Here's hoping... DC, here I come! Venus & Mars/Rock Show Jet Can't Buy Me Love Junior's Farm You Won't See Me Sing the Changes She's a Woman Let Me Roll It/Foxy Lady Getting Better The Long & Winding Road My Valentine Silly Love Songs Maybe I'm Amazed We Can Work It Out And I Love Her Blackbird Bluebird Here Today Dance Tonight Hope of Deliverance Penny Lane All Things Must Pass Band On The Run Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da Birthday One After 909 Uncle Albert/Admiral Halsey Let It Be Live & Let Die Hey Jude (Encore) Get Back I Saw Her Standing There Long Tall Sally Goodnight Tonight (Encore 2) Yesterday Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End Her Majesty
Great list!! I especially like V&M/Rockshow and Birthday (will be my birthday in Tulsa - 6th row) I like the progression of All Things Must Pass then Band On The Run. I would like a killer John song like Lucy in the Sky, Eight Days A Week, or Come Together. Maxwell as the new abbey road song. Rocky as the new white album song. Another Girl as the new early Beatles song. Lovely Rita as the new pepper song. Backseat of my Car as the new Wings song (and Silly Love Songs).
-
I'd also like to see an older solo song like My Brave Face or Lonely Road or Only Mama Knows. Or an older never before played song like Anyway or See Your Sunshine (that bridge ROCKS!).
-
I wonder what the odds are he'll bring back V&M/Rockshow? They are rereleasing W.O.A. and Rockshow on DVD. I'd go nuts!
-
Lonely Road, have a happy Birthday I too will be celebrating my 54th with Paul on May 26th in Memphis. By the way did you do a VIP show in Chicago like in 2002?

Macca would NEVER play "See Your Sunshine." It's about Heather....

Yes safe to say that ain't gonna happen and thank god. LOL

My prediction of what could be done in terms of balance (Beatles, Wings, solo) and what Paul's voice can handle. Most likely unlikely, but here we go: 1. Venus and Mars/Rockshow/Jet: I think this is likely given the WOA re-release. Initially I would have guessed that "Twist and Shout" would be in play for an opener: it's the 50-year anniversary of Please Please Me and he seemed to have a blast performing the song with Springsteen last summer. 2. All My Loving 3. Take It Away: It's about time he did this. He can sing this easily, and it's one of the more under-appreciated great songs in his catalog that moves along nicely. 4. Got To Get You Into My Life: I really wanted to insert Oh! Darling here, but I have my doubts as to whether he can pull it off. GTGYIML is a challenge for him, but there are more moments in the "when you told me..." section of OD that could make it difficult. Hope I am wrong, as I'd love to hear Oh! Darling live. Also, the horns at the end of Take It Away could transition nicely into the opening horns of Got To Get You... 5. P.S. I Love You: 50 years since PPM. A beautiful song. But don't go 1990 on us, Paul. 6. Monkberry Moon Delight: YES. Ram. And he still can pull the screaming voice off perfectly fine. Die hards will love it, and casuals will wonder how Macca transformed into the most awesome version of Screamin' Jay Hawkins ever. 7. Let Me Roll It/Beef Jerky: Not saying I want it, and not saying I don't love the song, but apparently you can't have a Paul McCartney concert without it. I'd love to see the anecdote change, and instead of playing the Hendrix outro, would be great if Paul could acknowledge one of the lighter moments in his and John's solo careers, when John lifted the riff from Let Me Roll It (which, apparently, was part of their feud-in-song) and built the instrumental "Beef Jerky" from Walls and Bridges around it. Would be pretty cool, as its a funky little number and would underscore the love and admiration the two had for each other even after the breakup. 8. You Never Give Me Your Money: Full band, full song. Paul at piano. 9. The Long and Winding Road 10. My Valentine 11. I've Just Seen A Face 12. And I Love Her 13. Tommy's Coming Home (acoustic): OK, so Paul McCartney and Elvis Costello wrote Paul's best song of the late 1980s and no one ever got to hear it. It's a beautiful song, he could introduce it as one that was never released and talk a little about his time with Declan. If you've not heard it go listen to it on YouTube. Now. 14. Picasso's Last Words (Drink To My Health): 2013 marks the 40th anniversary of Pablo Picasso's death, and the excellent anecdote of how Dustin Hoffman essentially challenged Paul to write a song about it. Excellent story. Excellent painter. Excellent song. 15. Silly Love Songs 16. Listen to What The Man Said 17. Lovely Rita Meter Maid 18. Paperback Writer 19. When We Was Fab: Time for a new tribute to George, and this one might be good, as it can also be sung from Paul's perspective. It also honors George's later work. 20. Band On The Run 21. Ob-La-Di Ob-La-Da: John's least favorite song, but my three-year-old daughter's favorite. I'd love to think we'll see him on a future tour, so I'd love for him to keep this in the rotation. 22. I Saw Her Standing There 23. Magneto and Titanium Man: Didn't Rusty or Brian say they were trying to get Paul to play this? 24. Dance Tonight: I'd prefer Ever Present Past, but whatever, he'll never do it. 25. Let It Be 26. Live and Let Die 27. Hey Jude First Encore: 28. Beautiful Boy: In 1989, when Paul held his press conference announcing the World Tour at the Lyceum Theater in NYC, he mentioned he'd love to do some of John's songs as a tribute and mentioned this one alongside others like Imagine. I am sure you've all seen the video of Paul on YouTube from the 1980's where this song plays in the background and he is visible moved hearing it. Paul always said that when John had Sean that it gave him (Paul) something to hold onto in their relationship, as Paul clearly loves his own family, and John was starting a new one and seemed happy. This would be a devastating and beautiful tribute, and Paul could introduce it and say simply, "this one's for John (and Sean)..." If he can get through Here Today, I would imagine he could get through this. 29. Get Back 30. Back Seat of My Car 31. Goodnight Tonight Second Encore 33. Yesterday 34. All Together Now 35. Golden Slumbers/Carry That Weight/The End Third Encore 36. Spies Like Us: Because EVERYONE was wrong. Just kidding. The evening ends with The End.

