Funny how the setlist variations doesn't even get posted any more, as repeated often beforehand, it was going to be a 'Birthday'/'I Saw Her Standing There'/'Get Back' situation. And indeed, night 3 got ... 'Get Back'.
Is that Rusty going into 'Hi Hi Hi' instead at the very start of 'Get Back'?It sure is! And Paul shot him a look right away! That is such a massive letdown to hear the end of Sgt. Pepper's Reprise and NOT hear "A Day in The Life" afterwards...
Can't blame him, playing the same note for note set every working day, and then suddenly a change: this is the only time the "rotation song" got played before 'Hi Hi Hi', and it has a similar tempo. Abe Jr. and McCartney are on the same page though, given away by the open hat on the 4.
That's one unique trait that I've never noticed consistently from anyone other than Abe. He's already establishing the groove of the next song, the second the previous is done...even if Paul has an old repetitious story in between.
Haha, same! Almost all the time McCartney is telling something he's already counting off, and then has to stop again. He really gets the show going, hehe.

Cool, IEM sources for these gigs:

Dear God those sound horrible...and why does it sound like Paul is singing with a vocal track on Junior's Farm? Is there just something wrong with the recording?

This are IEM's, in-ear monitor recordings, it's what one of the band members is hearing on stage. And there's a lot of slap delay on his vocals when he's playing that song.

Yes, I know what they are. I just thought it was odd that the others didn't have it to any noticeable degree. I just mean that HIS vocals sound horrible...on pretty much all of those clips. The clip for "Letting Go" sounded pretty good...but the rest? yikes.

That does sound strange.

Then, do you mean technically (recording-wise or the way the monitor man mixes it for one of the band members) or just his vocals in general? Because I'm afraid the latter is something which these raw unfiltered recordings showcase very well.

That's just how he sounds these days. I actually think his vocals sound a bit better on those than on standard YouTube clips to be honest.

I have to agree. All things considered, he doesn't sound all that bad in those clips.

I meant his vocals, I was hoping this would give a clearer insight since most of the time we hear clips from crummy phone clips...but this made it quite clear. Paul's voice is something to enjoy "in the moment"...and I don't know how long this period will last either.

Apart from some intial vocal strain on the first part of Maybe Im Amazed ( which is a tough vocal range regardless) he sounded amazing last night. Not to mention that i was approached by Pauls Staff and was upgraded to front row seats for the concert ("a gift from paul")!!! My first concert and an amazing experience. Plus going with my gf who hasnt heard a lot of Paul/Beatles songs , she loved it !!! Although as we were at the front i forgot to warn her of the pyrotechnics on Live and Let die. The heat off those things!!!! People can be nit picky, but at the end of the day, his concerts are so enjoyable and so special, who cares if its not the right tempo, or he skips some notes in songs? We always have the recordings, so lets think if ourselves as lucky and enjoy Paul

WOW!!! Congrats! I can't even imagine the euphoria, how magnificent! It's very easy to sit back here, and on a different continent no less, and nit pick...if I had heard this show live, I probably would have been ecstatic.

So happy for you!! You are so correct, sometimes on this board we can tend to be a bit nit picky, but after his concert, we always come away with a smile on our face because we saw HIM. Especially your first time.

WOW How lucky for you guys!!! I bet you got some great photos too!!

I tend to forget about the nitpick setlist and voice stuff when I see him. I don't know why I'm complaining, in the current set, the songs I've never seen are A Hard Day's Night, Can't Buy Me Love, Letting Go, Temporary Secretary, Love Me Do, In Spite of All The Danger, You Won't See Me (!!!!), The Fool on the Hill, FourFiveSeconds, I Wanna Be Your Man, Sgt Peppers Reprise and Birthday. If you include the Budokan show, you can add Drive My Car and Every Night. While I wish there were more, that's enough for me to go see him again. Also, he's freakin' Paul McCartney and we don't know how much longer he'll be doing this...

Congrats! So glad you not only got to see Paul live for the very first time, but that you got to see him from so close!

'sup with his meter piano AND vocal wise during parts of 'Lady Madonna'?
Nothing extreme, but he seems to water it down a bit, probably getting too difficult to play. Vocals sound okay btw. It's just a smidge slower than usual. He's never shown any slacking in his playing. Gosh, maybe even Paul is getting tired of playing it! Listen to this one that is way, way too fast right before it...and it makes the new one seem REALLY SUPER slow
Haha, indeed, the slowness is one thing and crazy in comparison. But he now plays more staccato - more simultaneous with the vocal lines instead of wobbling funky in between - and skips a few notes with his right hand during the breaks of his left hand, for example during the intro. And this is his party piece! Still nothing major, it just stood out.
I'm not really hearing it, but I just hear a tiredness in it. It's not inspired or fun. Time to retire the old bird. And for the record, ever since he started playing it with Wings...he hasn't played it true to the recording. He has ALWAYS dumbed it down on stage.
AND he never gets the lyric right!! It's "Did you THINK that money was heaven sent?" not "KNOW!" Saying "know" makes no sense! (Sorry for the rant. Pet peeve.)

OMG! Where were your original seats? In the nosebleed section? Congrats!

Another thing about Lady Madonna. I always thought he played it way too fast in concert. This slower version is closer to the speed of the original recording. And switching gears, did he get a haircut? The front looks much shorter than when he landed in Japan.
