"21 Essential 21st-Century Albums" (??)
-
The twenty-one "essential" 21st Century albums (so far) according to MSN music producers: Adele 21 Jay-Z, The Blueprint 2, The Gift and the Curse The Black-Eyed Peas, The End Eminem, The Marshall Mathers LP Radiohead, Kid-A Outkast, "Stankonia" O Brother Where Art Thou? soundtrack, produced by T-Bone Burnett Bob Dylan, Love and Theft Wilco, Yankee Hotel Foxtrot The White Stripes, Elephant Kanye West, Lake Registration Justin Timberlake, Future Sex Love Sounds Amy Winehouse, Back to Black Miranda Lambert, Crazy Ex-Girlfriend M.I.A., Kayla Lil Wayne, The Carter III TV on the Radio, Dear Science Taylor Swift, Fearless Brad Paisley, American Saturday Nights Lady Gaga, The Fame Monster Arcade Fire, The Suburbs
-
I don't own any of them.
-
I own three of them: Amy Winehouse Arcade Fire Radiohead I think I'll be fine in the 21st Century not owning the other 18.
-
The only album I have from that list is Adele's album 21 .......and that isn't as good as her 19 album, which suggests to me just how useless that list is.
-
Hey! I haven't released any album yet!
-
i think it`s common sense that Funeral is Arcade Fire`s best album, and not the suburbs; but maybe "essential" also means super-sucessful; then it`d be okay, since the suburbs is also very good, but surely not as indie as funeral

I don't own any of them.
me neither thanx goodness
-
I think they are the "essential albums" for the record labels. The ones that have made them earn more money, that's all.

I don't know that the amount of money an album made should disqualify that album from a list of amazing albums.

It depends on who made the list. "15 milion copies! Amazing! Milions of $!" For instance the Grammies are about that. An album must have sold a very high number of copies to be nominated these days (so a lot of money being made) and the winners use to be the ones that have generated more income to the record labels.
-
Oh i feel rather "with it" as i own a few albums on this list Radiohead, The white stripes, Arcade Fire Lady Gaga Oh yes i can get funky now

Some of us were talking about OUR essential albums. For that list, the amount of sales is rather irrelevant. If sales isn't irrelevant in OUR lists, I can't help but worry.
