Wishes for Paul's New Album?

Yeah, I saw him on TV not too long ago, in one of those "Whatever happened to..." news segments .. he must be retired by now though. ("Julie, Julie, Julie, do you love me? Julie, Julie, Julie, do you care? Julie, Julie, are you thinking of me? Julie, Julie, will you still be there?")
jl4761 wrote: Did you have a crush on Andy Gibb and Leif Garrett?
Nope. Only teeny-bopper idols I liked were David Cassidy and Bobby Sherman, although my first big celebrity crush was Robin on Batman, when I was in Kindergarten... he wasn't a singer though.
jl4761 wrote: The majority of the women in this world all love bad boy types!
I think you're right...
jl4761 wrote: I bet that the nameless Rock star is Paul McCartney!
Who? Oh, him?... (filing nails and shrugging) I guess he's ok... KIDDING, lol No, seriously, you guessed right, lol... he'll always be the most talented and terrific musician in the entire world, and supports some really good causes and ideas, so I'm glad to be his fan.
jl4761 wrote: What are you up to? Are you ready for the weekend?
Just relaxing after a long day. Looking forward to the weekend.. don't have anything planned but heavy duty housecleaning and going to the salon to get a hair change... am considering going mop top, but I kind of like having long hair, like Jane Seymour in Dr Quinn Medicine Woman... hmmm.... oh well, I'll think about that tomorrow
jl4761 wrote: Back to the topic, I would really love for Paul to record a whole album filled with fast and slow silly love songs just for Nancy alone!
He has written so many beautiful love songs over the years, if he can be inspired to somehow write more, all the power to him, we'd love to hear them

Hi jl4761! I don't think there's ever a problem with listening to too much music, it's good for the soul, and brightens your day! I'm doing good, thanks... just having my morning coffee and getting ready for work How about you? Saw this interesting item about Donny Osmond... he tells a nice story about Paul. Evidently Donny's in the UK doing a tour now, and is giving some interviews. http://www.eveningtimes.co.uk/news/15039074.Donny_Osmond__I_never_regret_those_hard_times/ "He relishes career highlights including performing at London's Earls Court when he was 14. 'I flew over the audience singing Puppy Love with thousands of girls trying to reach me, which you can imagine at that age was pretty cool. I thought, 'Does it get any better than this?' ' he says. 'I was 15 when Paul McCartney came to my dressing room with his daughter, Mary, and asked for my autograph. Can you believe that? For years, I thought I'd dreamt it, but I checked with him recently and he said it was quite true.'" Since Donny was born in 1957, that must have been in 1972/1973. Maybe Donny had Mary confused with step-daughter Heather, who would have been about 1o or so. Anyway, thought that was nice, that Paul has always tried to connect with and give support to other performers
I knew that you were a Donny Osmond fan! When I was in Elementary school, I figured that if I was going to get anywhere with the Elementary School girls, I had to sit in their rooms with them and listen to Donny Osmond! Oh my God, the young girls loved him! All of my female cousins loved him! My female cousins made me go see The Osmonds live with them at the Hemisfair Arena in San Antonio, Texas in 1972. The Osmonds was the first concert I ever went to, what a night that was! I was the ONLY guy in the venue, girls were passing out everywhere, I have never been kissed by so many girls in my life. I was thinking to myself: "Maybe The Osmonds are not so bad after all!" The screaming girls in OSMONDMANIA, in my opinion, is the closest that you'll ever get to BEATLEMANIA! It was also the beginning of my hearing loss! What a lot of people don't know or realize about The Osmond Brothers is that they can truly ROCK when they want to! Lets get back to the heading of this thread, what I would like to see Paul do in his new album is write and sing more love songs for Nancy! Wasn't "My Valentine" written for Nancy?
I pray to the good lord that he does not write more love songs like "My Valentine", he has done so much better love songs. Yes, the song was for Nancy and that is why it will remain on his set list forever. As for your discussion of crushes (lol), when I was a young boy my TV crush was Peggy Lipton (Julie of the Mod Squad)

Peggy Lipton was fine too! I had a crush on Marie Osmond, Debbie Boone, Olivia Newton John, Lynda Carter, Farrah Fawcett, Jaclyn Smith, Cheryl Ladd, Jennifer O'Neil, Crystal Gayle, Donna Dixon, Maureen McCormick, Susan Dey, Natalie Wood, Rita Hayworth, Marilyn Monroe, Ashley Judd and numerous female acquaintances just to name a few! I know there's more, I had hundreds of crushes!

I know people would like to hear another "Maybe I'm Amazed," but that would be difficult to do again. The inspiration for that song was at a particular time in his life, and dealt with what he was going through then, which is now passed... "My Valentine" was inspired for different reasons, at a different time in his life... no two songs are ever alike... I think he should always feel free to write whatever inspires him, that he'd like to share with us, and people are free to like some songs of his songs better than others

You're in good company with Paul then! You've heard the stories about their trysts? She wrote all about them in her book "Breathing Out." (And how Linda foiled her last attempt to be with him in June 1968 at the Beverly Hills hotel!)

I got onto this thread quite late so if I'm repeating earlier comments, please accept my apology. My wish for Paul's new album to be mostly in the vein of Flaming Pie, Memory Almost Full and Chaos and Creation. The songs and various styles on all 3 albums were terrific. As far as his main producer, I would be happy with Nigel Goodrich, Jeff Lynne or Giles Martin. One thing for sure, I'm hoping that it will not be David Kahne (remember the poor overall sound quality of Memory Almost Full). Besides his main Band, I am also hoping there might be a guest musician/collaborator on 2 or 3 tracks. My first choice would be his son, James. Remember their collaboration on Heaven on a Sunday. I would love to see them work together more in the future. I also wouldn't mind if Paul did a song or two with one or more of his former collaborators...Elvis Costello, Eric Stewart and/or Denny Laine. Contrary to what some might think, I think Paul did some nice tunes with all 3.
-
I would go as far as to say if Nancy has talent and can sing, put Nancy on the album!

When he comes up with a name, it would be great if the name could be more easily googled than New Just sayin...every time you google that album you have to also put " Paul McCartney album" in the search field, as well as New. I know he's going to do whatever he wants, that's cool...
