^ Great post Clem865. I'd like to see the extended version of Mary Had A Little Lamb single added to Wildlife (or perhaps Red Rose Speedway?) plus the promo films. 1882 is an odd one. It seems that no master tape of it has ever been found or any paperwork to prove such a recording exists. And yet the Wings over Europe tour programme contains a list which does suggest that it had been recorded. Its a great song anyway and if nothing else, the live version needs an official release.

Getting Closer sung by Denny Laine?
Please no, spare us.

Well, I had a feeling when the Archive Collection moved to Capitol that they'd find a way to sell Band On The Run again. https://www.paulmccartney.com/news-blogs/news/the-paul-mccartney-archive-collection-eight-titles-to-be-re-released

I do love my vinyl and I desperately want physical editions of releases to stay alive, but I have to say I think these new re-releases are a complete and utter waste of time and money. All of the deluxe Archive sets have been beautifully presented and after remastering, the albums really do sound magnificent - but I don't see the need to release them twice! I'd much rather they moved on to the next Archive set(s), whichever album(s) they may choose to release next.

Seems to me that they realized there was no other McCartney product ready to go for this fall, so they came up with this idea. I will also pass on this one.

These reissues are simply a way of getting the titles already issued in print on the Capitol label, as the previous releases were on Concord.
-
Still waiting to find out what happened with the ordering info. It seems like the final releases are being changed in price and availablity. I was really surprised about the absence of titles and didn't care much for the colour vinyl, but now the colour vinyl in the UK looks like a mystery to acquire and I released I wanted the Venus and Mars two colour vinyl. But who knows when this will get resolved!

Agreed. I bought both versions of Pure McCartney and all archive releases (both 2 cd and deluxe). Even I can't see justification for this.

That is just silly, this release makes all the sense in the world. New album not being ready I believe quickened this release. This would have been done eventually as these are widely off the shelves. Label change makes it logical to release these again under the Capitol flag. It may not be what we want, but having them back on the shelves continue a steady stream of revenue. Very simple business decision. Like many of you, I would rather have a new album or even a new archive as a consolation prize but I think they were expecting the new album this year and didn't prepare another archive in expectation of the delayed album. Bottom line, having product on the shelves for Christmas season rather than not having product on the shelves is a no brainer decision

Ok, business wise sure having something out there. I can separate that out from my personal preference of wanting something newer instead. Personally I will skip this batch of releases for something else.
