Well! Learn something new everyday...I don't get it personally. I guess people go every eyar for the atmosphere no matter who is there...not how I go about selecting concerts!
Yea, I'm with you on this one!

i just got an email from Outside Lands (SF) saying that "eager beaver" tickets go on sale Thursday...but that is BEFORE they announce the lineup!
Well that's odd! Why would anyone buy them if they didn't know who's there? :
They always release the cheapest festival tickets before revealing the lineup, all the big festivals do it. Most of the festival crowd go because it's Outside Lands and not because of anyone in particular on the lineup.

Same with me! I don't have a ton of money to spend on stuff like this, so I'm very particular about the concerts I go to.

They might just like festivals, music, the fun. And even if they are, imagine being at a party and Paul McCartney shows up!

I also received the email (to both my email addresses) 2-3 hours late and I am in the same time zone as Boston, MPL!! (not that I planned on going to Boston, but this does not bode well for future pre-sale announcements!)
-
No dates announced today. Maybe tomorrow.
-
I think it really sucks the way they announce the dates. I don't care about the rumors...the artist should announce & let us decide & make our plans for the summer...or fall...whatever.

I agree but it's a method of increasing ticket sales.

I've been to Outside Lands a few times and it's a fantastic festival. The weather is MUCH better than Coachella and they also have food from local restaurants, beer from local breweries, and wine from local vineyards. I've bought their Eager Beaver tickets a few times, because my friends live within walking distance of the park and it's a fun weekend.

Awesome. Looking forward to wraping up the Paul tour at Outside Lands.

Yes, it's pretty strategic from a business and money making stand point.. People will buy tickets for a city a few hundred miles away thinking that's the closest he will come to them. Then a few days later, a closer city is announced and people end up going to both shows. I just missing seeing the whole schedule at once and buying tickets months in advance. We haven't had that in the states since 2005! Many people can't get off work with short notice either. And in the summer people are planning vacations and are now waiting for Paul's tour schedule to move forward in planning!

but he doesn't need this marketing strategy. he'll sell out regardless.

More pre-sale tickets for Boston were just released, according to the Facebook page.

Just saw that too. Doesn't look like anything too great. Seats that are farther back, side field, and in the stands. Nothing in the front three A sections..
-
Those seats are terrible.
