Apparently the parking lot opens at 5pm and the gates open at 6pm. So I'll just plan to be there by 5pm and see if I can see or hear anything. But I just can't see trying to get there much before that. I feel like there would be nowhere to go! And the venue site says no signs larger than 8.5 x 11?? Are people planing to bring signs anyway? I have one from Summerfest last year that I was planning to bring, so I guess I'll bring it in my car and see what happens? I mean, he likes the signs!
So what are you going to do? Bring 8.5x11? We can't decide what to do!
8x11 is crazy! He's got good eyes, but I don't see how he could see that unless you were in the front row, and it would look stupid! You could write maybe one word on it! I don't usually do signs, but I made one last year and still have it. I'll bring it, and if they stop me from taking it in, I'll take it back out to my car.

Denny Laine is in town for the Paul concerts and rumor is he'll be joining Paul on stage.
He's probably in town for BeatleFest. Cool! Although Beatle Fest isn' t till the 11th.
I see that he is performing in Evanston on Thursday. The Fest is not for another couple of weeks but he doesn't have anything else booked so maybe he will stick around.

Yup and I think he's playing a solo date or two while in Chi-town too. It'll be interesting to see if Denny will be on stage. I'm guessing no but hey stranger things have happened.
I would be extremely surprised if he even got a shot out, let alone stage time...but I'd really enjoy being proven wrong! lol. Yeah, The Fest isn't for another 2 weeks (which I will be working this year!). But I heard a radio ad the other day for Denny Laine at WLS, but I don't remember the date. He comes to town quite a bit. I've seen him at Reggie's and a car dealership in the Orland/Tinley area.
You're probably right. I think he has attended Paul's shows in the past without joining him.

There are going to be more "Wingmen" in town for the Fest. Laurence Juber, Denny Seiwell & Steve Holley will be at the fest too. LetMeRollIt...you're working the Fest? At a booth? Got any extra tickets? haha

I am excited for it. I haven't seen any of them since Abbey Road on the River a few years ago. Yeah, I'll be working with a friend of mine in the Beatles Karaoke Room.

They enforce a lot of these "rules". It's a shame how many blankets and umbrellas are in the garbage every show. I hope we don't get to the gate and see a bunch of awesome signs sitting there. That would be wrong. Also, they're going to make you take the bottlecaps off of any sealed beverages you bring in.

That's crazy! Just bring an extra cap in your pocket.

If I'm planning to get there around 5pm when the parking lot opens (coming from Harlem), do you think the traffic will be bad, or is that closer to the show? Just trying to decide how early I need to try to be there to actually get in around 5pm, so I don't get caught in a big back-up. And will I be able to take my sign back to my car if they don't allow it? Oh, and do you think tonight will be shorts weather? Since it's been so hot, I was planning to wear shorts, but now it's not as hot as it has been. But I don't want to get chilly. lol

Denny Laine is playing SPACE in Evanston on Thursday night. I'd be very surprised if he went on stage with Paul, to be honest.

Traffic will probably be bad from 4-6. You have I-80 entrance and exit ramps on Harlem that will be flooded with rush hour and concert traffic. The concertgoers have to get into the turn lane off of Harlem. There are many ways into this place but unfortunately they block most off. Its aggravating on Harlem. Ive seen people bring stuff back to their cars but depending how late you get there, itll be a long walk! Supposed to drop into the 60s late tonight...but concert time should still be 70s or close to 80.

Someone on twitter last night was going crazy because they worked at a dry cleaner and Paul's clothes were there to be cleaned. Person was afraid to touch them.

Ok, maybe I'll try to leave a little earlier. So I guess if you get there before 5pm, you just sit in your car and wait? Guess that's not that bad. Especially with the new Beatles Channel on XM! Hopefully I'll be in well before, 6pm, so it shouldn't be too bad to find out if I can take the sign in and go back to my car before the gates open. Hopefully it won't get chilly, but I still have nightmares of the Wrigley concert where it was like heatstroke, and I don't want to do that again! This is the shirt I'll be wearing! And a Wings necklace. Oh, I saw that parking is free (unless you want to pay for premium parking). Is that true? That just blows my mind!

I don't think there will be a limo watch, as the lady at the gate from Live Nation said he's coming in by HELICOPTER?

Just like Shea Stadium.

Time to head down the street for Night 1! Enjoy, everyone!

Yeah, was thinking the same thing about Shea Stadium... wouldn't it be great if Ringo came out of the helicopter with him tonight, and they start the concert with Twist and Shout Sorry there won't be a limo watch, but I guess there could be such a thing as a "helicopter watch"... where fans can wait in the general area where his helicopter will land I'd risk another sunburn for that To everyone in Chicago, have lots of fun tonight!
