New McCartney song on film soundtrack

tip of the hat to the folks at Steve Hoffman's forum. This website has the whole song to listen to https://popcultura.com.br/2016/10/28/paul-mccartney-in-the-blink-of-an-eye/

That song really influence me as a child!!! I got the Beatles message loud and clear!!!
It's kind of funny. Millions of people have said billions of words about who we should be and how we should act when all we really need is to treat people the way we want to be treated and love generously. That pretty much covers it.

Who is Steve Hoffman? I've seen him mentioned here a few times, but all I get on Google is some venture capitalist guy.

I like it , much better then Hope For The Future IMO
-
I like it also!! Much better than Hope! What a beautiful melody!
-
the song is so cute ? hope for the future is obviously better though, because at least we got that messy music video
-
Just beautiful. There I go getting emotional and crying for a song. Reminds me of Percy Thrillington with the lovely instrumental elements.?
-
Very pretty. I like it. Here's a YouTube upload for you.

Like It a Lot
-
Lovely song. Much unlike the more contemporary sounds we were hearing on New and Hope for the Future. Would be interesting to know if he recorded this song during the sessions for his new album.
-
It's rubbish. No melody. Awful vocals. The only decent part is the orchestral arrangement and Paul didn't do that.
-
Ehhh. Okay tune. No way is it superior to Hope For The Future.
-
Pauls voice in horrible form. Never sounded so frail. Like the orchestral bits but the melody and lyrics are well below par. Diasappointed.
-
After a couple listens, I definitely think it's a superior song to Hope For the Future, by miles and miles. But oh dear, is Paul's voice ever shot.
-
I love the intro to the song, very lovely. I'm probably in the minority here, but I do like the song.
-
I like the intro, I like the verses, the words are interesting: moon shadow and winter cloudburst make for some nice imagery.....it's the chorus that seems lazy and out of place to me.
-
This is the bloke who told George Martin "no Mantovani" and scowled at Spector for strings on TLAWR. This is crap. Voice is shot and and just another instantly forgettable dirge...a la I Want To Come Home. Pack it in Macca.

It is a gorgeous melody. Paul's voice, however, is painful to listen to; it's just gone. Maybe if he had done multiple harmony parts it could have disguised the frailty of it. I can't ever hear that song again, the croaking sounds he makes. I just want him to stop.

In his prime, Paul used his voice as another instrument and it invoked so much emotion and energy in the song. Especially with his power ballads. Sadly the opposite is true now. His voice makes the song appear unintentionally weary, depressing, and dull.
