Hating Over the Mini-Stage
-
I'd say it's second in uselessness to the hole in the stage where Paul's piano was in that one tour. They dropped that pretty quickly. And it did push back where the front rows would normally be making it further from Paul. The 'normal' gap is large enough so that you will have a clear view of him up front, except possibly when he moves to the piano. That's when being at the side of the stage is an advantage. And I don't remember what show it was, but they created another row in front of the Vip section, probably of friends and guests which was annoying as well. This time it doesn't seem to be appearing on the seating charts so hopefully it's gone.

I agree! And it didn't appear in the seating chart for Louisville (Like it did last year for Memphis, etc.) so fingers crossed!!

Does anyone even know yet if he is indeed going to use the rising stage this year?
We really won't know until the 19th in Uruguay. While I understand the position of those sitting near the stage their dislike of the "rising stage", I have to admit having seen it from near and far, sitting away from the platform, the "running water" affect is really beautiful! It actually appears that the entire stage is "floating"...pretty amazing!! And, the best part, for those up front...it's only 2 songs.

Well, I'd rather there be no mini-stage and therefore be closer to Paul the entire show! (I had 4th row center in Memphis and hope to have the same in a future concert)

Yea, I agree with you Nancy. Are you going to any of his upcoming shows?

I didn't see it in any of the seating charts either. Just another big piece of equipment that they need to transport.

I was on first row last time, and the rising stage didn't bother me at all. But I like the idea of a B-stage. Or what Coldplay did on their last tour: a short unplugged set in the middle of the audience. That was cool!

In Boston last year, i was up front at the barrier and as the platform started rising, it hesitated and shook a few seconds! Paul actually had to stabilized himself for a second or two, but it seemed like an eternity.. All of us in the front row gasped loudly, and 4-5 workers went rushing over to it. Anyone else see that happen? Paul continued his ascent and didn't bat an eye. Scary moment....

...Wish he would do what Arcade Fire is doing in their tour and put in a backstage near the soundboard area. It was only for 3 songs, but it created good feelings, especially for the surprise element and the fact that the fans in the back really did get a chance to see some of them up close...
I love the idea of a B-stage. U2 has done it. The Stones have done it. Awesome.
Agreed. Kind of a dumb thing to complain about. He got the whole band on the "cherry picker crane" on the New World Tour. Same thing really. Just gets Paul out into the crowd a little. Good for him!

Paul's not "out in the crowd" he's at the barrier of the 1st row... I hafta say the Rolling Stones actually out halfway thru the crowd is actually pretty cool...on their mini -stages

Rolling my eyes because it seems silly to quibble about a minor inconvenience like the stage setup when the whole purpose of going to a concert is to see HIM perform. If a person is able to pay a lot of money for a VIP ticket does that mean they are entitled to be close enough to see his nose hairs? Does it specify on the VIP ticket that the VIP ticketholder will be X amount of feet from Paul? And then when the VIP ticketholder isn't as close as they had hoped for, are they allowed to sue the ticket company? : : :

everyone's entitled to their feelings and opinions - no one is saying anything about suing or they want to look at Paul's nose hairs,,, you are,,,haha.. it just takes away from the experience. You have nothing to worry about if you are not buying these VIP tix...now, do you? row 1 isn't actually row 1 anymore it's more like row 5 or 7....and if you have experienced the floor and these front rows it feels like a take away... those tix are expensive... every ones circumstances are different and if someone wants to spend that type of money to see their favorite artist or their entire life savings -it's their choice... no need to suggest or slight fans - hopefully,... it's the real fans that get these seats & not someone with $$$'s to burn.. they want to be up close & personal-- it's the ticket holders personal experience... no need for the eye rolling --- I'm done here ....

Yes, if he comes to Atlanta or Nashville (or somewhere relatively close to Atlanta!)
