Fair enough! I don't feel bad for you.
But if I tell you that the closest of those cities is 430 miles from me, do you feel bad for me THEN?
Look, I know Paul cares about his New Mexico fans, because I initially thought, with my geographic challenges, that Fresno was the closest he was playing to Albuquerque, a mere 13 hour drive. But then I checked and Little Rock is only a 12 hour drive! That's a LOT better!

The Stadium is absolute S**T and WAY below par for him. The Giant Center would be just fine but I really cannot believe Paul McCartney is going to be in Hershey...I don't really know how to react to this. Do we have anymore insight like...when? Or which venue? I'm just kinda in disbelief.
I've only been to the venue once, and that was just for my daughter's marching band competition about ten years ago. Am I remembering correctly that seating there is just bleachers?
Yep. Picture a High School Football Stadium...that's what he's playing if he does Hershey.

Guess this is what happens after annual touring. He shouldn't have done the US in 2015, demand would've been higher this time around and he wouldn't have to do Hershey
Not quite. The thing is...he doesn't have to do anything. By doing less dates in each region, he increases the demand. If he actually does two nights in DC, something in Jersey, and a stop in NYC most likely...Hershey is really not a necessity and I think he would likely boost sales in DC by leaving it out. I'm not convinced Hershey will sell out. He didn't sell out in Charlottesville in 2015 or Pittsburgh in 2014 and those are about 15,000 & 20,000 capacity, respectively...and Hershey is definitely a smaller market than Pittsburgh.
I honestly think a US tour this year is a bad logistical idea for McCartney. His US shows last year either didn't sell out or barely did. My father and I outside the Columbia show met up with some higher up companions at the university and they said the show only sold out an hour before showtime. The other problem was the venue ticketing system was flawed, but to be the biggest single artist in the world and not even sell 10,000-12,000 tickets, take a break and go to places with higher demand like Australia, Asia, South Africa... DC will detract from Hershey which will detract from NYC and so on.
There's nothing wrong with Paul touring the US every year but, it has to be spaced out geographically AND he needs a new tour with about half the show changed every year IF he wants to sell out everywhere he goes...and we all know that he does, always. He had no problem selling out in the states through 2013. The ticket sales problem started in 2014 when he milked the Out There tour for a second large scale run hitting similar markets. NYC and DC should have no problem selling out if he comes this summer. It's a new tour and it's been three years for them. Anywhere in Jersey is dangerously close to NYC to sell out and Hershey is just a clusterf*** of poor venue choice, poor timing after doing TWO PA shows last year, and having at least three shows in the tri-state area on the same tour leg.

It seems then it would have to be General Admission, excepting any seats they put on the field. No, thanks.

Problem is, the dude will be 74 in June. I'd say this could very well be the last big tour.
Every tour could be anyone's last tour. Not even worth mentioning.

If it's my only option this year, I'll be there. But I really hope this turns out to be someone else tomorrow......and that there's a Verizon Center announcement for Sir Paul!

Me too!

I'm surprised to see the reaction to Hershey as if the venue is beneath him. Tons of major acts touring today, including many of his peers have played there. The venue is garbage, but it's a high capacity venue in an area that serves a large region of concertgoers. It makes total sense for him to play there if it ends up being one of his stops. It's not some random place that he has to play for any reason other than that it's a convenient place to serve a large population.

KingMacca:
Paul could easily fill 3-4 nights there on a new tour.
maybe whole NY tour? there are places where he hasn't been and I hope he will be like Pope who is visiting every place, not one by 14124 times

Also overdue: hartford/uncasville (mohegan sun) boston/providence. And Cleveland is Waaaay overdue. He has never played Portland Maine's arena.

Weird that Hershey, PA is somehow more attractive than Tampa and Miami, two major US markets. Or NM, for that matter.

Or Chicago.

It is surprising, indeed. But still more opportunities left for a fresh, young tour. He could play those warmer markets in the fall when it's cooler northeast.

It looks like Paul will be playing in Hershey. This was posted by the Hershey Concerts twitter.

Hershey kisses on the bottom.

Yeah I'd say this is pretty much happening now. Happy for central PA people. A real treat for small town America!
-
Hershey draws from a very large region of big markets - New York, New Jersey, Philly, Maryland. Not sure why this is getting some kind of reputation for being a small town show.
-
Welp...our fate is sealed. Let's hope Hershey isn't the only US announcement tomorrow!

I'm looking up articles on the impending announcement and some of these are just cluelessly funny. PennLive in particular thinks it could be anyone but McCartney, specifically speculating Madonna, Ringo, Kiss, Willie Nelson... Only Madonna has the potential of those four to sell that place out anymore. Looking at the venue, I'm still surprised they've gotten some high magnitude acts within the past 10 years. Most of the people that play there look like country artists on their annual amphitheater tour, teenage heartthrobs, or Dave Matthews. The biggest outliers that surprise me from the past decade are the Rolling Stones, the Police, Billy Joel, and Bruce Springsteen.