ROFL!!! We should start a campaign at his shows... have several banners at every show on this tour that reads "WE WANT SPIES LIKE US"... start a petition and everything!!!

Too much rain House of Wax Follow me Beautiful night Country dreamer My brave face With a little luck Take it away Wanderlust Your loving flame (unlikely given to whom the song was written, but...) For no one In my life (kinda tribute to John, but incidentally my favorite song) Penny Lane Two of us John's tribute: Imagine or Watching the wheels (How do you sleep I think is out of the conversation) George's tribute: When we was fab or even All those years ago (tribute to both)

With the 'Out There' tour fast approaching, what we do all think is going to be played? While I'm certainly not going to raise my hopes but there's a couple of things that spring to mind; 1) Change the opening song, Paul must realise there are other songs besides Hello Goodbye or Magical Mystery Tour. i.e 5th Beatle's suggestion about opening with PPM songs. 2) Alter the second half of the show after the acoustic section as its been pretty much the same the last 3 or 4 years!
Most likely option is: 3) None of the above and play the same old s**t!
I feel it in my bones -- Paul's got some major surprises in store. I anticipate lots of Beatles, but he's gonna dig deep. And I have a feeling that his solo catalog is going to finally get some sun.
-
I'm feeling the surprises, too! I think Please Please Me and/or Twist and Shout are likely to make an appearance, considering it's the 50th Anniversary of Please Please Me. I'd also love to hear a different John tribute. Not that Here Today and Give Peace a Chance aren't great, but maybe In My Life? It might be the obvious choice, but it would be pretty touching.

I hope you're right. However, this same thing was said before the last tour and there were very few changes. However, with every tour he has given us a few "new" gems!

I've been eternally optimistic. But THIS TIME, it looks like Paul is poising himself to out-do himself as a live performer.

Same here, man, same here. Brutal that he's again not touring Europe properly, and I'm going to miss out on this round. By the time he will be back the biggest shockers will be replaced already.
-
How about changing the tributes? "Here Comes The Sun" instead of "Something" "In My Life" instead of "Here Today" And since he has performed "Come And Get It", why not "Goodbye" this time? He can call it a tribute to his old friend Mary Hopkin, if he likes. I just want to hear him doing that song!

Nice ideas, but Paul Simon already does the most gorgeous version of Here Comes The Sun, and I think Paul M. would be aware of that, since they are close. Would love to see him perform "When We Was Fab," "All Those Years Ago," or something else from George's later catalogue. I still hold out hope for something less predictable than "In My Life," for John, and think "Beautiful Boy" or another of John's solo works that means something special to Paul would be great, recognizable and well received.

Some of the best shockers do seem to have a short life-span, don't they? I'm thinking you guys will see Paul in the fall.
