Didn't know WR played either! This show was outdoors too, in Las Vegas. There were MASSIVE rain clouds and we all thought it was gonna rain (there had been thunderstorms days before) - luckily it didn't.

Very cool Jordan! And yes, do I ever play! All thanks to Paul of course...I've got a youtube channel, I'll do a little shameless self-promotion here. I don't update it often, the most recent vids are from Baltimore Soundstage, with The Matthew King Trio...I'm on bass/keys. There also vids of my first band (Chaos and Creation ) some instrumental piano vids, some vids from my "real job" (I'm Director of Contemporary Worship Music at my church...hardly a job at all!!) And a vid (audio only) of Audi and I doing Let Me Roll It!
I'm currently getting some vocal coaching, and hoping to expand my musicalness in new ways very soon -

Was Ringo good live? I've never really considered going to see him. I'd like to satisfy my curiosity, though. How often does he do UK shows?

I believe he toured Europe in '92, '98, and '10...rumor has it that a South American leg of the current lineup is being planned for the fall, and another European tour with the same lineup in the spring.

I just saw Nick Lowe is playing with Eleni Mandell at the Troubadour, a small club in L.A. Not to familiar with Mandell's work, but I'm sure if she's touring with Lowe she must have some great work. Now at the top of my list of concerts to see this fall.

Leaving in about two hours to go see Boston, Kansas and, Grand Funk Railroad!!!
-
Cool ^^^ Have fun!
-
Should be a fun time! General Admission $20 event...basically, they took a bunch of bands that have half the original members and a few hits from the 70's and made a night of it.

Overall, an okay concert experience. Showtime was 7pm, which is when we pulled up running a bit late. Grand Funk Railroad started right at 7, so we could hear them as we walked up, but the entry line was huge. I've never seen anything like it. It was held on a military base, so they searched everyone and checked their ID. Quite a hassel, beyond that part which was too organized, everything else about the "venue" was extremely unorganized. But, moving on...Grand Funk Railroad is getting closer to their boat...being washed up. It sounded like "I'm Your Captain" and "We're An American Band" were the only ones they rehearsed...it was rough. Kansas was okay...but not a very entertaining show...all their songs carry a similiar sound which in most cases, is dreary. But I the band I most wanted to see was the headliner, Boston. And boy did they deliver! Grand Funk and Kansas each did relatively average one hour sets. Boston did two extremely lively and entertaining hours of grand musical demonstration. There is so much talent and inspiration on that stage...I had no idea!! It rained heavily during Grand Funk's set, so by the time Boston played, I was a wet, cold, muddy mess. But it was worth it for Boston! Very impressive....if you have the chance, see them. They are in the midst of their US tour with Kansas. Grand Funk Railroad was a "special" guest for this concert at the proving grounds.

Have fun! My step-mom is a huge Springsteen fan, he's coming on my father and hers' anniversary so of course they'll be there!

Wix for $20 that's a great price. Dang, The Boss is someone I'd like to see!

Last night, I traveled to Atlantic City to see Roger Hodgson (again) of Supertramp. We had 5th row seats right in front of him! This time he had a full band, as opposed to the solo acoustic show I saw last fall (when I got to meet him!!) It was a great night and Roger's catalog is so often overlooked. He really was Supertramp, and it's a shame him and the other guys can't work things out ever really but...he's doing just fine. He give the most emotional deliveries of songs I've ever seen. He nearly brought himself into tears on a solo piece called "Puppet Dance", and was in hysterics (the good kind!) bantering back and forth with the crowd. He is such a light-hearted and kind spirit. He does shows with full Orchestras too. That's the only one I haven't seen yet, and I'd certainly go see it in a heartbeat if it came close enough! But this is the first proper US Tour of any sort he's done in a very, very long time. Last year's performance in AC was just a one off.

I can add another Atlantic City show to my list! My Grandparents were given 4 tickets by the casino to see Buddy Guy at Harrah's! So while my concert year starts to wind down...I've got... Sept. 8th- Buddy Guy- Harrah's, Atlantic City Sept. 22nd- Ray Manzarek/ Robby Krieger- Borgata, Atlantic City They aren't concerts but, I've got tickets for Wicked on 10/21, and Hairspray on 1/26 with John Waters narating and MICKEY DOLENZ as Wilbur Turnblad!
