Paul is the only one who can stop this ticket rip-off

Maccaroni74...love your name, since our group graduated in 74. Wondering, though..."tickets were readily available for all to purchase?" Well...we generally can use a computer properly and we generally read basic instructions, but we did NOT get a presale password or code through email, and we do NOT carry AMEX, so I don't think "readily available for all" is the correct scenario. Bless your heart, we still love Paul and band and still hope to see him this time around, but you're not correct. We had NO chance for presale tickets. Not whining this time...just stating facts. Hope you got great tickets!
This site has not emailed presale passwords or codes in a very long time; it's been several years since they stopped doing that. The code was published on the News page, in the article with the announcement about the tour dates.
This board used to have helpful mods that would step in on sale dates with presale links and passwords to help out, but with the format change, that seems to have disappeared.

Yes, I was wondering if there were any mods around to answer some of those questions that morning. And I did read that some people got a password in an email. I didn't. I knew it was on the main page. There just wasn't anywhere to put it...except you know where! lol

This is all easily traceable back to the greed some of us were attempting to discuss in another thread. Paul simply doesn't care. He walks out with his cool million and a guarantee of a packed house no matter what...and he isn't the only one. It will never change. These big rock legends have about another decade MAX of this level of activity and popularity so they're going to soak it up for the rest of their lives.
Too bad these rock legends don't do what JK Rowlings has done to try and prevent scalpers from getting tickets to Harry Potter show in London. My family will be going to London and see it in December and you don't even get a ticket. You go to the box office the day/evening of the show to get ticket and need to show proof of purchase and photo id of the person who bought the tickets. I will also mention this show is reasonably priced especially when you compare it to seeing "Hamilton" in NYC.
Another excellent option! They simply don't care.
You are right, they are getting their money and that is all that matters. They know there is a market out there that will let them charge anything they want and will sell out. Does anybody really think the McCartney team cares about the fans on this board getting to see him in concert? I truly understand an artist wanting to make money but in his case he is a billonaire and can afford to make the prices more reasonable and still make a nice profit. In addition, think of the money he makes in merchandising when you are selling a t-shirt for $35-$50. Also, it seems to me he makes a bit of money (lol) on his sound check package and people are not even very close to the stage.
Once again, I will give major credit to JK Rowlings. She took real control of her show and has a system where real fans are going and at affordable price for theater. I believe she knows with the prices she charges she will still make quite a bit of money and that is not even including the amount of merchandise that is sold for the shows. She has proven it can be done, I wish others would follow her lead.
The man is pushing 80 years old. I highly doubt he stays up at night worrying about how tickets are sold. He has a fee, and promoters charge a price they need to, to cover his fee and make money. Paul gets his $$$ regardless of 1 ticket being sold, or all tickets sold.
This ridiculous whining is so over the top and ridiculous by the "adults" here. Tickets were readily available for all to purchase, so as long as you can use a computer properly, and read basic instructions. Embarrassing to compare ticket sales to his show to Harry Potter LOL.

Thanks for the compliment on my username. The quote you are referencing about tickets being "readily available" was peratining to the Euro and Canadain shows which people were complaining. This thread was created a ways back. Many people were complaining they were unable to purchase tix for Euro and Canada. They WERE readily available.
The US presale the other day was a messup, as the PMC presale didnt occur until hours after the listed presale time. However, there ARE tix for all shows still available without an AMEX, so at least to have the option to purchase seats now.
I DID get terrific seats for Moline and Madison, and I am on the ledge on going to KY.

Hi Peter, it's been an appalling way of doing the sales this time i agree. I really hope you manage to get something normal price and near the aisle for you
Wont be the same at a Paul show without seeing you!! Been a terrible year, my mother in law died in April, and our 21 month old son has leg problems amongst others and had to have a brain MRI in May to rule out a birth injury - only found out recently that result was normal which is great!!!! But everything is still hard, and the London show is my birthday so my sister forked out for the package as a pick me up. If we knew we could've got normal tickets we would have done with that, as the debt is terrible.. as it is for most people
Sorry for waffling on! Hope you are doing ok considering - take care.
Hi lass, so you are a MILHug, congratualtions, You got to love your sister. I took mine to see the Osmonds many years ago and she has never even taken me to the chippy. Will reply more in a pm when i find it again somewhere on word though i had saved it.

An absolute mess for Lexington, KY. Scalpers and Ticketmaster wins again. Because that stupid, "Waiting in line" nonsense.

Don’t know how anyone got tickets for Madison....I have done presales and regular sales successfully for years and was not able to get anything. All VIP prices....started at $432, after I waited in line for 25 minutes. I could not pay for anything beyond $273 and we got screwed.

