I can't believe that Paul would skip Seattle after the amazing time that he (and thousands of his adoring fans) shared in Seattle at Safeco Field last year. It really was a very special concert.
well, at least Paul has a summer tour this year in the USA. It's been said by many people already but it's worth repeating. Not every place has had a visit by Paul either at all or for years. It's nice that he went to Seattle last year so hold on to that.

I wouldn't count Jacksonville in 2005 since it was a 14 min performance at the Super Bowl. Not really a concert and not really open to locals (or anyone) to buy tickets really. I would consider that a first time. That would make 7 out of 19 stops first timers (over a 1/3). And only Chicago and San Fran (which is basically getting a special show) have had him more recently than 4 years ago. I wonder how many Buddy Holly songs he will do in Lubbock. RamblinRed

You Guys in the Usa are very lucky indeed to get to see Paul year In year out I cant afford flights to the USA from Uk. Think of us UK fans. He doesnt even visit his home country anymore . even through Elton and Rod stewart allways do a home Uk Tour for there home fans and have done for years. I would want to see Paul more than them, ! and poor Austraia havent seen Paul for years. !

If he had to sing one, I think it should be "Love Is Strange" and include the "la la la-la-la la"s

I'm thinking That'll Be the Day which was the B Side of the Quarrymen's first record w/In Spite Of All the Danger, or Words of Love which The Beatles recorded and was on Live at the BBC Vol. II last year.

I would say that "It's So Easy" will probably be the song he plays, this has been a soundcheck staple and would probably be the front runner

Plus, he's played "It's So Easy" live before when he played in Dallas in 2009:

I don't count that time he was in Atlanta in 2009--it was outdoors in a park, in August, 100 degrees in the shade, general admission, and it rained! I thankfully had sense enough to realize I'd be miserable if I went. The time prior to that was at Philips Arena in 2005 (so almost 10 years since most people could have seen him)

I agree that would probably be the choice but since this is in Buddy Holly's birthplace(?) maybe he's working on another song : could be a surprise

not for a couple years time if anything were to occur. completely a rumour and nothing to do with the "Out There" tour. http://www.lasvegassun.com/vegasdeluxe/2014/may/01/paul-mccartney-ringo-starr-ufc-mayweather-opening-/

I'm wondering if he's going to slip "Early Days" into the set for the U.S. dates. There was a video shot for that song, but now "Save Us" is the new single, so maybe the "Early Days" footage would make its way into the live set?
-
We'll have a better idea once he plays Lubbock. Don't know if he'll change anything more for Japan
-
But he may just think that the 4 songs from "new" will be enough changes since he ddn't play them last summer

I feel for you. I totally understand. I hope he makes it to the UK, but it does feel crappy when he keeps coming back to the states. I hate to say it but there is more money in it. Keep the faith. He will return to his home country and then the US fans will be complaining.

Realistically, I bet you're right, Bob, although I do agree that he's likely to play something by Buddy Holly in Lubbock. Of course, his song "Get Me Out Of Here" has obvious references to Buddy's "Oh Boy," but that's probably a stretch.

Bob Gannon:

Hi Bob...I think Japan will actually be the trigger for any changes in the setlist. Since he's already played the "NEW" songs at several Japan concerts in November, if he was going to shake it up or include additional "NEW" songs, it would most likely be there.
-
...and speaking of concerts in Japan (and S. Korea), is there any more talk of additional shows this time around in Asia? With only 3 scheduled so far in Japan and one in Korea, it seems that there are quite a few gaps in the dates listed: Saturday, May 17th -- National Stadium, Tokyo Sunday, May 18th -- National Stadium, Tokyo Saturday, May 24th -- Yanmar Stadium Nagai -- Osaka Wednesday, May 28th - Jamsil Sports Complex Main Stadium--Seoul, S. Korea

Err,i miss Paul as much as anyone there is no one quite like him,but honestly i think he saturated the UK market with his "mini" tour ethos of the last few years,he may well have done just a date or two each year but it looked like he was never away, that and i really think the stick Paul got for those pretty poor performances at the jubilee and the Olympics hurt Paul on a personal level and we're paying the "price" if indeed there is a price to be paid by his absence over the last year or so. America because of its sheer size can take him every year he can (not that he does) go to different places each and every year and really never double up at venues from the years just passed,we cant do that in the UK so we have to hunker down and wait it out and he'll be back, though i suspect it'll be next year now for the UK and i suspect the Aussies will never see him again (based on nothing more than a gut feeling).
