This Will Make Some of You Even More Bonkers-Paul & Gaga

^^ I agree with the exception that not only can Lady Gaga sing, but she plays the piano like nobody's business. She has a great, and beautiful voice. Being able to play the piano means she is a musician, which sets her apart from the other artists above, except Paul. I really was so thrilled with her performance last night. She is lovely.
Great singers ARE great musicians, something other musicians readily acknowledge. This has been discussed here before. Whether the instrument is one's voice or a box with strings laid across it, musicianship is musicianship. I happen to have a lot of musicians in my family, and they're unanimous on this point. But the way, the Lady Gaga Oscars clip has been taken down from YouTube, because the Motion Picture Academy is, among other faults, a bunch of copyright Nazis.

I'm sure ABC-TV had something to do with that. They aired the show.

More likely it's the Academy. They're as tough as Disney on copyright and trademark issues. But I posted that before seeing that someone had posted an alternative source for the video, which was still working last time I looked.

Here...it is embedded in this article & it is on youtube. Hope you both ^^ can view it.
Thank you. I'm not surprised that Gaga can sing. I'm surprised that so many professional singers can't.

Every musician I know and have ever met and read about agrees with you and your family.

Euterpe is the Greek Muse of Lyrical Poetry. "The Muses were both the embodiments and sponsors of performed metrical speech: mousike (hence the English term "music")" If I interperet this correctly...Singers Are Musicians...and may actually have been the original definition of what a musician is. I have played guitar off and on for a long time and was a very influential street musician for awhile in the mid 70's. My mother played piano. Her mother played piano in a swing band. My dad's mom used to play the guitar and sing "Jimmy cracked corn" to us kids. My older brother wrote some pretty good folk songs in the 70's and was invited to play his guitar and sing them on a local radio station but got cold feet. (He didn't have any experience singing in public) And, my youngest grandson played lead guitar in a highschool rockband and did a few gigs until it started interfering with his school work...that's when my oldest daughter made him put the music on hold.

Musicality is definitely "in the genes." My son is self-taught on the guitar (lead) and drums. Both myself and his dad play guitar and his dad also played piano.

Well, sometimes. My dad was quite musical as are both my brothers. I made a couple attempts to learn to play instruments, but my own musical ability ranks just about equal with my ability to run a mile in under 4 minutes -- or, roughly: When. Hell. Freezes. Over. LOL.

Well, someone's gotta be in the audience!

A performer without an audience is just someone singing in the wind.

7 or 8 NEW SONGS?!? Earlier in the week, Deadline took a tour of the RGH facilities. The company is currently developing a sizzle reel for High In The Clouds, in which McCartney will voice one of the main characters. It will also feature seven or eight of his new songs, including a rollicking tune performed by Lady Gaga that hasn?t been heard yet outside the studio. I heard rumors about Katie Perry too. http://deadline.com/2015/05/rgh-entertainment-devleoping-3d-in-360-degrees-1201423318/

I have the book, it's a children's book. With the two on the team, Gaga and Perry, the project at least will get wide attention. But it is perhaps the point of it too?
-
It should be interesting.

I hope there will be a record release, unlike the "Destiny" video game sountrack last year. Well, I'm still hoping for physcial release... But with Lady Gaga and things I would think that this has more sales posibility than incidental music. Rupert the Bear is kind of children's fun for everyone. I read "High in the Clouds" the book, I thought it was a bit tame maybe, more like for three year olds or very little kids. Time will tell...

Lady Bonkers would be a good stage name.

I would expect that this will get a physical release. There will be a CD, an LP, a digital download, a CD packaged with a reissue of the book, and eventually a CD packaged with a DVD of the movie, and with a Blu-Ray of the movie, and a squirrel-shaped 12-inch single of the Lady Gaga song. Probably.

I see what you did there.