SAME FOR LEXINGTON MY FRIEND! I thought Nashville this past May for U2 was bad, this is a whole new level of BS. Ticketmaster buying them up and scalping them as "Official Plat. Seats" isn't helping. The whole waiting in line thing DOES NOT WORK! Make all tickets will call at the entrance, you have to have your photo id and credit / debit card to get in with your whole party. That's the ONLY WAY to stop this. Garth Brooks did it here in Charleston, WV. Sold out 7 shows, every single last one of them in the arena were fans that paid FACE VALUE for tickets... Just annoying for fans. The Fan Club presale was trash, the Arena presale was trash, this whole experience was trash. Sad thing is, and I pray that people DO NOT pay scalper prices for these tickets. We need to show these jerks that this is unacceptable. I could never in good conscious rip you guys off on tickets...

Really tough time getting tickets today to the show in Lexington. My wife and me will have to sit in different locations because all we could find were single tickets to the show. After checking Ticketmaster tonight, I see where there are thousands of "Resale" tickets available for outrageous prices. It angers me that TRUE FANS get the shaft like this.
-
Disgusted by TM saying there were no more seats available (I called) for Raleigh or Greenville. Just got an e-mail from TM and they have resale tickets all over both arenas! Cheapest, way up on Level 3 start at $199. Why are they allowed to hold tickets like that? Because nobody will stop them. Beyond disgusted.

Tickets readily available? Nope. I tried at presale and public sale....I waited in line for 25 minutes and then kept hitting the “buy” button and was told over and over, another fan beat me. Guess my computer was not fast enough. What happened to the old way when a ticket was offered and you had 5minutes to think and complete the transaction...and no one else could get it during that time? I got a list of tickets and could not hit the button fast enough to ever win the race. And did ya notice no request to prove you were not a bot? It was all over so fast, and I got skunked.....and was left with a really bad taste in my mouth. Songkick handled the presale for Des Moines last year and it was so great. I hate Ticketmaster.

So I took at look at Ticketmaster for some of the US dates that have already gone one sale (Raleigh, Lexiington) and the only tickets available seem to be "Verified Resale" at extortionate prices! It's just as if you were looking at ViaGoGo or Stubhub or whatever, except that now it looks official ! How can Ticketmaster endorse this type of behavior ?! Well I suppose they take a big fat commission (25% added to the price of the seller, wow...) so that helps turn a blind eye I'm sure but unlike for ViaGoGo, the artists can't say, "hey it's out of my control what's going on there" ! Besides, who checks that it's not just TM themselves selling these tickets directly on top of the already extortionate prices they charge for the "Platinum", "VIP packaged", etc...
All this is pretty disgusting...
-
There are tens of thousands of people buying tix for each show. In a 20,000 seat arena, you will have tens of thousands of dissatiisfied fans who didnt get seats, and 20,000 happy ones. Keep checking TM, the shows are a looong ways off. You will get in at face value. PATIENCE. Every show has ticket drops. In the meantime enjoy the new record, and quit whining about "unfair, ripoff, we're real fans, I though tix were $29.50" etc nonsense.
-
Right but how is that related to what's being discussed in this thread ? And good luck finding a ticketdrop when TM are showing all these "verified resale" tickets at extortionate prices by default. Everyone knows these are not legitimate fans who can't make it to the show, the prices are ridiculous and the shows are in 9+ months time.
Interestingly they have a rule https://help.ticketmaster.com/s/article/How-do-I-sell-tickets that says : " "Fan-to-Fan Resale may be removed at any time at the event, tour or venue’s discretion." - So what's Paul's waiting for to have them pull the plug on this nonsense, if anyone can to it, it's him !

I think its quite obvious how it pertains to this thread. People are complaining they couldnt get tix. My response is, there WILL be ticket drops leading up to the show where you will be able to get tix. 99.9% this happens with ALL performers. PATIENCE! The ticketmaster resale stuff on their website has gone on for years. This is nothing new. I agree they arent' real fans who cant make the show in most cases. They are brokers for the most part, and probably ticketmaster themsleves. Its people buying and trying to profit. Some people panic and foolishly pay waay above face value, while others wait it out. My advice is to wait it out. Summer of 2019 is a long ways off. Check Ticketmaster regularly, and you will be rewarded with tickets at face value.

Bonnie Raitt and James Taylor did the same thing that Garth brooks did......I got a fan presale ticket but had to show up the day of the concert at will call with a printed copy of my confirmation, my photo ID and the credit card that I used to pay. No scalping was possible. It can be done .

Even without going to these "extremes" that obviously will leave honest fans who can't attend in the cold, at the very least TM should NOT allow people to resell tickets months in advance with a simple click and then just show them as available tickets when you go to the page for the show. This is an absolutely dreadful way of handling things.
And again it's apparently just a phone call away if Paul (or his management) want to prevent this from happening, as per the TM rules. Obviously he couldn't care less and isn't going to rock the TM boat that guarantees him and his clique an X million $ guarantee for each show.
