Washington, DC, National's Park, July 12th 2013 - ARCHIVE

I got the e-mail from Crowdsurge on Monday afternoon and my tickets arrived in the mail on Friday. So happy to have them in hand! Can't wait for the show!!! Hope to meet some of you there! Is anyone familiar with the ballpark? Would there be an area inside where we could have a board meetup? It would be fun to match board names with faces.

I was surprised that good tickets are still available! I missed the pre-sale then was not going to go because I have to walk home from the Ballston metro station around 1:00 am and there are creeps that hang out around the area. But creeps hang out there all hours of the day. Does anyone have opinions on Nationals Ballpark?

I've only been there once before. 2009, their first concert at the stadium, Elton John and Billy Joel. The stadium handled it very poorly. Only one entrance/exit was used for getting the field filled with fans. Very mixed security too. They were not all on the same page with the policies for the evening. I know since then they've had The Eagles, Dave Matthews Band, Bruce Springsteen and somebody else...pretty much one a year...so hopefully by 2013 with Sir Paul, they've figured out what they're doing.

We'll see. I heard about similar problems for the Springsteen concert there.

apparently at the Springsteen concert last year, there were only two ways for people to access the field, and that caused a huge wait/backup. So that doesn't sound like much improvement from the Elton/Billy concert in 2009.

Just bought my tickets for DC from Stubhub at $25 over face each. It was a good deal for floor seats for my first McCartney show! Leading up to it, I had been checking the official ticket site for for floor seats - all they had was Tier 2 or worse. Today, though, I was able to fins a pair together on the aisle in row 29 of Section 6. If you're still looking for tickets, at least as I type this, there is at least that pair available! Good luck. I'm pretty sure this link will get you there: http://washington.nationals.mlb.com/was/ticketing/mccartney.jsp

: LOADS of tickets still available. I guess the ticket agencies bought everything up in April but I am very surprised at how many seats are still available at this late date. It would be great if we could do what me and my friends did when we saw The Who at Constitution Hall way back in 1968; some people left early so we took their seats in the center front rows!

Lovely, you'd think after all these years they would have figured that out by now. Good thing we plan to get there early anyway.

: Is anyone familiar with the seating at Nationals Ballpark? Does anyone know how many rows of seats there are to a section in the stands? I have seat 18 in Section 134 and I am hoping it is an aisle or near to the aisle seat.

If you look at StubHub, you can actually filter so only aisle seats come up. If you select a few, you might find some in a section that looks like yours that aren't #1, which is obviously an aisle. Looking at the map, though, your section seems larger than most, so you might not find out until you get there. I live in Philly, and if this park is anything like ours, 18 is sort of in the middle. No matter, you look to have a staller seat for the show of the Summer!
-
Thanks for telling me about StubHub and how you can select an aisle seat!! I found one in Field 4A. I think it is the last row. Now I am going to try to give my seat in the side stalls to one of my relatives as a not-to-be forgotten gift!

Somewhere on this board I know there is a "tickets at face value" thread. You might have better luck posting there. Good luck!
