Our Breakfast with the Beatles last Sunday devoted the whole show to George. It was very nice hearing so much George at one time...2 hours.

Hard to believe the youngest Beatle would have been 71 today! http://www.examiner.com/article/they-say-it-s-his-birthday-fans-friends-honor-beatle-george-harrison?CID=examiner_alerts_article

Yeah, I'm sure "When I'm Six-Four" probably sounded ancient when Paul wrote it...remember the long white beards on Yellow Submarine? Now it sounds quite young compared to the ages of the Beatles (not to mention it doesn't sound too old any more even for me yikes!). And no long white beards yet!

The Beach Boys' Mike Love has written a song for George's birthday! Happy 71st George. http://www.rollingstone.com/music/news/beach-boys-mike-love-honors-george-harrison-with-unreleased-track-20140225

Forgive me if I posted this somewhere else, but my local station (Triple A format) played "Dark Horse" yesterday! I didn't hear how they introduced it, but it had to be because of his birthday today, I'm thinking. I certainly haven't heard that song on the radio since the '70s! (Or they could have played it in reference to Katy Perry having a number one song right now with a completely different "Dark Horse" song.)

The song is called "Pisces Brothers" because Mike Love's birthday is Mar. 15, 1941. I think they celebrated their birthdays in India. (I met Mike & the rest of the Beach Boys in Atlanta in 197 Me & Mike:

Hi NancyR! So, you met Mike Love? I met Mike in L.A. in 1981, I met the late Dennis Wilson first, I became great friends with Denny till the day he died in December 1983. As for Mike, I never got along with him. How well did you get along with Mike?

Pretty well! We even exchanged letters & phone calls for a while (I met Denny too, and Carl, Al, Bruce. Everyone but Brian. He was a recluse then.) Did you see the photo I posted above? I edited the post to add it, so you may have missed it.

I see it! That's a nice picture of you. I'm glad that you got along with him better than I did. Mike always treated me bad, I even got into a fist fight with him.

How's it going Erik in NJ? I wish that I could say that I won and vice versa with Mike but as it turned out, it was a tie! Denny and Carl stepped in between us and broke us apart before the fight really started. I was only 20 years old at the time while Mike was around 40. I'm more embarrassed now because the fight was a tie, I should have won that fight seeing that I was younger. Denny told me shortly after that fight that I was his hero, I never understood why. Denny always told me that Mike was an SOB as a fighter, I guess I should feel good after tying him.

Hi jl - Interesting that you hung out with them and even got in a fist fight with Love. I'm not a BB fan, but if the Beatles induction into the R&R HOF is any indication, he seems pretty reckless about p*ssing off lots of people (I hope Nancy didn't clock him too :lol. My question about "who won" was a bit tongue-in-cheek with the CSN line from the song "Wooden Ships," but thanks for your candidness. What is your first name BTW, not a fan of the anonymous "handles" on here. Regards, Erik
