5th-beatle:
The deluxe edition does look great, but so far it's only listed on Amazon US. What about the UK?
Release date is Oct. 8th in the U.K., Oct. 9th in the U.S. according to TheBeatles.com

OK, I have several people to thank here for alerting me this release when it was first announced and convincing me to pre-order the deluxe version of Magical Mystery Tour. I pre-ordered it from Amazon for $66, and I just looked and it's now priced at $85!!!! I'm grateful to have locked in to the $66 price. So thanks folks.

You're welcome! I just noticed the price hike myself!!

whoops...look like I'll have to wait around the holiday to get this. Not paying 85 bucks for this.

Has anyone heard/read anything about where MMT will be playing on the 27th? Not much advance notice being given!

Eeee Cor Blimey:
i just hope the new extras and Paul commentary are on the DVD and not just exclusive to blu-ray.... that seems to happen a lot lately, and for no reason as there is room on a DVD for it!!!
To requote myself above (!), is the documentary that's just been aired on BBC2 on the blu-ray or the dvd? Same goes for the commentary and all the extras - will they be on the dvd? Or just the blu-ray I was about to order the dvd from amazon, but noticed it didn't list what stuff was on... i fell for this with a dvd a few years ago by someone - it was all advertsied as if all the stuff would be on both the dvd AND blu-ray, but whe i got the dvd, it was just the stuff i already owned and the new stuff was on the blu-ray only. Sorry to sound like i'm whinging! I love MMT, i just want to be sure that the actual disc content is the same on the bog standard £10ish dvd as it is on the other versions! The comm, the outtakes, the documentary, and of course the film! Anyone know?????

Now no savings at $94.98 on Amazon.com. Will not be getting the Deluxe Box unfortunately. Just the Blu-ray on Tuesday.
-
I'm glad I pre-ordered it in August when it was $66.49.

I'm holding out until the xmas holiday for my wife to get me the box set at a reasonable 3rd party price on amazon but I was looking at the reviews and there ARE EASTER EGGS ON THE DVD: they're in the round half circles to the left and right of the main menu bar,and the small stars on the left and right. just above the half circles .I would have never known. They are as follows: "Fish and Chips Shop",where the bus disembarks at a fish and chips shop and they stand in line to eat. "Jessies Blues"-A bus song filmed at night "Magic Alex Sings walls of Jericho,"- another bus song, a sing a long filmed at night "Missing Dining Room Scene"-,an almost Chaplinesque bit that ends with a group version of "For He's A Jolly Good Fellow".

YAY!!! My deluxe MMT just arrived. And it's wonderful. Great packaging. You open up this sturdy box and right on the top is a colorful ticket for the Magical Mystery Tour. And the DVD and blu-ray are held in a 6 inch by 6 inch replica of the Magical Mystery Tour album. Just beautifully done. And I pre-ordered it in time to get the $66 price. I'm going to let it take me away as soon as I get a chance and I'll report back. I don't know who we have to thank but I do appreciate the care and thought that went into the whole set.

Picked up Blue-Ray version of MMT today...really great. Nice section of "extras", including alternate scenes of Fool on the Hill, Your Mother Should Know, and Flying.
-
Awesome to get this and watch it on John Lennon's birthday!

There are supposed to be 4. Someone posted them earlier in this thread.

Just watching my copy now really cleaned it up just one thing i've only ever seen the film of the them doing Hello Goodbye in the Sgt Pepper outfits but on the disc its a black and white film that ive never seen before. Seems chock full of extras on the blu ray so ill send the next day or two going through it.
