THE NEXT DELUXE/REMASTERED ALBUM FROM PAUL
-
Bonus disc track listings for these two are extremely disappointing - there's not anything that hasn't already been available for years; in fact, we're even minus a few items. With the exception of It's Not On, which is on the POP bonus disc, I see no reason to fork out one penny for this rip-off. There's no doubt about it - this archive project is a disaster of the first order.

All the people buy the Beatles remasters and no one have bonus discs and no one says nothing bad about it....i'm still finding a macca fan in this forum....maybe i'm wrong and i'm in the rolling stones forum!

A Beatles collection such as that doesn't need bonus discs. Although they did actually come with a bonus DVD, so you are incorrect with that assertion.

Tomatos and potatos, lads. If I am expected to pay 60+ USD for a remaster of an album I already have, I expect for it to have as much bonuses, rehearsals, alternate takes, unreleased tracks and demos as possible. Books are nice, but all Macca deluxes -and I mean ALL- are disappointing audio content wise.

A couple of fans in another forum have received promo copies of the CDs & DVDs. I'm waiting to read their reviews.

I was in London yesterday where, at Fopp's in Leicester Square, I picked up a copy of the Wings At The Speed Of Sound ( 2 disc) archive collection album for the bargain price of £6 (reduced from £13). There was about another half dozen copies on the shelf. Unfortunately Venus And Mars is still at £13.

I won Wings at the Speed of Sound 2 disc (which I didn't have in Deluxe) on a Beatles cruise trivia contest!

Congratulations, that's brilliant. Did you actually choose the prize or was it just good luck that it was a prize that you'd appreciate?

Interesting. Looks like they are skipping Back to the Egg and London Town.

On its release in 1989 'Flowers In The Dirt' was a much needed return to form for Paul but I'm quite disappointed that the Archive Collection series hasn't returned to those early Wings albums.

I've said it before, but I don't believe that schedule was ever legitimate, aside from some of the early ones. At best, maybe some low-level employee at Concord had some "hopes" of what might come out, but we'll be lucky to get even a third of all of that, I think! Concord / Hear Music has done the Archive releases noted above with an X, plus they've also done straight reissues of many of the more recent ones, including: Off The Ground Run Devil Run Driving Rain Chaos and Creation in the Backyard Plus these were already on this label upon their initial release: Memory Almost Full Electric Arguments I believe, at the most, we can still expect: Tug of War / Pipes of Peace Wild Life / Red Rose Speedway London Town / Back to the Egg Flowers in the Dirt Flaming Pie And that's pushing it!
Ha! I knew "Flowers In The Dirt" would be one of the more likely ones! Mark my words: "Flaming Pie" will be next. I've been reading a lot of old Paul interviews lately, and he consistently apologizes for WL / RRS / LT / BTTE, or at least expresses regrets about them. He doesn't want to be slammed for them all over again.

I understand the dissapointment....but for me very good!i know i want the Back to the egg video special,or maybe the glasgow concert ,the best concert from macca let me tell you!or the James Paul McCartney video special but we all take for sure that the Super Deluxe versions of the albums brings that!?Flowers is such a great record!and have such good things ...bring me for once the Ou est le soleil video!

If true then I am happy for this to be on the list. However, like the other members have stated, why not the other releases and at a much faster pace?

2nd day with the TOW & POP archive disks. They sound great like the prior released sets. It's nice because the bonus disk and album disks both fit on one 80 minute cd'r for both sets. The promo tri folds don't come with the coming soon cards. The Hoffman board, somebody said that the catalog number for the FITD coming soon card is the same as the POP catalog number and it may be fake. Guess time will tell. My buddy in radio has his deluxe coming so I should know for sure soon Loving the stripped down demos that really allow Paul's voice to shine!

No, that was my comment on the Hoffman board and what I meant - but what apparently isn't clear to anyone - is this: The "Coming Soon" cards have the catalog number of the album that they're issued with - thus, "Speed of Sound" and "V&M" both had a "coming soon" card for "PoP" and "ToW", but the V&M card had the V&M catalog number on it and the SoS card had the SoS catalog number. Several folks on the Hoffman board (myself included) have had fun making "joke" coming soon cards for other albums, but - since we only have the existing cards to copy from - they've all had the catalog number of an already existing card, with an alternate cover superimposed on the top. The difference with the Flowers card (pictured above) is that it doesn't have the same catalog number as some card we've already seen before - it has the catalog number of the Pipes reissue (which is what it SHOULD have). It also has DIFFERENT/updated copyright info on it, which makes it look like a truly unique card - does that make sense? IF it's a fake, it's the most clever one we've yet seen...

Thanks Eric, my mistake. Trouble is sometimes I don't get over to Hoffman boards for a few days and there are usually several new pages. I'm kind of surprised as although I do like Flowers in the Dirt, I don't really consider it strong enough to be a stand alone album. The radio and press guys are getting their deluxe sets early and when any of my contacts get theirs, I will know quickly whether the card is legit or not. I just wish he would double it up with PTP or OTG...even Chobba or Unplugged
