The tension is building! I'll be heading out in the next few hours. I made two signs, cut the posterboard down from its full size because I do not want to block people's view and I'm pretty close to the stage anyway. One is asking Paul to sign my vintage Wings tee and to hug me, the other is a "NA" sign for Hey Jude
Good luck! Just noticed we've been at all the same shows the past few years! Enjoy!

Did anyone see the small article in the Washington Post yesterday about the party FLOTUS held for President Obama last Friday, 5 Aug, at the White House? Among many celebs on the invitation list (Stevie Wonder, Jay Z and Beyonc?, etc.) was our own Sir Paul. (I note the article was very careful to refer always to the invitation list, not actual attendees--it appeared the WP could not actually confirm who was really there.) Paul and Nancy would appear to have been able to attend as the hiatus on the One-on-One tour did not end until Sunday. All of which makes me wonder if he will add "Michelle" again as he has done at least once in recent DC shows. Would be a nice "thank you" for the invite and/or party, no? Counting down in earnest now until the show!

I'll look for your signs, good luck!

Hope Paul signs your Wings t-shirt....you stand a good chance!

He came on at 8:30. I haven't found a good scope, yet, just a couple of short ones or with bad views.
-
Very strange that there have been NO reports, regarding either the sound check, set list, links to scopes, etc.
-
Here's a periscope link, he got the whole show I think and also has it named so it will stay online permanently, won't be deleted: https://www.periscope.tv/Gabriel_Espana/1nAKEbdYrDoGL

Paul sounded great. Played the usual setlist.

Flawless show I encourage others to try for a second row center seat! I was directly under Paul's microphone. Good crowd around me except for an obnoxious woman in the row behind with her sign saying "Rome 1965" and she kept yelling "Rome 1965" throughout the show!! Paul and the band's performance was superb and definitely worth all the money I spent . Looking forward to tomorrow night so I can have another great memory. A woman was bought onstage with her sign that she has been to 100 shows! I would rather have one or two shows with a seat near the stage. Another woman, this one from North Carolina, asked Paul to sign her. I thought it real quick thinking that Brian came over with a towel jokingly cause it was up near her bra on her upper side ops:

That is cause us boardies are relatively small group. I don't use a cell phone as my kindle and landline do the job for me. I didn't take my kindle with me as it would be too heavy. I hope there are some clips on YouTube!

Great show as usual (admittedly, I'm biased--LOL.) Same set list near as I can remember as the show in Hershey last month with the banter the regulars know, although new for me this tour is the story about George Martin asking John to have someone else sing the melody on "Love Me Do" when John switched to harmonica and Paul saying he could still hear the waiver in his voice on the recording when John had him take the part. Paul, Wix, Abe, Rusty, and Brian are always such consummate professionals and courteous, but I wondered if they found the fans in DC a little wanting. Our baseball team, the Nationals, complains that we are not as vocal as fans in other cities and I'm always amazed at the fans around me at games who never take their eyes off their devices or carry on continuous conversations about things other than the games. They divided the front section at Verizon last night into the first four rows, then an aisle and the remaining 13 rows. I was in the penultimate row of that latter section and was shocked as the majority of that section (NOT the very front where Dia was) sat down for huge swathes of the show. (Grateful as the guy directly in front of me was built like a pro linebacker, so I actually did see a lot of the show when he sat--but still surprised.) Would be interested in the impressions of others in other areas of the venue. The first fan Paul called out--Jane who had attended 100 shows--actually came from the sides, not floor. It was part of a bachelorette party (although their signs used the British term "hen party") with the bride-to-be holding a sign asking Paul to "sign the bride." They had let out a huge screech when he came to the "people bring signs" bit and he called them out even if he did not read their signs. He did not call up the two fans whose signs he did read during that segment--the guy whose sign he did read at the Nats' Park show in 2013 who named his son "Lennon Paul Thomas" and another person who was celebrating his 108th show. There were also the usual "Paul for President 2016" signs--it IS DC, after all. (But they should also know not.) The second fan called up was a young girl who wanted Paul to help her finish her "Hey Jude" tattoo on her side as Dia mentioned. Final note for this long post, there was a big group from the British Embassy in the middle of the front center section, right behind the end of the sound check group with Shelley. I saw her escort some--I think including the Ambassador--toward the stage toward the end of the show, presumably for a meet and greet. I also think I saw Nancy--who as others have noted is indeed stunning in person--leaving that section near the end. Have to miss tonight's show, but hope everyone has a great time and see you next time!

Fab show...been a long and winding night. Just briefly popping on here to let everyone know the show was fantastic as always. At 10:50pm last evening, just about the time we were all singing "Let it Be" with the man, my grandfather lost his battle with lung cancer. Tonight's show with my aunt, his sister-in-law whom she's known since age 3 and the woman that taught me to play piano at her first Paul show, will be a very, very emotional and much needed rejuvenating experience. Thank you Paul, for the bliss of the concert world...and God bless my family for not calling me until they knew I was home at 1am. I'll give more detailed reviews of both shows, per usual, tomorrow.

So sorry for your loss, deepest sympathy to you and your family. I hope your family enjoy's the show tonight. I made A beer run about 7:30 and purposely went by your section but I didn't see 2 girls with Out There shirts or fans on the run buttons.

So sorry to hear of your loss. I hope the show tonight will, indeed, help in your sorrow.

I love Paul's concerts!!!! Went with a friend and it was her first time seeing Paul live. She loved it. We were in the nose bleeds so can only imagine what she would think being closer up. Tonight I!ll be on the floor. Can't wait. Wix Rocks, sorry for your loss. Are you able to go to the concert tonight?
-
Wix Rocks, I am so sorry to hear that your grandfather lost his battle with lung cancer. So did my brother a few years ago; he would have been around Paul's age.I also lost an older sister from smoking. We need to catch what is important to us in life while we can. :
