"Out There" 2013 Setlist Critique and Suggestions

I think Paul has the songs most wanted, but won't be played live played right before he comes out to get us in the mood and we can at least hear them in some capacity. Goodnight Tonight, With A Little Luck, No More Lonely Nights, Uncle Albert, Silly Love Songs.

I was reading the program last night and in the pages where they interview the band, they ask each one which songs they would like to play and Brian said one is Back seat of my car and he said they rehearsed it a few years ago which I found very surprising.
The US Tour if I'm not mistaken.
Yeah, I remember reading that on here a few years ago. When the Ram re-issue came out we all thought he was gonna play it at that Mexico City gig he did just before it!
That is my favorite Ram song. Wow. Just the idea that they've actually rehearsed it is awesome. I've often wondered what's been rehearsed that hasn't made the cut.
A lot of songs that are in the set now were rehearsed from as early as the US tour (and some that were played recently but dropped) Venus and Mars/Rock Show...Come and Get it...Hi Hi Hi...Junior's Farm The big one for me that never made it out was NO MORE LONELY NIGHTS.
Very true. The interviews with the band from the last 10 years in which they talk about this subject are sounding like some unrealistic fan dream list, but... Most of those songs made the cut in the last few years! The future is looking good.

Even if he lowered "No More Lonely Nights" a mere half-step, it wouldn't blemish the song's beauty one bit. And hasn't it been a while since David Gilmour and Paul shared the same stage? (hint, hint)

Hope Paul might do this before the end of this decade in all seriousness. Heck next year would even be good.

Thank ya', gents.

Not exactly the mindset he has now

"old package...60s R&R pkg" I've seen this quite a bit in his old interviews. :

Anybody wanna take a stab at the Japan November setlist variations? Are we to expect some new songs to force their way in? If so, how many and what does he drop?
-
Not until we have a release date for the new album At a quick glance at the setlist...I counted 17/37 that haven't been played in Japan before...take out some repeats, put in some new album tracks...and they'll have a fairly minty fresh show

I think after the new album is released he may decide to ditch Mr Kite, All together now and Your mother should know. Though the following are getting a bit stale; Paperback Writer Helter Skelter Day Tripper All my Loving My Valentine

I think if he adds new songs, My Valentine will be the first to go, probably along with a couple Wings tunes -- Hi Hi Hi, most likely. Unfortunately, I'd bet money that the percentage of Beatles songs remains the same.

I agree, I think My Valentine is his "I Want To Come Home" of the tour.
-
Not so sure he will drop My Valentine for Japan - after all, it's for Nancy...
-
Random thought goes in random thread: I also just now realise 'I've Just Seen A Face' has been transposed all that time.

I agree with you, but perhaps not for an audience that hasn't seen him in 11 years.

Why would he drop three deep beatles tracks that he JUST started playing? That doesn't make any sense. Plus, pretty much every promo I've seen for this tour in a magazine or television or anything boasts that he's playing "Mr. Kite"...I don't think we'll be able to determine what songs will leave until we know what type of songs he's adding, I'd imagine it would be an assortment...so we'd lose an opening rocker, an acoustic band song, maybe a solo acoustic song, a 2nd half rocker too? Probably no encore changes.

Since we are all just guessing, I suspect MY VALENTINE will go, so will 1985 and maybe JUNIOR'S FARM.
