Great seats! Just nine rows behind us! See ya there!

My worst experience so far...nothing seemed to want to work properly today! And Ticketmaster changed the set-up mid-stream: first kept getting error message, then suddenly, a totally different looking page showed up. I did finally grab some tix for NWK, but not the section I would have preferred, and definitely not the price I wanted. I have doubts whether the people I was also buying for will even want them when they see the price. And $55.55 fee added on!? This may be my last concert; things are out-of-control. I'd rather do without all the special effects, just Paul on stage, and a reasonable ticket price.

Just realized I did not have to deal with any captchas!? Did things change? Got me wondering whether my tix are legit! Anyone else experience this?

You are correct, none of those "tests" for me either. I ended up with $172 seats, plus fees, it is $420 for 2 seats. It is so expensive, but similar to what I have been paying the last several years. I am glad it is not outside, paying this much for a stadium is worse.

Thanks, Pat! I feel better, now. I did notice the Ticketmaster site changed while I was on. Error messages came up, then the site came back looking entirely different! Actually better, as it listed tickets and sections, rather than making you click on "get tickets" to see what was available.

I did not have any of those either. Maybe Ticketmaster took them down to help out the scalpers... :

That's not funny! Let's hope not! It did seem strange to change the site right in the middle of a sale. That's why I started to wonder if they'd been hacked, and we were all being directed somewhere else. Please, no...

I am quite certain about two things: I bought three tickets this morning. Additionally, TicketBastard directly feeds the scalpers and are making it easier everyday for all of those parties to make as much money by selling the same tickets again and again and again from one party to another.

TM tends to stay away from the map views/select your own tickets during the beginnings of really busy on-sales, because those maps or lists of seats usually don't work very well when the site is crazy. They use the older interface that selects the tickets for you. It seems to be more stable. I bet once things slowed down with the sale, that is when they made the switch.
-
What's weird is I had both list of seats to select and selecting tickets for me, randomly change back and forth on 2 of the 3 devices I was using! I really didn't like the list because I would select the seat, most of the time I would get the message "another fan beat you to the tickets" (or something like that) -- very frustrating. If the seat was still available you had to start the buy process in order to see the seat number (important to me on floor sections). At least when the ticket was selected for me it showed the seat number so I could quickly throw it back, and if I wanted to buy it knew it was still available. Overall stressful experience (seemed like an hour but was actually 24 minutes) but at least I got a decent, if overpriced, seat.

MSG say they have a local presale on Thursday. Does anybody know what that is? Do you have to live in NY area to get tix? Does anybody know the code for this?

Local presales are typically referring to codes from local radio stations. I have not heard anything about this.

I have never posted before (in any forum) but I am totally bummed. Tickets went on sale for Paul in Detroit and I was online at the exact time they went on sale and couldn't even get tickets then. I tried for an hour and was willing to pay the 250.00 each to take me and my son Lennon to the show. It just seems wrong that they end up on these scalper sites within minutes. I am a single father and was willing to pay the 250.00 US to see him but can not afford the 450.00 it would cost on the resale side. I guess concerts are only for people with lots of money from this point forward. That is a drag.

Don't give up yet. There could be a few tickets released as the show gets closer, so keep checking. If there is enough of a demand, Detroit could always get a second night too. He has openings before and after the current show.

I had the same problem. I prefer the selecting tickets randomly page for the same reason as you. Same computer on multiple attempts and still the ticket purchasing process changed while I was trying to buy seats. Did anyone ever get the interactive seat chart that Ticketmaster also uses?
-
There is always a thread on this site for the purchase of tickets at face value from people who purchased tickets and can't go. Always. Just keep checking, especially as the show gets closer. Also, the secondary market for Paul always seems to get softer (at least in NY) as the show gets closer. I think if you are patient you will be rewarded.
