Favorite Beatles Era?

The album is criminally underrated. Its the most inspirational album the Beatles made. The only song that feels like a "throwaway" is 'one after 909', probably since it was written nearly 10 years earlier. If I had to pick one favorite, it would be "Across the Universe".

The Long and Winding Road is one of my favorite songs from any Beatles album...but I have to admit, I like the 'Naked', Anthology and Paul live versions better than the Let it Be version...If I had to stick with the exact recording/take that ended up on Let It Be, it would be a close tie between the title track and Across the Universe...then I've Got A Feeling along with Get Back running a close second...While For You Blue is not a particular favorite, I find something charming about that song that makes it a keeper

JoeySmith - Great song. It sounds a bit "other-worldly" at times and remains true to John's songwriting abilities. richn - One of my favorites! I like the studio recording due to its orchestral backing, but I also like Paul's slight melodic variations in his live performances. A McCartney show would be incomplete without it! -Rubber Soul13

It is tough as there are so many great things about each era. I'd have to go with Abbey Road since it's my favorite album. That said, it is like trying to name a favorite child.

Great choice with Abbey Road, edcrawf! -Rubber Soul13

I'll have to go with Let it Be and the rooftop concert. So great to see them play together live and have a good time.

Great choice, liv4art! -Rubber Soul13

What's YOUR favorite Beatles period? -Rubber Soul13

1982, when they had "The Beatles' Movie Medley". That was huge!
-
I liked it a lot better when they were all alive and making music.

When they were all alive and making music, I was not. Well, I was born in 1967. Always wished it was the 60s in the 80s... Woodstock and all that, The Beatles... always loved that period. It seemed like so much fun, at least to be young in the 60s. Getting old is so sad in this life. Probably was in the 60s too.
