Set List critique

I can't wait for the upcoming setlist watch: The anticipation .... the exhilaration ... the suspense .... and then... "....Roll up for the magical mystery tour -- step right this way!"...
You won't be far off, I'm afraid. Bringing 'Hello Goodbye' back as opener for the same territory as where he played it the time before, while having 'Venus And Mars/Rock Show' ready. (2011/2012)

Yeah wont hold my breath until i see it first hand! But im guessing Mr Kite [..] will be probably go.
"The 'One On One' Tour will debut a brand new production, [..]. Employing massive screens, lasers [..]"... Nope, that one is to stay, haha...

I'm playing devils advocate here; the transition from the Spring 2011 Up and Coming Tour to the Summer of 2011 On the Run tour was literally a name & banner logo change. The setlist did not change very much aside from a couple of numbers that had not been preformed before. I do think a new tour name gives a fresher feel after touring from 2013-2015 on the 'Out There' tour. Perhaps this tour will coincide with a new album release tying in the 'One on One' name.

I have been wondering too what the significance of One On One is. I know it is a Cheap Trick album, and a Hall and Oates song.

I really hope he drops the tribute songs + a few other and add something like take it away.

I have been hoping for "Take It Away" since he started touring again in 1989.

Well, the email to fans did promise surprises. Hey, Paul, I don't ask for much, but how about 3 --just 3, it's not much! -- post-Beatle surprises. Speaking hypotheticallly, how about... The Mess Run Devil Run Friends to Go Pleeeeeeeeeeaaaaaaasssseeee?

Imho, based on the most recent Out There Tour legs: Keep: Golden Slumbers / Carry That Weight / The End Lady Madonna And I Love Her Blackbird Band on the Run Eleanor Rigby Yesterday Helter Skelter I've Just Seen a Face New Can't Buy Me Love Another Girl Nineteen Hundred and Eighty-Five Hi, Hi, Hi Temporary Secretary I Saw Her Standing There *off and on played* Listen to What the Man Said *already dropped* I don't care about the song, but you gotta keep it in for these shows: Hey Jude Let It Be Back in the U.S.S.R. Live And Let Die Worked great, now time for something else / deeper cuts for deeper cuts / he's got too many great other songs to have these stick around for years: My Valentine Another Day Being for the Benefit of Mr. Kite! All Together Now Lovely Rita Eight Days a Week Queenie Eye Got to Get You Into My Life Hope for the Future Day Tripper *already dropped* All My Loving *already dropped* Get Back *already dropped* Never worked, drop: Save Us Everybody Out There *already dropped* Way overstayed its welcome: Ob-La-Di, Ob-La-Da Let Me Roll It Something Paperback Writer The Long and Winding Road Here Today Live highlight, not in vocal reach any more: We Can Work It Out Maybe I'm Amazed That would make room for a give or take 15 fresh additions. Yup, an absolute pipe-dream.

new songs on the tour 2016??? FOR ME, SOME POTENTIAL SONGS COULD BE: HEY BULLDOG YOUNG BOY IN MY LIFE NO WORDS MARTHA MY DEAR MOTHER NATURE´S SON BABY´S REQUEST MAXWELL´S SILVER HAMMER BALLROOM DANCING TAKE IT AWAY ROCKY RACCON I´LL FOLLOW THE SUN HER MAJESTY JUNK/SINGALONG JUNK BIKER LIKE AN ICON HOT AS SUN FOR NO ONE WHEN I´M SIXTY FOUR GOOD NIGHT TONIGHT/THE END

Songs like 'Oh! Darling', 'When I'm Sixty-Four' and 'Maxwell' are really a stretch to me: there's a reason he left it 46 years to perform them. It would be just for the checklist, just like he brought out 'All Together Now'. And the first one isn't going to happen for obvious reasons. The only Beatles songs plausible left to perform are: 'Hold Me Tight' 'Every Little Thing' 'What You're Doing' 'Martha My Dear' 'Rocky Raccoon' 'Honey Pie' So mostly second tier material and deeper cuts. My vote goes to the beautiful 'Martha My Dear', which as we know he already started rehearsing, and would be the most obvious option for the next tour. Now, solo material...

Good choices, if I can only pick 3 how about the songs below: Take It Away Little Willow Promise To You Girl

If no significant change this time round then it will never happen. His loyal fans really do deserve something.

I fear this to be true. They (the band) have not been rehearsing have they?

That's my fear too There wasn't a lot of time between October and now to rehearse a bunch of new songs and no one has heard about rehearsals - somehow they always leak or he plugs them as build up for new tour. My bet is on Martha My Dear finally making it past rehearsals. Sadly My Valentine will stay until Paul writes another song for Nancy, that's just the way it's gonna be and I've resigned myself to that.

Someone mentioned Goodnight Tonight earlier in this thread. I think that would be a great addition as the show closer - it worked brilliantly on the 1979 UK tour. I really liked the funky (and admittedly rough) version that he did with the Africa Express collective in London in 2012 (
.) Hey Jude could then be an encore? -
I really hope he plays The Other Me on this tour.
-
Regarding the stage, has anyone noticed that some of the seating plans (e.g., Rogers Arena, Vancouver) seem to show that some version of the riser is still there?

I wonder if that's the surprise? Surprise...the big a## stage is still here.

JUST NEED: MARTHA MY DEAR THE BACK SEAT OF MY CAR WHEN I'M 64 ROCKY RACCOON And NO MORE LONELY NIGHT! THIS SONG WILL BE AWESOME IN LIVE!
-
Just got my Fresno ticket today! Regarding the new set design production. I'm really hoping for a new opening. This one back from 2002 was such a rush vs Paul just walking on. (which is fine too) just saying.
Hope to hear: With a Little Luck Ever Present Past Appreciate Take It Away -

Hope to hear: With a Little Luck Ever Present Past Appreciate Take It AwayI remember seeing Paul for the first time in '02, and the thing I remember most was the intro for the show. A hell of entrance for sure!
