After election results, appreciate Paul's support of Hillary

I'd rather talk about Paul's amazing music, argue over his best and worst songs or whether or not he's better than John, than discuss anything about American politics. Listening to Red Rose Speedway as we speak....Little Lamb is one of his most under appreciated songs ever recorded.

I've got no problem with the talk on American politics... maybe cos it is so FAR more interesting than talk on Australian politics.... but I gotta tell you.... Little Lamb Dragonfly is just an absolute beauty! A heart-raiser. Guilty of evoking goosebumps.

Absolutely. That song and "Don't Let It Bring You Down" are right up there with Paul's all-time bests as far as I'm concerned.

There will never be getting used to it for more than half of the voters. I don't like dictators.

I will say the last election cycle has been more entertaining than House of Cards. I've been listening a lot to Red Rose, I think the whole album is under rated, I even like the suite in the end. I've also been rediscovering London Town, nice, mellow, easy listening album. I'm such a big fan, just having any Paul album on, even if I'm not actively listening, feels like having an old friend over.

Housing construction up 26% in last two weeks; Dow Jones nearing 19000; New York Times apologizing for their awful coverage of the election. Yea, we're doomed. AND, I absolutely LOVE Red Rose Speedway!!

No, the NY Times did NOT apologize for its coverage of Trump: http://www.politifact.com/truth-o-meter/statements/2016/nov/15/donald-trump/donald-trump-says-new-york-times-apologized-bad-co/ And that housing construction surge happened in October when nearly all the polls were showing Hillary winning. http://www.cnbc.com/2016/11/17/heres-which-stocks-outperform-the-market-after-housing-starts-beat-expectations.html Trump supporters have the same tenuous relationship with the truth as their pathologically dishonest hero.

Once again Bruce, you've managed to dig out the truth. Fox and Kellyann seem to put a spin on things, kind of like a Bavarian clock. Wonder what Paul is thinking about all of this? Really great of him to support Hillary!!

Hold on...While I agree that this poster you were quoting was cherry-picking some rare positive economic data, to take the side that Clinton speaks the truth is absolutely insane. As I say this, you are one of my favorite posters on here. But it's undeniable that Hillary is one of the most corrupt candidates we have ever seen, certainly in the modern era. Just a few examples: - The Clinton Foundation - If there is any justice, people will be going to prison for this. We have seen clearly that countless people were given government access in exchange for their large donations. These are felonies. Many from foreign leaders, some from countries with very questionable human rights records, yet their donations got them meetings with our secretary of state and future presidential candidate. Investigation is still going. - Benghazi - This should alone have eliminated her from any candidacy. - Email scandals - People may tire of hearing about this, but this is, at best, incredibly reckless that our secretary of state would not be using secure channels to communicate classified information. At worst, this borders on treason. We now know that there is a 99% chance that our biggest adversaries were able to obtain our secrets because of her carelessness. We could go on and on, but this is incredible. Then you factor in that most of the media was totally in the bag for her, not just in the general election but in the primary as well. We now know that she was even fed debate questions beforehand. This is crazy stuff.

The choice has been between a millionaire female who pays American taxes and a Billionaire Male who doesn't "and brags about it!" Yet, she is the CORRUPT one! We may need to rewrite Webster's Dictionary ...To The Paulrus!

Well, I believe we've beaten this topic to death. In the words of Forrest Gump, "and that's all I have to say about that." Peace. Think I'll go for a run and listen to some Red Rose Speedway.

Please tell me when and where I said Hillary speaks the truth. I'm waiting. I'd actually rate both Hillary and The Donald as being less than honest. But Trump's level of constant, relentless, hilariously obvious lying is a couple of orders of magnitude worse than anything seen in modern American politics.
-
I saw on either The Daily Show or Real Time With Bill Maher someone calculated that during the campaign Hillary lied about 30% of the time but Trump lied about 70% of the time. Neither was a good candidate, but I agree with Bruce.
-
As the votes are still being counted. Hillary's lead in the Popular Vote continues to increase over Trump. She is now 1.4 million ahead. There is serious talk about doing away with the Electoral College system which put Trump in office on Nov. 9th, even though he lost the election.

In response: Don't Let it Bring You Down was one of those songs on first listening that didn't really grab me. But as the decades have rolled on, I find it quite captivating. Exhilarating, even. A lot happening in that song. Really like it. A real, real good song. But if we're going to talk about changing the U.S political system, the thing I find most bizarre is a two-term maximum. If Obama was allowed to run a third time, surely he would have won against Trump?.... But there is some weird thing that says after two terms you are done. I don't agree with that. Regardless of political persuasion, if someone is doing a good job in the role, shouldn't they be allowed to stay as many years/decades it takes until they lose favour?

It probably isn't just about taxes. We all use the tax code to maximum benefit to pay the least amount of taxes possible. Fewer that 50% of Americans pay taxes. He was just better at using the existing system than she was. The whole tax code need to be changed. She has a resume' that more people are aware of....going back to Whitewater and her misplaced documents which, somehow, mysteriously showed up in a box on a table in the White House one day...and on and on. The American people were more aware of her record because she has been in the public eye seemingly forever....in politics. She was "establishment," and people held that against her. One got the impression from her was that rules only apply to other people. That...fairly or not....got her beat.
