The vast majority of fans at the show want and love the Beatles hits. In Philly, the back to back "Letting Go" and "Temporary Secretary" was probably the biggest flop of the night. That being said, we deserve a series of shows (not even a full tour) at intimate venues with REAL "pure" McCartney music. It can span from the 60's to the present with the hits and deep cuts that define the man throughout his life. Let us experience '65 with "Yesterday" and '73 with "Band on The Run" and '82 with "Wanderlust" and '89 with "My Brave Face" and on and on.
"In Philly, the back to back "Letting Go" and "Temporary Secretary" was probably the biggest flop of the night." My response to that is so what - lol. There are probably 25-30 songs that the crowd can go nuts over so they will live with two not so familiar songs.

I'd love to hear Venus and Mars again! He didn't keep it long enough, or play enough of it. It just wasn't choreographed quite right. I went with "I Feel Fine" since he seems to be on this kick of opening with Lennon lead vocal numbers. And "Let Me Roll It"? I've just assumed that one isn't leaving.
I thought the same about V&M, I really wanted to keep on shouting "OI" but he cut it off too soon. Yeah Let Me Roll It isn't leaving, don't understand why it's been in all shows since 2002. He has been opening himself to doing a few Lennon numbers. He said recently he's not so worked up about whether it's a Lennon song or not

__________________________________________________________ I feel exactly the same way Yankeefan. Where is the 1976 Paul when fans were dying to hear Beatle songs. He just started with Venus and Mars/ Rock show (one of the greatest concert openers of all time) and then went right into Jet. By the time the medley was over, he had the crowd in the palm of his hand. He could play whatever he wanted at that point. No one complained when he ended up only doing 5 Beatle songs and closed the show with a blistering Soily which wasn't even on one of his early Solo albums. Now that was the adventurous Paul who did whatever he wanted not worrying what the fans thought. I realize that 35- 40 years later is a totally different time and Paul has to play a majority of Beatle songs to fill stadiums. That being said, from 2002 (his comeback Driving Rain Tour after Linda sadly passed away) he has virtually ignored his great Post Wings catalog. If he had just done 6-8 solo songs (different ones with each tour)) casual Beatle fans would have learned so much more about Paul McCartney's full career. This is such a shame in my opinion. The other day I was listening to Move Over Busker (from Press to Play) and I couldn't help thinking how good his current band could rock that song. It would only take a couple of shows with all the internet hits and people would be clamoring to hear it. Unfortunately Paul never continued that kind of adventurous setlist after Wings over America. I will never understand it.

Totally agree! Just saying...that's how it goes!

I've heard it mentioned on here that "Let Me Roll It" is a favorite of Nancy's which I suspect is why it doesn't go away...

And I have said before I wish one of her favorites was "Take It Away" - lol.

I wouldn't of been disappointed if he would of axed Eleanor Rigby & Temporary Secretary.

Totally agree. He could easily replace within the same album too. Play "Coming Up" & "For No One" instead.

I was just listening to Back to the Egg and forgot how much I loved that album. It all came rushing back on how much fun Spin It On is. Just thinking it would be a fun rock song to hear at a concert. I think it'll be great for all of you to play. I hope to see you at an upcoming show.

That and about 50 other Wings/solo tunes I could name. Don't hold your breath.

In October Paul will play a couple of gig in Usa. For you he will add 1 or 2 new songs in his setlist?

The U.S.A. is special to him, for several important reasons. Are you jelly? Instead, you could be very glad for him For a very recent example there's that major Ron Howard documentary on the Fabs' early touring years and Beatlemania, out now.
-
I suspect there could be a few songs out of the ordinary for the One on One Tour should Paul happen to welcome some special guests on the Desert trip...but other than that, I suspect everything to be business as usual.

I can tell you're a fan of the London Town/Back to the Egg era...I don't know if that's my favorite era at face value...but that's the era where I discovered all that's 'Paul' (including Beatles) and thus, it's a sentimental favorite time period:-)
-
After the release of "Hollywood bowl" cd I hope that Paul will think to add at his setlist some cool songs like "Baby's in black" "She loves you" "I wanna hold your hand" and "Ticket to ride".
-
Yeah, I would love to see McCartney and his current band rip thru Dizzy Miss Lizzy!
