If Paul were to play Indianapolis, what is the likely venue. Could the locals weigh in?
It's a tough one. There is the arena, Conseco Fieldhouse (or...Bankers Life Fieldhouse now). I saw Paul there in 2002. But....I just don't see Paul playing an arena in the summer. The next option is Lucas Oil Stadium. It's pretty new and HUGE. It's where the Colts play. We did some research and turns out the only concert there has been Kenny Chesney. I'm sure Paul could play there - but seriously..it's really, really, really big. Besides that there is an ampitheatre north of Indy called Klipsch Music Center. But, it's pretty small and has the pavillion/lawn set up. I really don't see Paul playing there.
there is a reason also why so few concerts ( I think they have had more than one) because of the accoustics. That concert made the news concerning all the trouble they had and people were very upset. I would like to see him play Klipsch if he is willing to play for only 24 thousand. but I doubt it also.
24,000 is not a small crowd. I think McCartney played to a crowd that big in Salt Lake City a couple of years ago.
I'm also skeptical because that venue is in Noblesville, not Indianapolis. Has Paul ever played a suburb and billed the show as in the city before?
The Cowboy Stadium show was billed as Dallas but it is in Arlington, if that is what you were asking. I see a lot of acts at this particular venue bill it as Indy.

Paul played FedEx Field back in 2009 - it's the home of the Washington Redskins, but the stadium is in Landover, MD. I don't know for sure if the concert was billed as a DC or Maryland stop, though.
Yeah, that show was constantly billed and referred to as Washington DC despite it actually being in Landover, MD

So another day goes by with no announcement. I think the Red Sox really screwed us all over by announcing their concert obviously before Paul's team was ready, thus throwing the rest of their probably already hap-hazard plans into chaos. We probably won't hear anything till Monday now.

I'm beginning to think the same thing...

They have to at least give us 24 hours notice, right?

That's fine as long as the entire itinerary is announced.

But we know it won't be... :

I wouldn't count on that.

Awesome! Lucas Oil, Conseco, and Verizon are all the same distance from me, so I'm fine either way! I just hope it happens..I'm ready for that official announcement and I know I'm not alone!

If there is a show scheduled for May 18, then Monday April 8 is forty days away from that show. Seems like it needs to be announced.

Then I guess we can all breathe again until then.

Yeah! What is the closest McCartney has announced to a major concert?

All the ones I have been to have been 4-6 weeks before the show. But the closest he's ever done? Probably the secret gigs in '07!!!

That's understandable. Four weeks, that's 28 days! So we could be waiting until April 20 for an announcement!!

Basically, yeah! I don't remember exact days but, I do remember waking up early on my first day of summer vacation 2009 (so approx. June 15th) to buy tickets for the Citi Field show!!!

That sounds about right! That show popped up out of nowhere! Not much notice or time to think about going when that one was announced!

If you want to talk about not much notice, back in April 1976 I was on my way to work when an announcement came on the radio that tickets for Paul's (Wings) first New York area concert since the Beatles would be going on sale at 10:00 a.m. this morning. Needless to say back then the only way of finding out about these tours was by the rock radio stations. Yes...I played "hookie" that day...went on line at the Nassau Coliseum and scored floor seats for one amazing show!! Much easier these days...

For my first Paul concert in 1990, I was a newly-single mom, and couldn't stand on line. I spent a long time on the phone to Ticket Master, trying to get through. It was constantly busy, and my mom's phone didn't have re-dial. I'm amazed I actually got the tickets.
