... in the Concert for Bangladesh, George messed up the words for Something. You can see him turning around to the rest of the band and laughing after he realizes what he did.
It's at the beginning of the second verse (around 0:50). He also messed up the words in While My Guitar Gently Weeps, but he recovers better from it. -
Paul played St. Petersberg, Florida? I'd have thought that too small a city for him to play. Why did he play there? Tampa is nearby, and Sarasota, but they're not large cities either...I know he's played Tampa once or twice. I think he has a soft spot for Florida

He's played in Tampa, FL and St Petersburg....in the former Soviet Union; so no, we're not talking about Hillsboro and Pinellas Counties

Exactly - just when the D major shifted to D minor, he missed a note (actually a key stroke)...And while there's probably no way to verify that, I agree with you in believing that's why he laughed
-
Either way, it's hysterical to me. lol

To me it looks like as if he made eye contact with someone who had noticed the mistake (and we all did) and who probably pulled a face about it! Whatever,... it's priceless!!!

I can't find video of this, but I recall Paul mentioning during an interview that he had been doing his obligatory, "All right _______________(fill in the name of the city here), we are here to rock you!" bit, and he said the name of the wrong city. lol lol I think the crowd's response was to laugh, and that the reviews said he hadn't lost his Beatles cheekiness and humor, playing with the crowd by naming the wrong city, lol. They thought it was intentional, for humor's sake, while Paul had honestly flubbed the city name. Gotta love our Paul. )

SHE'S A WOMAN, ST. PETERSBURG 2003: I warn ya': It's another bad one:
Skip ahead to 00:56 Paul seemingly makes a joke during the flub -- "It's live!" he yells. That video is not there any more. This one says 2004, but is it the one? He sure screws up the words!
T'would be the one! Thanks! And...yikes!

So Macca flubbed The Long And Winding Road last night in Detroit. Unreal (in the funniest way), he started off singing "The Long and winding road, that the rain...... toooo your door. Here's the link:

He played the Stadium in Tampa in 1990, which I saw, and the St Pete Times Forum in I think 2005, it is in Tampa, downtown, not in St Pete. The Forum is where he fell in hole where the piano was coming up.

I'd rather see a Macca concert fraught with errors than a 100% lip-synched Shitney Smears concert anytime.
LOL Good! I could not agree more.

What happened to his teleprompter? Didn't he use one?

He fell in 2002 in the show in Tampa which was next after Atlanta (where I saw him) didn't he?
